And made some tweaks to Chuckwalla Valley Raceway.

They'll both be on my Patreon as soon as i'm happy with the general feel of them.

Along with Laguna Seca and Willow Springs, California has some very cool race circuits!

As others have noted, the mod that's posted on Youtube (link below), the video was posted on May 27th, almost two months ago, with a statement that it will be released when the channel reaches 1,500 subscribers. Almost two months later, and only 150 subscribers. So at this rate, the mod will be released in one or two years, unless the "creator" does something else to promote it, or better yet, promote their ability to create quality mods. Ideally, he (or she) should have released a couple of other good mods to the community to establish a good reputation and a "relationship" with the community. This would help build anticipation and interest for a mod with this kind of "target" to gain subscribers.

In the video, the mod looks like a straight rip from one of the older sims (I loved it in GTR2) and the physics for this AC version look too "grippy" and unrealistic.

So, once @Shaun Clarke has finished updating or completes his Radical SR3 mod, he has plenty of time to develop and release a high-quality Formula Ford mod, with the correct physics, long before this other "mod" is released. Besides, I'd rather have this mod from Shaun anyway. If this other "modder" had Shaun's reputation, he could probably get 1,500 subscribers in a few months or less, and it might be worth it if we knew he was as passionate as Shaun is about his mods.

Give me the model LOL. I have people I know that drive these IRL so data is not an issue.

@KevinK2 @dathyr

This is only a 20 minute mess around using the original fast lane, but it gets the handful of fast road cars I tried around the first chicane without being ridiculously slow on the opening lap.

It's still not great as it has the AI tapping the brakes at points on the main straight (now confirming my suspicions that there's a black hole around the SF line where the AI don't function as normal) but it does sort of work. Generally in my experience you should steer clear of the maxspeed hint unless you're trying to stop cars from getting air or just want them to lift at certain points of the track. It doesn't cause the AI to brake to the maxspeed setting but rather lift off until they hit the speed limit, this is probably why dathyr's hints worked with formula cars as they have huge aerodynamic drag so lifting slows them much quicker, it's also likely the reason why they are so slow at the start as they won't accelerate past the limit.

Thanks @GIBBONS for your information. I just started playing around with MAXSPEED after Gilles I was helping do AI on some tracks for used it in certain locations and I then played around with the numbers to see what it actually did. Most the time I just use HINTS and works quite well. Not sure if MAXSPEED reacts any faster or not, but I saw what it was doing on another track and seemed faster.

I am not sure what BRAKE_HiNTS or DANGER does either - never used them. Not much info on them other than - yes they exist. I think Gilles used DANGER hint on a track, but dont remember which one. Learn as I go.

take care.

I wasn't trying to, I succeeded. I just never bothered to "polish" it.
The track deserves better than I could do so I have forwarded the files to Jim.
Oh my God, you certainly did!! Sorry for before, didn't know how far you were with development. Downloaded and just did a few laps. This is amazing. Excellent job. Track elevations, mesh, curbs, fence, spot on. Wow. The surrounding of course need work, but the hardest part has been done. I'm like a kid for christmas.:bowdown:

Here my first lap on a laser scanned track for all to see how far this is already:

Now to convince you, to do this with Suzuka. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Guys how can I do a picture using the photo mode blur effect for more than one car to keep the car I'm not focused on from getting blurry?

I generally use f5 cam and photo mode in replays
sorry for bad english

OK, made a discovery today, that might help some people. It was driving me crazy since i bought the first URD GTE car (modern one), and was getting me even more crazy with gt4 pack from Guerilla. It also happened on other mod packs here and there, but not so often. And all that even though i had normal stable FPS rate. I kept getting this micro stutters of picture, like frame drops. Sometimes every few seconds, sometimes not so often. I was trying everything, thinking it had something to do with video settings of my PC. I gave up eventually, didn't drive gt4s at all even though i like them a lot, and I was always struggling with GTEs. Couldn't give that up, as Aston Martin GTE 2019 from URD is in my opinion the best car to drive in all sim racing.

Today i was going through settings and opened the audio_engine.ini file. I remembered that it was a thing a while back to change the number of audio channels from 256 to 512. Don't remember why. Had something to do wit ACFan's and Fonsecker mods not working correctly. And i had this setting again on 256. Don't remember putting it back. It must of happened when doing an integrity check after a power outage and my AC wouldn't start. Then i started thinking, both these packs have very loud intensive sounds of cars, i have an ACFan mod on some GTEs....

Anyway to shorten the story, changed the channels from 256 to 512, and no more stuttering of picture in both mod packs. IT WAS THE SOUND!!! THE ENTIRE TIME, IT WAS THE SOUND!!!!

If you have similar problems, the file audio_engine.ini is located in: ...\steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg

Change the value of max channels to 512. It should then look like this:

[SETTINGS]
ENABLE_AUDIO=1
MAX_CHANNELS=512
UPDATE_INTERVAL=0
ENABLE_PERFORMANCE_SPEW=0
LIVE_UPDATE=0

This doesn't lower your FPS and you won't brake anything in AC by changing this and you can always change it back. The hours I spent fixing this, AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! It makes me so mad.
Hi ! :)

I will keep it in mind but the truth and apart some AC challenges in game, I do only hotlaps so I never experimented this issue.

