ACF is working on Mallory Park

He's getting fed up with random dislikes though, and might not release some tracks.

"If you give dislike
then why don't you write why?
I can't do better this way.
I will now release the mods with dislikes without comment no longer"

I suggest we give positive comments and encouragement on his videos if we want to be able to eventually race these tracks.

And anyone that don't know, there's a difference in look/color in sunrise and sunset - with the sun being in the same horizontal position.

Exactly. I created my pp filters by color temperature, 2000k to 10000k, solar noon, winter/summer solstice...then i lost all my work due to a hard drive crash and never went back to it.

I say get off of You Tube and stop with the endless teasing. Do what ACU does and then maybe he'll get what he's looking for.

Yeah i really hate the fact that awesome mods gets a ton of dislikes, kinda like the L4D2 workshop.

Some mod has replaced all the pit crews with PS1 quality grid girls holding signs that are at least 2 miles in size. I've gone looking through a whole bunch of files and can't find a way to get rid of this and I have no idea what caused it in the first place. Can anyone help? As you can see, this is as good as a total game breaker, as these signs are animated and drift across the race circuits. This is just me in practice mode, now imagine a full grids worth of these floating around :banghead:

Use this:

Extract to assettocorsa > content > objects3D

It should give you the original pitcrew back.

It was the ACFL Ford Legends car (N.Navarro / Steph29) that gave me the same issue some two years ago:

pitgirl.png

It's an extra zip in the files and I had to try ... :gtpflag:
Took me a wile to get the original pitcrew back...
(But I don't recall having these HUGE signs she's holding in the pic you you posted).

For everyone else: here's the mod. It's worth having, fun to drive/race.
Just don't install the objects3D part (unless you really like the above)

Link is in the comments.

Grab it while it is there, gone is gone...
Pretty much look like Ridge Racer to me by the looks of the pit crew model.

I just had a look at that video, and yes, I see some "issues" with the build.
The most obvious is to big polys on the track surface... you can see it on the turns... they doesn't look smooth. (see the white lines on each turn how "squared" they are)

But again, this is no reason to dislike the video, and again, it is childish of the author to take likes and dislikes seriously on youtube ?!?

Anyway, keep always in mind that track builders spend thousands of hours to give at the end their work for free for all of us to enjoy.

I have always put the following EULA on my tracks:

End User License Agreement (EULA)
=================================

- This project was made for using it as it is, feel free to use and host it as long
as the package was not modified or attended by any AddOn releases.

- Conversions, updates/upgrades and/or modifications of this version aren't allowed,
whatever the destination platform, without PRIOR written permission of the scratch
autor and the conversion team.

- Any kind of usage in "blacklisted" communities isn't allowed,
this includes "hosting" as well as Gameserver usage.

- I accept no responsibilities for losses or damage resulting from the use of any of my versions.

If the release is a team build:

This version is the result of the unlimited working hours spend by different people
all over the world at their leisure time.
Any little puzzle peace of the resulting version is discussed by all team members involved.

We’re offering the result of all these working hours to all of you free of charge,
but we ask for one single fee from your side:

***************************************************************************************************
*** This project is a “take it as it is, or leave it”-release. ***
*** Give a little respect to the working hours all of us spend for free for your entertainment! ***
*** Don’t modify/update/upgrade this version without our knowledge and permission. ***
***************************************************************************************************

We're always open minded regarding possible improvements, but we expect PRIOR discussion
with the conversion team as a normal behavior of polite people.
In our eyes it isn't such a big burden to simply drop a mail or PM to us in advance of spending
aditional working hours in modifying our work.

Unfortunately we've made some bad experiences regarding people thinking something free of
charge also mean "free of any immaterial value".
So these people modified and announced modified versions in public without any communication in advance.
In our humble opinion this a bad kind of behavior which misses any respect to the efforts of
everybody involved in the current version.

The missing support of the administration of some communities in such issues leaded into our
decision to stop our support for theses communities.
So we "blacklisted" these communities for any kind of usage (Hosting / Gameserver usage and so on)
of our working efforts as followed below.

Blacklist of Communities not allowed to use/host our projects

So really, take it as it is or leave it... simple as that ;)

...and yes, a like is the minimum you can do for someone that gives something for free... if you don't like it, just move on ...

What tracks have you done for AC? I don't knowingly have any, but I probably do own some without realising they're yours.

none for AC... I stopped building tracks a few years ago.
I done mainly GTR2 / GTL / rFactor tracks... loads of them
If you write "gstaraz tracks" on youtube a list of some of them should appear

anyway, just a few days ago I found a guy that offered to convert some of the tracks to AC, so I hope shortly they will be available for all to enjoy (or dislike hahaha )

EDIT:

here a few links:

...etc...

Did you upload them to e-sport GTR 2 data base

yes, I checked now, and a few of them are featured in esport-racing.de ... I myself never uploaded them there, but no problem for me with that.
They should be considered almost public domain after so many years :D

'tho there are many that were shared only internally between a few modders at albierbude and hosted only for private races since I used a lot of simbin and rockstar official objects on them, therefore they could not be published without going through tons of agreements and legalities with the two parties ... I just didn't cared, so let them remain "internal"... it was a hobby after all, and there were more than enough tracks that could be published without all the legal hassle...

I think the first step would be opening up a Rar file.
Because once you do that, it's fairly straight forward and all the folders are in there.

New update:
DISCLAIMER: Graphics mods, ReShade presets and PPFilters are always a matter of taste. I'm not saying this is the best mod out there, but I personally like my settings more than anything available.

Anyway, this is Solstice, my personal enhancement for Sol and the Custom Shaders Patch. Its origins come from my Project CARMEN graphics mod, but since things like weather and particle effects are now controlled from Sol and the SLP, it didn't make sense to downgrade that mod.

Solstice consists of these things:
A ReShade preset, a PP-filter, a Sol config and tweaked spark effects.

I'm also still tinkering around with it, but I also don't plan daily updates.... so don't worry that you have to download it again and again all the time.

Note: Backup the files in the install locations, so you can revert if you don't like the results.

Every file is needed to get the desired effect and everything works hand in hand.

This mod needs the Custom Shaders Patch & Sol.

This mod is tested with CSP v0.1.25-preview 129 & Sol 1.2.

Install: Drop the "assettocorsa" folder into X>Steam>steamapps>common and overwrite everything.

Drop the "Documents" wherever your usual "Documents" folder is located and do the same.

The ReShade preset will cost you some frames.
You can toggle it on and off with the W key, open its settings with Q, reload its settings with R and take a screenshot with S.

Hope you enjoy it!

That makes it look more like AC:C.

Also, what car is that in the 1st screenshot?

Hello It is almost impossible to extract the file once downloaded can you find a solution thank you very much

check your version of winrar or winzip and be sure it is the last one available... or even better use 7zip.. it opens almost anything

What causes purple sky? I've got a helicopter with working rotor blades (using stFlow) but the sky looks purple through the blades. Against the environment, the rotor blades look great.

A lot of the itasha skinners fell off the face of the planet, or had blogs which got deleted due to inactivity. I spoke with quite a lot of skinners a while back. PM me any skin you have in mind and I'll see if I can track down the author.

Most likely the shader settings used for the rotor blades is the culprit - try different shader settings in KSeditor for the rotor blades.

I have seen this issue with mods that have a wrong shader assigned to glass objects.

My long weekend is not starting very well. I cannot locate the Official Assetto Corsa Forums on the web. All links keep sending me to the Official ACC Forms. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Anyone else having better luck?

Cheers.
