Man that looks very promising :)

Thank you very much! This helps me a lot for this fix.
I will surely work on it so that also VR users could easly enjoy the mod :)

I've tried your Panda mod and it's amazing, literally the one car I was looking for in AC
Only one thing, the dashboard is not correct, it's from the 4x4 version but it's just a nitpick.

<- These are the correct dashboard types for the fwd ones, for reference

@hellothankyou I've just realised that the rain glass/wipers mod you did for the M5 pack stops direct sunlight from casting shadows in the cockpit.
I archived your modded M5s and redownloaded the originals from Assettoland again and sure enough, the original cars allow direct sun to cast shadows on the cockpit. In the modded versions there's just ambient light in the cockpit but no direct sun/shadow contrast.
Any ideas why that would be?
It can hopefully be fixed because shadows playing across the cockpit, dashboard, steering wheel etc is really important for realism and immersion.

Mmmm... makes me wonder now if ALL RainFX-prepped windscreens have this unfortunate side effect.
Edit: nope, the Kunos E30 M3 for example works with RainFX and has proper sunlight penetration.

You mean sth like this?

DONE :D
Thx for pointing that out. Also internal window dirt texture with fake reflection of the actual car could be nice. (if i find out some day how to do it nicely :)

@k-e-n-n-e-t-h

The AUDI R8 IMSA GTO is a magnificent mod and as a fan of Khyzyl Saleem, I look forward to seeing more of your work following this theme.

I noticed that the #STEER_RATIO and #LINEAR_STEER_ROD_RATIO configuration was misaligned (as is the Kunos original) I have therefore recalculated the alignment for you.

The handling from both a telemetry and drive-ability perspective now provide a more linear delivery of the steering input/output. The car matches the real life data of 16.5:1 steering ratio with 620 degrees of rotation [lock to lock] and 20 degrees of travel [in each direction] delivered linearly.

The attached image demonstrates the differences:
Old = 10:1SR / 32 degrees of travel.
New = 16.5:1SR / 20 degrees of travel.

I have uploaded the amended "car.ini" for both cars to this post for you.

Thanks for these I had control issues with how some cars drove but never knew how to fix it.
This has it solved. These cars feel more real even though no setup changes have been made it’s amazing the difference a ratio setup for a wheel can make thanks and keep ‘em coming.

I have a mod “road vs race” which has an F355 challenge road and race versions and a Lamborghini road and race version. The F355 in road vs race is v0.91 and the one posted above is 0.93a do I have to remove road vs race and replace the F355 in that with this update or can i overwrite the existing mod?

Great! Thanks. What was causing it?

I checked that and it was only a flag in object properties left on default setting. I do not usually touch this because even on Kunos cars the flag is sometimes set "True", sometimes "False" iirc. But now i definitely know that it is useful :).

You wanna word-play? :D Prepare - the flag (binary setting) is called "Cast Shadow" and is set by default to "True". Sounds like okaay? Naaay..... You wanna shadows in the cockpit? Set it to "False" :D. Seriously.
The more funny is that it is right way (just if you think about the deeper logic behind it). (cause it seemingly doesnt matter if the objects are transparent :D).

Makes sense if you think about it - 'true' would treat the glass as an object that casts a shadow, even though it is a transparent object. So you can see through it, but it effectively puts the whole cockpit in shadow.
:)
How do you set these flags? I think I have a few cars with this same problem.

@SofianeVAG @Masscot and other civic "spoon" active users :)

Well... finally got my hands on v1.06 update by @flyingsaucer @JakubP and saw there is wrong mapping of external banner in 3d model of v.1.06 (i state that for guys to be aware of their issue, hope this helps them troubleshooting)

So... all in all, even my patch for 1.01 should have been worked correctly :D if not the bug in 1.06.

THE NEWS IS:
i made a patch for version 1.06 covering even the latest bug in the 3d model of 1.06. It disables wrong mapped external banner from the 3D model and inserts this time BOTH internal AND external front banner to cover the issues present in 1.06 3D model. (The patch grows slightly but only because 3D model v1.06 has more bugs than 1.01. But still tiny cute :D 80kB :D patch)

Use the addon patch on top of ver. 1.06 and enjoy :)

Thanks a lot for these 2 updates, awesome!!!

How do you set these flags? I think I have a few cars with this same problem.

The effect was pronounced on the bmw because the glass for rainfx is on every window from inside) and good that you tested it in more sunny conditions than me. That evening when i posted my addon, i was busy with fixing a clash with external window tint which was giving greenish rain on windscreen in csp 0.1.65. but on 1.67.without issues :D.

how? i have to check (or you can check) if CSP config has access to that flag, that would be hassle free method. If not , you'll have to unpack car's kn5, set the flag and resave the new kn5. Or, for ambitious ones, by hex editing values in a file, without unpacking. If someone knows the offsets :D. Eg, for that m5 e34, to hide the left wiper cover (that contraption on top :D) you just change the 160th bit after the object id to "0" :D(but that knowledge it's not really useful in everyday use LOL)
If you want to see that, you can change that hex value in my patch file and voila - no cover! (I had to make it a separate selectable object first, in Blender, ...of course)

Would anyone know the cause of this error? In 3dsimed I tried to edit some track tarmac textures, close some poly holes (closed them in c4d) and save back to kn5 in 3dsimed, everything looks ok, but when I start the game I get this:

I just downloaded the Lancia 037 Rally JGTC 1994 at Assettoland. Very nice car. But I noticed that you can't see the environment in the outside mirror on the driver's side. Is that fixable?

Perhaps it would have been nicer of you to offer BLM as an option instead of a sarcastic reply. I won't dwell on this but you are usually quick to moan if no one helps you with an issue or does exactly what you have done here.

@twobegreen Try this and use the mirror option to adjust the image https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/blm-car.23472/

As long as someone enter in 'our community', for the first time, asking for something without saying at least, hi or hello,
will always get a similar answer by me. I didn't offend anyone! Just can't stand uneducated persons.

And I will not change my opinion about it, because of what you think!

Since modders hang out here, I'd like to ask a few questions and make some requests.
Are we ever going to see an Isdera Commendatore 112i mod for AC. I mean only one game ever had the car and there is just one of it.
Forza Horizon 4 sure has been a blessing for AC. There are some popular supercars that have mods but they're not really great quality. I hope people will start working on them. I'm speaking of the following: F1, Carrera GT, Murcielago SV, MC12, F50, XJ220, etc.

It's a useful little app for sure.

Seems my communications skills must be lacking because I had asked about this here and RD previously I think without answer, so, another 2 questions that remains unanswered for me that I would dearly like resolved... and I will take a little more time to ask them this time ;)

1. (chair/body/seat/helmet) (whatever AC calls it) movement up/down/forward/backward in cockpit view.
Is there an app that allows this to be bound to controls instead of having to bring up the side menu app in game?

2. Can FFB increase/decrease be mapped to a controller instead of using the side menu app and clicking with a mouse.

Both questions because its a PITA for fire up a car in the rig (especially in VR) only to find out you have to cancel the race, remove the VR, bring over the damn mouse and screw around in the menu system.

1. No

2. maybe using a button to joy keymapper, other wise use numpad+ and numpad-
