i like em. sounds of cars in game/ irl arent a high priority for me as long as the is actually good to drive. i hate it more when manufacturers add fake car noises to their vehicles to make it sound "meaner". feel like professional ricing imo.

How about a "adding a more realistic noise"? A friend of mine built a 1/4 scale Hawker Hurricane RC aircraft, electric brushless motor powerplant. He installed two 4" acoustic speakers on-board with software that mimics the real aircraft. It sounds more realistic than any current RC combustion Hawker on the market......

honeslty thats impressive bc u managed to do all that with an rc plane. but there is a difference between putting a cool sound on something thats obviously not supposed to sound like and making a sedan or sports car sound like its has a v8 engine instead actually puttung a v8 in the car. makes it come of as very poser-like and and that the guy with fake v8 is trying to prove to everyone at the local car meet that he has a big penis

True enough. That's just my standard response to electric car hate. I guarantee most petrolheads would sing a different tune if they got the chance to drive a Tesla, and I'm not alone in that belief. If you enjoy driving, you will enjoy driving a sporty electric car very much, I have zero doubt about that. It also makes plenty of cool electric car noises when you're in the cabin. :)
I've got A BMW M6, so a Model S was on my list until I learned that the damn thing goes into "limp-home overheat" mode anytime you do more than the brief acceleration runs you've tried. I've driven them several times and, while the accel is impressive, it's basically a big boat of a car with iffy brakes, that's totally unable to shed the battery/motor heat caused by even a single lap at a track.

I've never seen a single one at the many tracks days I've attended. Another doctor told me he tried to take his to COTA, but the 5000lb weight so cooked the brakes that it caused several thousands worth of (not covered by warranty) damage. He got a 911 Turbo S later. It did better ;)

These cars are fine for street driving, but they are hopeless at a track - even for mild use. And when driven hard, those batteries deplete fast.

This having been said, my next car is a BMW i8. I like it because 3 cyl's actually sound OK (plus they use that fake sound **** through the speakers) and it delivers similar-to-M6 performance with 30+ mpg. And it recharges itself. And my wife thinks it looks cool.

Guys do bring i8's (occasionally) to our track days and they do pretty good, though you have to decrease the regenerative braking to get them to turn right. Any car I own has to be able to do at least 2 laps at COTA without immolating itself. The Tesla doesn't make that grade. By the middle of Lap 1 (or any course that's reasonably long), it is well and truly done for the day (due to heat buildup triggering limp mode).

Has anyone gotten their hands on this mod?

Or even a similar one? I tried to look for these guys or even a website where to buy it, nothing comes up...

Here I am again to "rompere le palle" (however you say it in english) with the 911 :D

That "deep shaite" guy (Mac Ten) done it again: this time with the Porsch 911 3.0 1973

look around for "1973 Porsche 911 rsr 3.0 SVRA group 6 race car"

The 3D model is excellent, it seems a bit "stiff" when it comes to driving, but maybe I did not spent enough time on the setup... done a few laps on the Florio, on the nordschleife and on a few rally tracks.
On the Rally tracks, after enabling the hanbrake (at 1300) it performs very well, but on the florio and N.Schleife it seems a bit unstable on braking from high speeds.
...anyway, a keeper IMO... nice feel overall Compliments to the modder!

The mod lacks skins, so if someone needs some, just ask, I've done a few for my amusement and relaxation :)

Worth trying:

Well, yeah? I don't recall saying anything about them being a good track day car.

Bernese Alps update, all ribbons plus reverse layouts:

alps_layouts.jpg

Optimization, fixed hotlap start, fixed ai line, made nicer map, fix for slowing down right before start/finish, fixed transparency.

"alps" track v0.5alpha
- no reverse AI - by nobody
- divided into seven layouts: free and with forward+reverse: long, medium, short
- ai for all three "Forward" layouts by some kind guy
- added physical walls all around, no sticky walls anymore
- added 12 grid slots, now 24
- added new lights
- attention! NO AI for "Reverse" layouts
-> but correct "side_l.csv"+"side_r.csv" for all reverse layout already included
-> please @ some one make these three missing AI lines, thx !

http://www.mediafire.com/file/5xsg9l8kvo7gr16/alps_05alpha_missing_reverse_ai.7z

(minor known bug: split times not working)

Haven't yet tested it myself.

Bernese Alps are pretty well optimised now. I'm over 110 fps all the time (triple setup). It looks good too... nice improvement overall... :)
Good to hear! How are the separate ribbons and hot lap starting positions? That was always a disappointment with the original release, that it was basically one big freeroam and hot lapping started by getting dropped from a hot air balloon.

the hot-lap position is good. you start on the final corner before the straight. during races on the medium course the laps don't progress, so you're endlessly racing against the AI

Ah, OK.
v0.5 alpha so still being worked on, I guess.

I only kept three layouts (L-M-S), no reverse or freeroam. Hot lap starts halfway the long corner before the last bridge. Time starts running immediately, but resets when crossing the line. It's the same for the three layouts.
No confusion possible for the separate ribbons, they are well marked.

I have not raced yet, but I see that ai fast lane and pit lane are present (and updated).

you can change where you start your lap position in Content manager now, there is like an alternative place, either from the track or from the pit.
Wow, that guy, that does the Alps, needs to give seminars to modder on how to optimize tracks, he his a wizard.
That track is loaded with details and features and still as optimized as any track out there. truly amazing

it is the best version so far. the AI does seem to sometimes unnecessarily brake on the turn before you get to the cliffside and during nighttime the lights on buildings seem to go in and out.

I don't *think* it's the original modder (ДЯДЯ ДИМА) who's responsible for these updates. It might be leBluem, he posted them on the shader patch discord. Whoever it was, I hope they also look at Maple Valley, Rio and Prague too. Still hoping for someone to do the Dubai fictional track from FM7 too.

I always had pretty good performance at Bernese Alps anyway, certainly the best of that batch of FM7 tracks. Be interesting to see just how much it's improved. There was also another conversion of this track in the works by Mike Rudland and Dareks, but that seems to be in perma-delay. It's probably redundant now.

Edit: unless this track IS that one, lol. Do the flags around the track say 'Assetto Corsa' on them..?

No they are Forza flag.
I also commented to Lord Kunos about his comment on the patch. I felt form my chair when I read what is wrote.
