Dear mod teams,

I wonder if it is possible for you to help me out with this question please.

I love this car. I think it is an amazing concept car - I would love to use it along with GT3 races. Is there a way to "take off" the light skin covers (the black covers over the lights). It is a dds file and shader in the skins directory. Is it possible to make it transparent or remove it with an ext_config file please or would it need a kn5 mod to do that? I have sim3ded but dont want to mess with anything.

I tried that on a car before and the settings changed things like steering size and wipers that stuck out way in front of car - just saving it in Sim3DEd.

Seems my communications skills must be lacking because I had asked about this here and RD previously I think without answer, so, another 2 questions that remains unanswered for me that I would dearly like resolved... and I will take a little more time to ask them this time ;)

1. (chair/body/seat/helmet) (whatever AC calls it) movement up/down/forward/backward in cockpit view.
Is there an app that allows this to be bound to controls instead of having to bring up the side menu app in game?

2. Can FFB increase/decrease be mapped to a controller instead of using the side menu app and clicking with a mouse.

Both questions because its a PITA for fire up a car in the rig (especially in VR) only to find out you have to cancel the race, remove the VR, bring over the damn mouse and screw around in the menu system.

Things get lost amongst all the posts here but I see Gzero has you covered. Nothing as far as I'm aware for the seat moving thing - just the usual numpad controls (i think)

Just an account of my "routine" with this...

I use VR. My mouse is on a surface to the right of me and I can easily "find" it without taking off my headset. Any time I get a new mod/car, I select it and launch a practice or hot lap session. After using the mouse to check and adjust the car's initial setup, I begin the session and select one of the four HUD presets (the four squares at the bottom of the right pop-out menu) that I set up to show the driver position, smart mirror, and force feedback apps, and I adjust the first two as needed. Then I return to my "driving" HUD setup by selecting a different square I configured. After driving the car a few laps, if I feel the force feedback needs to be adjusted, I just grab my mouse, change HUDs, and adjust the settings for the car. I don't have to cancel anything, and I do all of this while in VR. It's just a routine I follow with every new car, and there's nothing frustrating or difficult about it.

I've set up my four HUD presets this way...

1. No apps at all, just a clear view like you'd experience in real life.
2. My main driving apps, with timers, map, tires, gas, etc.
3. Driver position, Smart Mirror, Force Feedback
4. Sol and CSP apps to change time of day, weather, etc.

I also use the virtual desktop that's available in the main Oculus app, so I never have to leave VR, even when I exit a session and return to Content Manager. I would never think of not using a mouse during a session, even while in VR. It's easier and faster to use, rather than toggling or scrolling through things using buttons on my wheel or other input device.

The first version of the Fiat Panda 900 i.e. car mod is here :)

You can download it at the following link on RaceDepartment: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/fiat-panda-900-i-e-1992.36847/

Enjoy it!

Only had opportunity to drive your awesome car now.
Very enjoyable overall. I like the and how chassis rooling. Impressive the driving sensation, just amazing.
Top fun driving on the edge, throwing the car for the corners and how it 'complains' :)

Last word for the dashboard. The instruments luminosity is perfect. The ambient is how I remember.

However I have a complain.
The car was made from scratch and is brand new. I feel cheated, look at the kilometer counter. 102962. :odd:

Great mod. Thank you.

If you have BLM Cars and BLM Lights you can fix the mirrors. I did.
If you don't have both, get them. It's a must, really usefull APP. 👍

I'm speaking of the following: F1, Carrera GT, Murcielago SV, MC12, F50, XJ220, etc.

Every single of the above has been reworked extensively over the years, there is a good version of all of these already. Not Espirit GT Convert quality but are mostly Kuno's quality already.

Many many thx mate for this very useful tips, this magic number not just solve this issue, but quite often I see cars rim color looks awful and with same magic number , now it's back to normal including iconic car M3 GTR!!

Just checked the release and it looks like the shaders are wrong
It is supposed to look like this

Maybe if enough NFS fans asked or some modder got permission to fix it, that would be great. Even somewhat smoother that bit would be challenging.
By the way, look what I've done. It had to be done.

I wonder if anyone is working on the Isdera Commendatore 112i.

I'm lovin' this. My first PS1 racing games were Destruction Derby, NFS II and Rage Racer. I cannot tell you how many times I've played VS mode against my uncle on this track. I was still a kid at the time and I would always choose F50, and my uncle would pick the F1 because it has the highest top speed. I can't figure out why I can't catch him no matter how hard I press the X button

We already have the full car list from the first NFS in AC, thanks to A3DR. It would be amazing if we could also get the same for NFS II: Isdera, Ford GT90, Ford Indigo, Italdesign Cala, Italdesign Nazca C2...

On that note, it would be cool as hell to start seeing more tracks from arcade racing games making their way to AC. Just because they were designed with arcade physics originally doesn't mean we can't have fun with realistic physics.

Heaven & Hell from RR4 would be amazing. Sort of like Nurburgring and Trial Mountain had a baby. Maybe the jumps need to be smoothed out a little tho :P

Hmmm, there are a few cars with center wipers pivot, doing 180º cleaning.

