You are making an assumption that this Arch bloke is better at physics than Aris and makes cars more realistic...
Having tried some of his physics upgrades i don't think he does.
How you'd know any of this using a controller anyway Goodness only knows.
Regards Iija about £1 per CM donation at least, plus 2-3000 patreons support of at least £1 per month, £2000 plus per month from that.
And you only need look at how much Jimmy Broadbent gets donated per live stream to see most people donate more than £1.
I'd say whatever Iija tells the taxman its more than 20k he's made from an unlicensed game upgrade.
Anyway point still stands, it's not yours or anyones sim to tell people what they can and can't do with it..
I noticed some interest in requests for the Peugeot 908. The only easily available one is at Assettoland. I have had a real interest in these cars and been using NeilB1971 LMP pack, making the cars work and putting some grids together. The 908 mod from Assettoland posted here by YETIsaj back in page 1052 had some good work done on skins for 2007-2009 but the car didn't feel right and lacked grip especially front downforce in fast corners.
After much time and work I completely overhauled all the data/physics:
-engine now has higher boost pressures as expected in the real 908.
-torque curve adjusted in conjunction with boost to simulate engine 703bhp and 1200Nm torque.
-centre of gravity slightly adjusted
-aero completely reworked
-ai redone
-suspension and setup completely reworked
-fuel consumption, inertia, brakes etc adjusted
-some slight changes and addition to drivetrain ratios
-tyres completely redone in line with Kunos LMP1 standards
-enduro lights added to the side lights
-Extension config for CSP for audio volume adjustments and interior night light.

The car really needs the assistance of the skills from the likes of flying_saucer to get working wipers to be complete.
If we can get this done then I can complete and upload a 30 car 2007 Lemans grid.

Sound is from Ford Transit mod by ACFAN - diesel sound that varies from the Audis.
The base setup is close for qualifying, just adjust the Traction Control where you like it.
The 908's competition partner is also updated with BoP. Many thanks again to NeilB1971:
Audi R10.

If you already have the YETIsaj mod and the Audi R10 from NeilB1971 pack then these will overwrite so back up first if you want to preserve the old data.
3/4ths of that post were informative, 1/4th of it was calling someone who has done nothing but fill the community with garbage. If that's toxic to you then feel free to report my posts, seems like the moderators aren't very fond of my way of talking either.Thought I could ignore this guy... what a toxic tone for everything!
How do I go an "ignore" please.

Nice!! but unfortunately no TV cam or replay cams
Last time you said it was 1 million, now 20 thousand. What happened with the 980k since then?
This shows quite well how much you're thinking before you say something.
Why do you compare Ilja's case to Reiza? There's nothing common in them.
Reiza bought the SMS engine to build and sell a new racing game. The income will be their income, quite simple.
Ilja has made a new launcher for AC (because it was useless) which was published on the official Kunos forum.
He was highly supported (like any other modders), because Kunos' philosophy was to create a game which will be
long living through the continously polishing of the modders community. They knew of everything what he was cooking.
They knew he was doing rain and night, which were IMPOSSIBLE WITH THIS ENGINE. Any moment they could have stopped him. But no,
they decided very wisely let him work because he is a genius, and the game will be so utterly good, it can be sold for many years.
And who is selling it, what do you think?
Don't panic, 505 Games loves Ilja.
I don't know why became it so popular to kick into Ilja lately. Without him maybe we wouldn't be here.
I'm very grateful to anybody for every little thing created for our hobby, I try to create myself to give back something, but this guy is
not doing skins or stupid animation (like I did) or camera sets, he is literally a game changer. Why are we jealous of his success?
hello can you please tell me where you can download the Lanzo V10 GTM
i took it down cuz it got some problemsArturi: ↑
Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2019 v0.8
Anybody there, who could upload this car again.
The download-link doesn't work anymore.

