where is the problem with sharing pictures here? It's a mod even if it's private

Here is not the place to post only pictures, except if you are going to share the mod link, too.

There is a place where you can show off your private mod, here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/the-assetto-corsa-photo-thread.290292/
But, to be honest, even on the Photo Thread I see no reason to post something that others can't have.

EDIT: At least, this is what I understood after following this thread for a while - I may be wrong, though.

Sorry - That video was 4 years ago! I must have forgot, then subconsciously have thought I came up with the idea haha!
Imma still do it. On an aside. The guy that did Sveg racetrack. That was his first track. He learnt blender as he was doing the track. So hope for me yet. And it was his only track to date.

Anyone know that there is a decent version of Sportsland Sugo ?, a conversion of Project Cars 2 would be excellent.
On the other hand, Fuji does not have lights to drive at night and the AI goes crazy on the main straight. A shame.

Changed the pitcrew, its now faraway from the garage.
Thank you very much, It's really better ! 👍 ;)
(The picture is crappy It's a fact, It's a "fly shot" from Steam)

I'm back from the past with "Race 07" on the track "Circuit Ricardo Tormo"... my eyes are blowing ! ^^
I really don't know who's the girl/man beside the conversion but She/He did a really fantastic job.

As @Zwiss wrote here, he gave us the road of the conversion from the beginning to the end (and I don't want to put my wheel on rFactor2 to verify the original track, I dislike the interface from outer space and other annoying things even if the simulation stills a pretty good one).

Cheers !

Hi ! :)

You know what !?
The VRC modding team (and I was able to read it some time ago on their FB "not private", so if you are like me without a FB account, It’s readable) will update some of their "old" cars like the McLaren Honda MP4/4.

I highly hope the sound of this car will get a new good one because the actual is far from good !
A while ago in the private VRC forum and on RD, one of the sound designer admits it... but he wasn’t in the team when the car was released. ^^

I still astonished that some "masters of sounds" like "AC FAN" never put their talent in it.

Cheers.

if anyone already purchased the prototype package, will they have to re-buy it when new cars come out?

I updated my Utah Motorsports Park to 0.6 this week:

New asphalt, gravel, and grass textures
New mountain backdrop made from photos of the actual mountains surrounding the track
Added Grass FX config
Added VAO Patch
Added sections file
Included Cameras by Raul_007
Performance tweaks to help increase frame-rate on lower-end systems
Made it so the road isn't so reflective and glarey
Cleaned up preview outline
Removed old sponsors
Removed yellow apex poles since they aren't there in real life anymore
Made the transition between gravel and grass smoother looking
Added some lights in the pit area.

Mountain Route V1.0 has just dropped on RD: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/mountain-route.19311/

Now includes AI from yours truly and cameras from @safi hellie

The full course is now sat comfortably in my favourite 5 tracks for AC. Demo of AI and cameras here:

What a 15 minute* thrill ride! Completely new track so a lot to learn. The buildings the overhanging trees the track variation. Both thumbs up 👍👍
Hopefully ok to suggest one thing for a future update? I would make the water less turqoise blue lagoon-ish. Maybe a bit more dark blue?

* depends on the car and the skills of the driver....All I need is ONE clean lap :scared:. This is a real adrenaline rush track. Have fun!!

I was just navigating through the Custom Shaders Patch General Patch settings and stumbled with this setting (Force UAV flag, adv.), then I remembered that some of you had/have issues related to black screen - could it be the cause?

Question regarding Sol 1.6 Alpha 7. Where do I find the setting to to enable 3D clouds? It was on page 6 in Solconfig in version 1.5.1
In the newest alpha the clouds are 3D by default. Moving forward it seems there will no longer be options to choose 2D vs 3D clouds.

Some weathers are a mix of 2D and 3D. As Peter explains, the 2D clouds are added in to catch the the colors of sunlight for more variation and depth.

Edit: This is noticible at sunset switching from "Few Clouds" 3D to "Partly Cloudy" 3D+2D.
I'm loving the new partly cloudy weather and how the light gets overcast with less harsh shadows and bright again as the sun moves in and out behind clouds.

Yeah the water could possibly use some CSP magic but I think I saw you already commented the suggestion to the author on RD.

The layout is fantastic I agree, gives a huge test for vehicle handling. I'm sat at around 2,000km driven after doing the AI and the amount of sections you think you've got nailed on, only to try a different car and have to completely adjust your lines, braking and entry speed.

If you fancy a challenge, try following the Kunos Ferrari F2004 on AI 100% round a complete lap... :D

ME: Play some AC!
Also ME: No time, trying to keep up with all the posts in GTPlanet..

Question if I may. How can i stop the paddle gear shifts, shifting into neutral or reverse while I am moving forward (the way ACC, AMS2, RF2, PC2 etc etc does).

I play full screen with no view of dash in my setup or overlays on the screen, and in the heat of it, chasing into a sharp corner its a bummer to whack down the gears and suddenly find myself in reverse ;)

do you have a process for fixing the fact that all those models have jpg textures which rtb and ac both refuse to use, they want png or dds?

I'm not doing anything special. In sketchup I export as fbx, in xpacker I import it and then when I export my project from RTB into kseditor it still has the jpegs, so I don't think it's being refused at all.

Note: it's been a long time since I did it so maybe there was part of my workflow where I changed to DDS now that I think of it but I don't remember.

Edit: I actually did have a process, just remembered. xpacker and RTB don't mind jpg files, but kseditor does so after exporting from rtb I run this: https://vvvv.org/contribution/dds-converter on the texture directory and then do a find and replace for .jpg and .png in the ini kseditor persistence file that's generated by RTB and change them to .dds. then i load it into kseditor.
