Hi everyone! A little advice, please.
Can anyone confirm that the "Driver Model Utilities" app in " "Developer apps" is the key to solve that hideous problem of the driver head "coming to life" only at a certain distance from the camera on replays? The problem I have is that in many, many cars the driver´s head only moves and acts according to the G forces when the car comes closer to the replay camera. If this app solves that problem can anyone give me a hand in setting this up correctly? Thanks.

I was using the standard full layout Teddie... I think!

EDIT: I just tried 'Full Plus' and it's actually giving me about the same FPS as the regular 'Full'... which means they're both 'Too Full'. :dopey:

(With one car –the Dallara Stradale– at 7.40am with SOL scattered clouds, I'm only getting around 57fps. With well optimised tracks, I normally get anything from 100-120fps.)

Around 70-75FPS but when facing the mountains a huge FPS drop to around 40FPS.

See also the renderstats of the plus and the standard track layout. They are the same.
I asked questions about it in the discussion thread on RD.
 
Well this depenends. In a few lines:
- no mods (and by no, i mean none, zero),
- 30 fps cap,
- no CM
- no CSP
- no SOL
- no CrewChief
-...

Try to imagine how much you would play AC without these. The engine is the same and the official content, but that's it. I would be long gone from AC, if PC version was like that.
He doesn't want to bother with mods, "comfort first" type of player who refuses to play games on PC. As long as base game is technically the same, it's okay. 30 FPS cap is too bad though.

I don’t have Zandvoort in Rfactor2, so I can’t check track files structure. But I believe that this new content has the same structure as other new tracks, for example Monaco. I tried to extract the files to open in 3Dsimed, but this did not work, because the new tracks have a different file structure. Zandvoort has regular files, like old tracks, or did you find a way to open new files? Can you open Monaco in 3Dsimed?
My guess would be it's the old file structure. I'll check later today!
 
how did F1&Supercars Challenge even get access to this car?! I really want the Lamborghini V12 VGT in assetto corsa...........
 
thanks unpacked it, and the setting was already active.. but, 100% you can paddle the car into reverse while it is moving forward, even with that on.. guess I just have to learn to drive properly ;)

You have to rename the data.acd file orelse it'll have priority over the folder.
 
Dude, thanks a lot. I've been working on the Denver Street Circuit all day since you guys have been talking about it and I'll be getting to the Pepsi Center one after that. Do you mind if I include this stuff in a release version?

Yes Gutbomb, go ahead and include/add my items with yours to make a complete track for you. I will be working on the "Streets of Denver" starting tonight.

Not going to lie I haven't 100% finished any mod I have started haha, I get distracted but this one is nearly done, I need someone to help with the physics and a texture expert to steer me as to why some texture maps are perfect in 3dsimed but I wrong in kseditor and I can't correct. Pm me if you can help and of course I will put a link here, today hopefully. Cheers

But there is more to it. It works for some cars, doesn't for others. I have no idea why.
E.g. the URD DTM (T5) cars don't have anything like it in their data folder and still it is not possible to shift in neutral of reverse without a complete stand still.
Not that this is perfect, but close. Kunos should have implemented a way to shift into neutral by means of a button dedicated key. A lot of racing cars IRL have this function.

Other example: the BAC mono does not have this protection in the data folder but the behaviour is different. You can downshift too fast but only into 1st gear. Neutral and reverse is impossible unless coming to a complete stand still.


But what I suggested does work for some cars surely because it used to bother me that I accidentally shifted in neutral in hairpin corners. I managed to 'fix' several cars this way. Thing is that I can't remember which ones...

Edit: found it again in my notes: to prevent the shifting into neutral while moving, you need this line added:
LOCK_N=1

Weren't you doing an Escort RS at one point? How far did you get with this as I'd love to see a decent Escort in AC

You could just lay it out for everyone in the form in which it is. Then probably everyone who is interested will be able to do some kind of work to improve this.

For Aston Martin, for starters, someone could make physics from the official C9. This could be used as an AI. And then experienced moders will surely make more appropriate physics.

They got it because they are part of RTM (I believe) and they come here to promote RTM's mods and then what follows is a few posts from people asking for links.
No one is gonna post paid mods here :D

Probably comes from RTM since they posted a donation pool for that model on their website which might come from Hum3D since I saw it there.
That channel is one of the collaborators for Alexey which have exclusive partnership with him somehow.
 
Anyone here have the GTP DPi mods that used to be about? Much prefer them over the rollovers cars, the steering weights up so much nicer than the rollovers
 

I think that you could've just credited me for using my skins as a base man. You've just changed it a bit, but some parts are just copy and paste, you've just changed the colours and the sponsors... and given that with sharemods link you get some money, it doesn't seem fair at all.

Yes, sorry about that, is a known issue that we overlooked in the first release and will be patched in the next version. We are also changing the brake model and the physics a bit. Thanks for the feedback

Sorry to bother, but were you able to update the SLS Black Edition? I'm really craving it :) Thanks!