I really don't get where this... mood... against Ilja suddenly came out from.I wouldn't bother replying to people who think Ilja is rolling in money right now since they don't seem to have a great understanding of how being compensated for one's time works.
Ilja has a dayjob, when he gets home he works on the patch for as long as he can before passing out and starting his day again.
Every other one of his sessions can bounce between 5 hours and 8 hours of just testing and debugging, the minimum wage in the middle of nowhere USA is $9/hr.
So let's do the math, pre-rain his patreon was in the low 100s.
For 5 hours a day, assuming he worked every day of the week (as he does usually) we're already at just 100 dollars a month minus CM Donations (which are one-time only)
Back then he was getting paid $0.66/ hr if we assume all of the above is correct and that he was working 35 hours a week on the patch.
Currently Patreon's reporting he's at $3,593 a month but that's not as simple as you might think.
The patch isn't developed by just one person, he has one other person on payroll which is JPG_18 on Discord aka Jackson from IER and they split even on the earnings. So if he were keeping it all for himself he would just be making $23/hr which is a medium-range job position in the US. But since that's cut in half between them he gets $1795.5 a month, and $11.84 an hour assuming everyone here is being paid per hour and they work equal amounts (35 hrs a week on the patch).
You can donate $1 to get CM and currently the AC community's highest all-time peak in players was 8,697. x4 also worked on Content Manager way longer than he had to work on the patch so you can see where this is going. Even if we assumed every single player of AC bought Content Manager for $1< it still only gives him a one-time payment, and i don't believe it for a minute that everyone just bought it at the same time. So please let's stop painting Ilja as some money-hungry dollar vacuum that's got a mansion up in whichever frozen hole of Russia he lives in. Thanks
To clear things up i said 1 million and Rusty said it was 20k.... Actually.
He makes 2-3k a month from patreon and at least £1 per CM download, now the player base of AC is huge and i'd wager that a good 300k to 500k have now got CM...I doubt 100% of people only pay £1 for CM...so yeah...I recon my guess must be not too far off....
If he has only made 20k off of it in 2 years or whatever then he's doing something wrong...
BTW i don't mind if he makes that much from it, i have no issue with that... just its simple fact that he paid no licence fee to use the base sim...
So so far he's done very well avoiding any problematic run ins with Kunos...
As you say, they must be aware and must like him and most likely be lining up putting him on a payroll full time...
Lets hope so, and bring on AC2..
Thought I could ignore this guy... what a toxic tone for everything!
How do I go an "ignore" please.
One way: Right click mouse over the members name (in thread). Click on the above option. Will open a window with members details.
Press the 'ignore' option.

He wouldn't have to pay a license to use the base sim as he's not re-selling the game, Kunos is still profiting off people that are buying the game just to play with the patch so why on earth would they chase him down for a few pennies?
He's not in violation of any copyright so far as it's all been done in a clean room approach .
He's not doing something wrong, he's modding for fun and not for profit.
He's very much alive and kicking, just busy developing and fixing stuff. I report bugs to him every few days through a bit of a hotline he gave me to do so and occasionally chitchat. For now he seems focused on establishing CM Workshop as a thing, which will be like Steam Workshop but built into CM and curated so that it doesn't just become a landfill of Assettoland reposts.I wonder if he still is alive and kicking. I wrote him several messages of several topics we have had together in the past but no response. Neither on patreon nor on discord. Have you been lately with him in contact, is he still doing well? I only wonder since we´ve heard nothing from him since more than a month.

I'm using a specific car here, but it applies to many...
There are two versions of the 1937 ERA Type B. One at Velo's Mod Workshop and one at Legion's site. As near as I can tell, the Velo one is an update of the Legion one. Neither is well-documented as to origin, etc. My problem is not with where the model came from, etc. etc., but with how on earth do I know which one is better and/or more accurate? I've never driven a 1937 ERA and I can't even know what info the authors/updaters used in their modeling.
My immediate, if crude, question: are the Velo mods generally good?
My bigger concern: it would be really nice if mod creators and updaters would document their sources and reasoning. For example, "I changed the power curve in this direction because so-and-so's biography said such-and-such about the whatsit GP of 1937".
I don't mean to slag any mod creator because this is all about interpretation of -- usually -- incomplete data and "anecdata". It's probably impossible to know if a given model is accurate (whatever that means), but I'd like to understand the reasoning so I can make informed choices.
...and use your imagination as to what a racing car like the Type B would drive like. Both the Legion and the Velo versions are good enjoyable cars in my opinion. They are both free to try. On the whole both produce good cars to drive and I have collected all of them I enjoy Legion's Alfa P3 Monoposto Tipo B, but I know the real car doesn't squirm under power in a straight line like the one in the sim.
EDIT: just tried both ERAs. Both are based on the same 3D model it seems. I prefer Legion's physics, even though the car seems a bit too torquey. Lap times at Goodwood are closer to reality in Legion's car.
i took it down cuz it got some problems
.I doubt 100% of people only pay £1 for CM...so yeah...I recon my guess must be not too far off....
The insanely low grip of many of the vintage cars does bother me. I haven't driven a race car, but I have driven for decades in snow and ice. Some of the older sim cars have as little grip as a real RWD car in the worst slick ice conditions even when they're on a dry track.
Could i be so bold as to ask what the issues were, as I downloaded it at the time and i personally felt it was a brilliant drive. Great mod IMO.
...would be i fire up CM one day and find Kunos had changed some lines somewhere and it was unusable
I say leave mod-fixing to people who can do more than press the download button on every piece of content they see![]()
Only advice is that if you can't find the data to verify which is most accurate, then use benchmarks. Choose a test track and set fast laps with reliable cars, the ones that you can verify data for, then use the 2km drag strip to test acceleration. Once you have a list of useful times then you can use that as a benchmark for new content, you'll then quickly realise what is realistic and what is not.
There is a warning that comes with this however and that is you will quickly find how horribly inaccurate most mods are, for example most mods don't take drivetrain power loss into account and a remarkably large number of mods create zero aerodynamic drag.
