Is this the aa_portland_final version? If so, the reason the lights don't work is that the light_series entries in the ext_config file are inactive. You need to go through all the light_series entries and change Active = 0 to Active = 1. If you don't know how to do that, I can post the edited file with those entries set to Active.

Who makes an extension file with all the 'goodies' and then sets them to inactive !? :odd:

EDIT: author is @Blamer v1.1. He doesn't do that. But it was a 'new' version since I also had the original still there and there all lights and stuff were active.
The 'new' config (also v1.1) has added rain_FX and something must have gone wrong there.

thanks for the tipp, but the problem is i dont have the vrc revenga r13. are you allowed to share the sfx files ore not? if so could you maybe share it with me? or do anyone know how i can make a sound mod from the rollovers oreca 07 work with that one?

yes I already talked about this problem, a friend who plays in VR also has this problem in the right eye with the windshield wipers created by CSP, the 1.77 should be released soon I do not know if it has been corrected, I will send him a message
Thanks - if you remind him that it worked fine when first introduced, that might help him fix it.

Looking back at earlier messages in the thread, I think it might NEVER have worked in VR (in the Rift CV1, anyway)

I ask for your advice. I make skins for Aston Martin DBR9. Unfortunately, only the model originally from Forza Motorsport is available for AC. There are a number of problems with it. My problem is with incorrect paint reflection in some parts of the model. The problem is in the transition between textures, there is a wrong angle of reflection. Problem areas are marked.
Can you please advise me where the problem is?

The names on the side of the car, I guess some transparency got lost?
Also, The 15 car should be Jacky Ickx + Clay Regazzoni.

WAKE UP MR. WOOD, you are dreaming... or am I? As I look out of my chalet style room to the world outside it seems I am awake... confused (but I smell fresh coffee). Clearly I see what looks like Spa's famous Eau Rouge... but also what seems to be the Hockengheim complex... WTF! This is indeed where real-life meets fantasy as track designer Tantra has put together the ultimate track of dreams. Imola's Tamburello flowing into the sharp left of Mixtos into Suzuka's S-Curve spitting you out into Hockenheim's grandstand lined Motodrom complex, into La Source through Eau Rouge down to the Variente Ascari and wrapping around the shapely Parabolica of Estoril.

If this is the Legion model, be advised that the bodywork is not all the same material, so first thing to check is that the shader type/properties and textures match on each section of the body. I don't have the issue you've shown on my version of the car, although I did re-work it about a year ago but don't remember having this problem.

Just let down in a few places with stretched/squashed logos, cel-shaded tree walls with trippy shadows, and a pixellated horizon wall straight from Minecraft.
Nothing a man of your calibre cannot fix, of course... ;)

To all 3D modellers, I have a question.

I know SolidWorks, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD etc... the usual stuff. But never tried 3DsMax...

My question is, do you guys make these models on 3dsMax or Blender, Maya etc. And does it hard to learn those? I used to work on NURB modelling for manufacturing. But I think 3DsMax and Blender has different mechanics for designing...

For a beginner, which sources you suggest to begin with? I tried Udemy but maybe my methods or maybe their instruction I can't do stuff fast enough that I want to do.

And to adapt those skills to modding, does 3dsMax is good?

for sure it needs a ai_hints.ini seems. A false floor will fix the gapping. I tried to fix the logos... no dice... wanna try?

Some remapping is needed, eg the 2:1 Marlboro logo gets used elsewhere as a 4:1.
No idea why track creators do this, lol.

probably an issue with the model's normals (the actual 3D mesh normals) and not related to the textures.

EDIT: author is @Blamer v1.1. He doesn't do that. But it was a 'new' version since I also had the original still there and there all lights and stuff were active.
The 'new' config (also v1.1) has added rain_FX and something must have gone wrong there.
I'll have to try a session with rain at night with the lights active and see if there is an issue. If not, then I don't know why they would have been inactive other than just whoever added the rain effects didn't want the lights on.

EDIT: Works fine.

Thanks for the updates - great car.
Unfortunately, in VR the new CSP windscreen wiper doesn't render properly in the right eye. It's not your fault, it's an ongoing fundamental CSP issue that's been around for ages and hasn't been fixed despite several CSP updates since. I've messaged Ilja about it in the past but haven't had any response.
@__EASY__ do you know if he's aware of the issue and/or is trying to fix it? It's a little bit annoying as it affects all cars with CSP wipers in VR. I'm sure the very first iteration of CSP wipers didn't have this issue - I successfully added wipers to a few cars when the config method was first introduced, and I wouldn't have bothered if they were glitched from day one.
Oh. I also have vr but i didnt know that!
CSP wiper config is much easier even though it has some issue yet!

So this tip works for every circuit where these parameters into extension file are inactive?
Now I "turned on" the Portland lights (and material) and all works good! Now I try for example with aa_phoenix_raceway.