Ok, Champion wiper on a Fiat Panda or Audi A2, sold by this fellow.

there is a GT90 and the BMW Nazca C2, along with the Lotus Esprint V8 and the Ferrari 355, all that is missing is the Ford Indigo, Ford Mustang Mach III, Lamborghini Cala, and the Isdera 112i

@twobegreen Try this and use the mirror option to adjust the image https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/blm-car.23472/

Thanks a lot for your help. I downloaded the app and tried to adjust the mirror with it. But no matter how I changed the values, I never get a clear picture, only some stripes. So far this is the only mod where this has happened. I'm surprised that nobody noticed that so far.

As long as someone enter in 'our community', for the first time, asking for something without saying at least, hi or hello,
will always get a similar answer by me. I didn't offend anyone! Just can't stand uneducated persons.

And I will not change my opinion about it, because of what you think!

Hello! You are right, of course. That was my fault. I apologize for it.

i forgot about the Lotus GT1, there is a race version but not a street version which looks abit different

Which means the mirrors on that car are borked and the app can’t fix it.

The effect was pronounced on the bmw because the glass for rainfx is on every window from inside) and good that you tested it in more sunny conditions than me. That evening when i posted my addon, i was busy with fixing a clash with external window tint which was giving greenish rain on windscreen in csp 0.1.65. but on 1.67.without issues :D.

how? i have to check (or you can check) if CSP config has access to that flag, that would be hassle free method. If not , you'll have to unpack car's kn5, set the flag and resave the new kn5. Or, for ambitious ones, by hex editing values in a file, without unpacking. If someone knows the offsets :D. Eg, for that m5 e34, to hide the left wiper cover (that contraption on top :D) you just change the 160th bit after the object id to "0" :D(but that knowledge it's not really useful in everyday use LOL)
If you want to see that, you can change that hex value in my patch file and voila - no cover! (I had to make it a separate selectable object first, in Blender, ...of course)

It would be also better to Render = "False" also the attach not only the cover

But as just stated by @hellothankyou only because he has created more istances for each object likes real objects.

Nice @hellothankyou

Nice that you guys care (about crazy unnecessary topics :D) and understand me :D. You can play with modding Assetto models in many ways and aspects and that is cool :) And i am just self-educated noob :D.
(@flyingsaucer - it was quicker to make the cover just as one part ...but then after removing it, the wiper blade part (which is usually covered) looked very poor :D, so at least i left some decals imitating mounting clips or whatever).
The addon, in form of an alernative version of the patch, can be of course (as usual) simply used with ext_config. If someone wants the wiper with less obstructing view, let me know. (I haven't uploaded 2 versions at once, because i wanted to save people multiple choices headache at the first release "what why and whatever" :D

Since modders hang out here, I'd like to ask a few questions and make some requests.
Are we ever going to see an Isdera Commendatore 112i mod for AC. I mean only one game ever had the car and there is just one of it.
Forza Horizon 4 sure has been a blessing for AC. There are some popular supercars that have mods but they're not really great quality. I hope people will start working on them. I'm speaking of the following: F1, Carrera GT, Murcielago SV, MC12, F50, XJ220, etc.

The Forza series is a treasure trove for unusual / cool cars in HD. Always wanted to see these in AC, alas I'm so **** at importing stuff I'll just dream about those for the time being :

- Alpine GTA Le Mans
- Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spider
- Alfa Romeo SZ Sprint Zagato
- AMC Rebel 'The Machine'
- Aston Martin DBS '69
- Austin FX4 Taxi

It's happening because every new object have Pivot rotated 180 degrees on Z axis, or objects is rotated on Z axis of 180 degrees

This is a great idea. I have my mouse available like you and use the Oculus Virtual Desktop. Could you please tell me where and how I set up a HUD preset?

It's actually not very complicated. While driving a car, move the mouse over to the right of the screen for the menu. You'll see HUD preset selections next to the bar, at the bottom of the screen. You select one and activate and position the apps you want for that view. You can also select what's turned on with each setting in Content Manager, but you will still need to position and size them as you want.

The images below are from a screen capture, not while in VR, but it works the same way for both. For some reason, these images imported a little too small, but if you flip through them, you'll see each of the different squares highlighted at the lower right, just above the red down arrow button.

Can't agree with you with the MC12 especially. I've looked. Can you share the links for which you consider best available?

re: encryption of mods

I do not advocate encrypting mods (100% scratch is exemption), however...

I do see one use case that could be used, and that is beta releases. As evidenced here on GTP, a person releases fooCar beta, then 10 people create new versions, 2 of those fixes go to the mod... and 2 other "mods" based on that unfinished beta get forked into some other "version". This creates much of why I had 12 versions of a Porsche 961, all of which were messed up by 100 people first... until the (?) author got around to releasing his interpretation.

Even I have cars I want to release in beta to show and share, but have no idea when I will get back to them... but dont wish them to get out and modded and released in some form that is/was outside my intention or otherwise very "beta".

anyway...
back to coffee, 3dSimed and a fresh herbal "balancing"... cheers.
