Real Quick 2 cent observation about the COVID era... It seems that every corner of life has changed for the worse now. From the frustration of work loss, quarantines, social distancing, wear a mask or not, I could go on for several lines..

I have noticed this drastically in driving habits in my location, it was rather pleasant to drive about when so few people where at work (or working from home) with so much less traffic congestion everywhere. Now, everyone wants to dangerously push and shove their cars around resulting in aggressive driving everywhere.

Its a shame that so many people have been affected by this world wide, and more so that many are taking it out on others. This little world that is here in this community needs to fight these tendencies to let RL spill over into our fantasy of driving all the locations and cars that are made.

If only some modders would go the Guerrilla route and let us update the previews of their encrypted cars (and see them in CM if we wanna skin it). Am not asking for much. A totally encrypted (no previews / CM) mod, for me, is one headed straight up to the bin. Ilja has worked his arse off to propose these features and we cannot use them anymore, now that's great. Sometimes wish Kunos would release an update that'd 'break' this version of the game (and all of its mods), just for the ****ing laughs. The meltdown would be absolutely priceless.

I see oceans of "babies" crying if it would have happened :D LOL - that would stop "mods" heavily dependent on CSP from working correctly, and make all encrypted mods instantly go to oblivion ().
(encryption acts not only as protection of modders' hard work, but is a way to make ilya's CM a must. More integrated features of such kind coming soon ...)

[i do not want him to build the whole cancer-o-genous mod distribution eco-system, i just want him to finish what he had promised to deliver - the ****ing rain :D.

and yes, he did swap the project priorities on purpose, that's the way this world works

Wouldnt touch any new gen wheels from logitech with a 10 foot barge pole. Their software is garbage, the wheels often have issues and they put that stupid rubber stopper in the brake pedal that noone asked for to simulate "loadcell". Its just a whole heap of expensive rubbish.

If i was given the option of choice between an older G25/27 and a new gen G29/920/290 id take the older one in a heartbeat

Thanks for the update. I saw some mapping errors in the interiors like the logo on the steering wheel and some textures a bit low res. I was also wondering why the metal is green on the interior, it looks a bit odd to me.
If you are interested I can make a pbr config for the whole car and with your permission maybe change some of the textures. The car will still lack interior mapping and AO but that takes some time to do.

By all means help out if you can. I don't work much in 3D software. I know enough to be dangerous but not proficient. That steering wheel texture always gave me a little twitch.

Some of them are hit or miss but always good to have more content. Started getting into modding some of these mods too due to lack of FFB or other minor oddities.

Regarding encryption, I am only partly against it because I like to inspect the cars in Custom Showroom and most importantly I want to keep my library consistent with the same default style preview images. If the encryption is such that it allows it (or the car has such previews by default), I have no problems. In a few cases I contacted the author, and received my new preview images with no problems and had a nice talk with them.

Regarding the support of encryption to protect the work of the "author"... I am sure it takes a LOT of time and effort to make a good conversion. These are not RTM, SimDream level cars we are talking about, for sure, way way above them. If it takes a similar amount of effort compared to modelling a new car altogether, I have no idea, as I have never done either of them, but I suspect no.

The problem here is the same as the problem with humanity nowadays, lack of respect. Regardless if the conversion takes 30 minutes or hundreds of hours, for sure I would hate to see it modified or shared without giving credit, as it happened for very long before encryption became a thing. So I completely see the point of authors encrypting their work, even though it's not completely "their" work. The problem is, as with DRM, that the end user is the one that "suffers" with lower compatibility and reduced options, such as in my case creating new preview images.

Nevertheless, I rather take these mods with encryption rather than not having them at all. And I am thankful to all who create content. So yes, as the comment above, let's not fight, appreciate what others do even if it's not completetly in line with our expectations. We are not forced to modify the vanilla AC install at all, this is all extra.

I'd like to offer him a trade with my only trading value: customized driver kits for his cars, in exhange of giving him my preview preset (and asking him to make a preview for his cars that suits my style).

How about showing some respect to Ilja instead of automatically thinking the worst and dressing up conspiracy theories as 'fact'?
Of all the people to attack you choose him, the absolute least-deserving target? All because he hasn't yet 'delivered' RainFX to you 'as promised'?
Seriously, this is way beyond parody now. These types of comments are embarrassing.
 
The main conflict with encryption, to me, is the fact that we can't make previews in the style as the ones we have.
I see two solutions to this:
1) The modder could add a "preview only kn5", that we could switch. I think the 2019 GT3 Mercedes did this correctly.
2) Remove encryption for lod B or C. For preview porpouses, lod B will do for most of us. Yet for stealing porpouses, I guess you can't steal much from a lod B?

Good choice, welcome to the thrustmaster eco-system, where you will "waste"/purchase the extra rims and addons that you dont necessarily need but makes you feel like a better driver :D (tbh some of the rims are great like the sparco add on, tm open wheel and rally sparco

I can see him as a greatest (biggest?) contributor to Assetto modding community (because of all those useful tools he did for AC), and he was always also very humble and kind in replies, but i think he lost his way lately.

Cool thing is , where i buy it it features the standart wheel , shifter , wheelstand and tm open wheel

Hi guys,

I've seen a couple days ago a magnificent V6 Clio that's almost finished by the modder, he posted the link of a video showing the progression of the mod with the nice things like wipers and such, anyone got news from him please ? Hope I didn't miss it

Help please, I run into this:

Original Assetto Corsa and CM pro. I ticked to update CM to untested version accidentally and then this appeared:banghead:. There's a way to fix it or I need to reinstall CM? (please add the option to revert to previous versions)
This appears all the time that I try to go in settings. Help me:bowdown:
 
The only way i can see CM becoming a problem is if it goes too far down a root of pay to play.
Reiza paid SMS to use the madness engine, had they of just taken it then i doubt SMS would have taken too long to sue them.

AC 2020 is basiclaly a new game built on the AC kunos engine, so far as an open game for moddrs its rolled on and no doubt benefited Kunos in new sales of base game...

But that is based on donations not actual pay to play....

If it did, not saying it will, go down a root of needing to purchase something simply to use AC or just to get some skins or whatever, maybe that could be the point kunos look at it and wonder if they should maybe look a bit deeper into it.

I am sure it will be fine, but certainly this new idea of a sort of steam workshop seems like a big step for something they never paid for any rights to use...

Just an opinion from me, as 'd hate to load up CM one day to find kunos changed some code and it was dead...

Everyday i load up another sim like say AMS2 or AMS1and even though i enjoy it.... within 1 hour i am loading up AC then spend hours on it sometimes not really doing seemingly, anything...just having fun messing about.
