Generating the encryption key takes you more time than decrypting it, if there was a safe way to protect your mods everyone would do it.

If you don't want to get ripped off, intentionally bug your mods so that when you export everything is broken.
EASY ain't the type of guy to know how to decrypt an encrypted mod. But he's the kinda guy that WILL encrypt your mod and pass it as his own.

So... Yeah. Bit useful when he's still around.

Every time I've had this happen, the culprit was an empty electronics.ini
(Hat-tip to @GzeroD and @_Bazza_ for explaining that)
Quick-fix is turn ABS off, in the in-game Setup menu before driving.
Permanent fix (for me, YMMV) is to populate the electronics.ini with something like the attached.
Pay no mind to the values that ARE set in the file. The ones that are unset (=0) for "active" and "present" will prevail.
Thanks for your help!
I'm going to try tonight! 👍

Hey Guys,

ASR made alot of F1 cars free, one of which, the F310, has only break glow on the right side. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

I have seen easy do more elaborate things than a decryption task, I wouldn't be so sure that it doesn't know how to solve it.

Anyway, partly if I'm okay with him hijacking other people's mods, the bare minimum is to name the original creator, since you're skipping the unwritten rule of asking the creator if you can modify their work, but that's another thing.

can anyone link me to a guide on how to encrypt but still let the previews work? or pm me how?
the best thing you can do in this case is talk directly to ilja on his telegram, he will give you encryption keys and tell you how to keep the preview.

I'm surprised no one tried this on Easy:
As soon as he posted an update, you could simply change a minor UI detail and re-release the car as your own+whoever+easy, with your own link, immediately after his post. You could have done it as many times as you wanted, until he got tired.

When he stole tracks, I never understood why people didn't reupload them, include his additions and then add a balloon or two...

Because 99% of his track are lifeless. All of them, without my (or updates from others memebrrs of course) config and cams where not CSP ready except for grassfx... He could be part of an amazing forum, and provide a lot of fun and great contents, but he preferred to work in a different way... so... yeah... bye...

Here is a skin for Mugello. The rest have already been given to you, good luck.
You shouldn't re-upload stuff that isn't yours without at least giving credit. I knew it was mine before I downloaded it to check. Just look at the flag5 texture, it has my name on it. I used to mark all my skins in some way. I doesn't matter now anyway.

Does this exist in AC? (Nissan 370z 50th Anniversary Edition)

I've added a few more skins for Deplinsky's version of the Toyota FT-1 Vision GT GR3
They are based on the Prefecture districts in Japan - There are 9 initial with more to come- All are fictional skins with real Japanese driver names

Edit: There are some minor errors in the skins due to the models mapping (rear mainly and tyre manufacture OS) but hopefully they don't detract too much

Eventually I'll put together a Gran Turismo type championship with them as well

Please feel free to use, amend and share if you so wish or dump if so inclined 🤔

Car is in same folder

Since it's on the topic I kind of stepped into it with Tobeka. I started on the ACTK conversion but reached out to Frasie who built the track and he wasn't too happy with the conversion and lack of credit. I didn't know any of the history.

So there will be two versions as Frasie has given me permission to convert Tobeka and Milbantos but I have also given one to Easy as I told him I would.
The Frasie version will be posted to Race department likely later this week but I had a few corrections to make and then had to read all this and think about how to handle it as I just want to mod tracks and don't want to step on peoples toes.

With Vancouver I never did find ZeroG but created the billboard to Credit the track maker so that it was clear who made it.

Great find. Many thanks man !

That did it! It was indeed the empty electronics.ini!!
Thanks again man, totally made my day 😃

Without sounding bad, I feel like encrypted mods are the real problem, with a few exceptions for things like leagues or servers using it for setup purposes. It takes a lot of nerve to collect so many others non-encrypted mods. As far as reuploading, I don't really see a problem. Who cares? I still download cars reuploaded. If only one thing has been improved is that not worth something? I know it is to me... As far as making commissions from downloads, how could anyone get bent out of shape if someone takes time to improve a mod you enjoy even if it's one small improvement. Isn't that the point to keep track of and upload new improvements? If anything, download commissions is an extra incentive for modders to help further improve on mods. The greed of some people just blow my mind. Maybe everyone should improve a mod and reupload it for commission and donate to the ones who work hard making Assetto Corsa what it is today... just my 2 cents

I think ideally what you should do if you’ve made an improvement to a mod and are a good samaritan is to contact the original creator and send them the improvement so they can reupload it as a new version.

Instead Easy takes it, makes his few minor changes, but instead of giving it to the people behind the original release he plants his flag into it without permission and hauls it off to his own links and websites and fragments the community further for no reason besides making a couple cents a download.

Then people want to encrypt their mods because of it and us regular folk can’t make minor adjustments or use the showroom anymore so we get punished for something out of our control.

There's another one that does this also... His name start with an L and finishes with "ucas" or something... 😅

Hello! I'm new to Assetto Corsa and just want to know one thing. I installed the Content Manager and Sol, followed the instructions.
I don't know if it's supposed to be like this or not.

The Sol filter makes the sky have more color and clouds more visible, but the car will have just red spots instead of brake lights.

The default filter makes the sky brighter and clouds less visible, but the brake lights are brighter and detailed.

Is this normal?

Try some different filters, I'd recommend A3PP, Javire's Photorealistic, and Exquisite.

I'm still confused as to how people can get so possessive about a model they stole from another game. Why do you care if someone else uploads it? Why do you want credit? Why did you convert it in the first place? It's one of literally thousands of mods for a computer game, something that should be a fun hobby and yet it generates hundreds of pages of bickering and moaning in this thread alone.

I work on modding cars/tracks to improve my version of Assetto Corsa, that is my only reason. When I finish something and if I think it's of reasonable quality then I'll upload it so that others might also get some enjoyment out of it, I genuinely couldn't care less what anyone else does with it. Maybe I'm just strange.

I agree. essentially, it's much easier to organize improvements if everyone was a "Good Samaritan" lol... unfortunately... Still to encrypt a non-pay mod seems petty and insulting. And since not everyone will obviously be a "Good Samaritan" I feel like that small incentive a few cents or whatever is a good compromise in terms of productivity.

Oh well.

What is really sad, is that some cars (more than 90%, maybe more, I am sure) come with errors and flaws.
As @Masscot pointed earlier with this image.

I have now ~50 cars tweaked by me to suits me better. At least those that I started to TAG them.
Many of them, changed from 2900 bhp to a decent stock driveable bhp. But, it is a purely personal taste.
Not criticism to the 4584 bhp cars. It's just, let me change it, please.

It is kind of frustrating, after spend some time, changing engine and (please add .ini at the end) tires, drivetrain, car, AI, lods,
lights (dashboard and headlights), electronics, instruments, Data Specs and Info of the car and whatever the mod need more, when I'm going to save the changes, I can't, because it is not possible to extract the kn file.:ouch:

And now, carry on to another modifying mod. :)