After your interesting post, I checked the file and It is 256 max and some of my friends are aware I can be very "touchy" on this gaming side (the side which makes me disliking totally pCars for example !) in the good settings and feelings.
The only issue I got with some very very little stutterings was caused by "CAMTOOL 2" and many thanks to @Masscot who put a view on it in this thread.
I disabled it and the game get back to really smooth in game and replays.

About the sound and the hardware (I'm a sound lover since my childhood and my ears are really sensitive, It's a passion !), even if integrated chipsets sound on MB are so far better than some years ago associated to Windows 10 audio management also did it better, I always used and I still using a PCI (or PCI-E now) sound card since Windows 98.
I will no mention it because It could be a debate which could be a possible mess here (I prefer this one, this one is better, Did You tried It ?, What is your opinion ?, the bundle and the software dedicated is great, etc... BLAH BLAH BLAH !)
Sooooo and maybe I read or I understood your interesting words bad but You didn't mention if You are on a MB soundcard or on a specific and dedicated one !

Did You checked also your OS sound properties as well ?

Cheers ! :cheers:

try a different PP filter or edit one to raise the DOF aperture value above 8 (try 12 or 16)

Forgive the ignorance and the silly question, but where can I edit the DOF of the filter? I state that when I use the photo mode the dof is disabled

UPDATED LIGIER JSP3

Updated the Ligier JSP3 from ACSFK to be more realistic

Changes:
- More accurate power figures
- New gearing (matches IRL gearbox)
- updated suspension slightly
- Includes new 2020 ELMS skins by @gladbecker82

Enjoy!

Thank you !

My two cents :
- Pseudo interior windshield
- RPM led's glow removed
- Better seat position
- Adjusted ONBOARD_EXPOSURE (adapted to 16/9 screens and 54° FOV)

Maxspeed can be better in certain circumstances, I know I used it a lot on the Mountain Route to stop the faster road cars from getting too much air but I find it's pretty rare that it's better than the normal Hint.

The Brakehint I believe (don't quote me on this) just adjusts how hard the AI brake in a particular braking zone, it's used in quite a few Kunos tracks at values like 0.85 which I assume allows the AI to take a faster entry where it's been tested that they can handle it.

Danger is actually very useful, you define short term side boundaries with it to basically stop the AI from getting too close to either walls or each other. I've used it quite a few times on several tracks, particularly on circuits with fast chicanes to get the AI into single file and stop curb jumping.

Lastly, do yourself a favour and don't look to Gilles for any examples of good AI programming. If you want to take stock of someones work then as has been mentioned many times, look at some of @LiquidSkyMan 's work or have a look at the hints in Kunos tracks or those of people like Fat Alfie. That's not meant as a dig at you btw, I'm learning almost every time I lay down a new fast lane, just try to learn from the right people. 👍

I have an onboard realtek sound card, which is not really good i guess, hence the problems. But it's solved now, so no need for a new soundcard. :)

Hi
the same thing always happens, the specialists who know everything, it is very easy to criticize, you know how to make mods?, you know about their difficulty! I am a modder amater, you only want the mods, the best things possible, fast and free, the same thing happens every time I want to share something with people, criticize, criticize,Thanks to you, I am not going to share this mod, I imagine you have not seen the other video of the F1600 with the new update, in September I wanted to share with you the conversion of the nissan gtr gt3 from the assetto competizione, I will no longer share, because I'm sure you will say that it sucks! Then nothing, private mod, and ACC gt4 too, private mods! thxxx!

I respect anyone that takes the time to develop a mod, especially someone that's just getting started and learning as they go. We would know about your work if you shared your mods and asked for help from others in the community to improve them. Shaun might even help with the physics to improve and finish the Formula Ford mod. Then, after producing a few mods and gaining experience, you could realistically build your Youtube subscribers and everyone would anticipate your releases. Once you produce good mods, you might even be able to charge for them, and after you've established a good reputation, you'd probably be successful.

As for ACC mods, several excellent high-quality mods have been created and shared for most of the GT3 cars, and I'm sure we'll be seeing the GT4 cars from others very soon. A quality Formula Ford mod would be nice to have in AC, and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we see one, whether it's your mod, or likely, from someone else. Overall, as is, choosing not to release your mods and ask for help--you're missing out on several opportunities.

I've been a part of sim-racing for over 20 years (GTPlanet screwed up my profile), and I'm part of a real world endurance racing team. I produce 3D models for use in Unreal Engine and VR, as well as parts for 3D printing prototype and production parts. I even designed and produced real-world-use parts for the team's race car. At the moment, I'm too busy with releasing new products, but I plan to develop and produce mods in the future when I have the time... and I will be asking others in the community for help with AC-specific questions when I need it.

AIRPORT Piestany

Real gem this one IMO. Some serious love has gone into this track.
Even has a glider, ermm, gliding about..
Simple grassFX config.
Just add to track folder, delete if not liked and all back to normal.

I really like this track. I would define it as "the charm of simplicity". However, I think the track has a serious problem: AI is very slow. It seems like she's having a hard time getting past the chicanes fast enough, and also crashes into the chicanes tire walls quite often. I don't know if anyone has already addressed that problem.
