I've been away from this forum and the AC modding scene for almost two years and without reading all the thousands of posts I've missed in that period, it seems to me now that a much larger number of "modders" are expecting to be paid for their projects via Patreon, Paypal, etc., etc. This appears to be the case even if it's not a scratch built original mod. Is my perception correct?
If so it saddens me a bit. I first got involved when the majority of folks were in it for the passion and joy of sharing and most had no thought of trying to get paid.

It also seems that RaceDepartment is more liberal in what AC mods they allow to be shared there. Is that true?
That is the sad reality I'm afraid. People/teams locking mods behind paywalls when they aren't even close to kunos standards (effectively making them a scam) and I feel a lot of them don't even bother to read kunos pipeline. Not to mention half-assed physics which is likely just copy-pasted from kunos cars (which aren't exactly the best source)

Many thanks!!! Great work as always!!!

But...maybe asphalt is a little too black ... couldn't it be lightened a little?

🙂

If anyone is interested in sending me some money, I'd like to buy a supercomputer so I can make some very average sim racing videos and then start a Patreon club which offers the chance to join my other more exclusive Patreon club with even more very average videos of nothing-in-particular.

But wait! There's more. The first ten subscribers will also get a chance to join both Patreon pages at a special discount price of just $200 a month!

It's a bargain... and something I've been working on for 250 years. C'mon. You know you want it! 😇

Please make sure to spam this thread with your videos rather than using the dedicated AC videos thread. You can easily get away with this by writing "hey guys heres a grate mod i found" before posting the video, and most people won't even realise it's nothing more than promotion of your awesome YouTube channel where people can watch you driving around and around a track instead of actually doing it themselves.
Damn, should have hidden this free advice behind a paywall... silly me.

While you're looking for the free advice vidfeo, don't forget to watch my other video on "Wy U Breaks Domt Worc", which is also hidden behind a paywall with even more spelling and punctuation errors than u cam poke a stik apt.

I've also added a new vidfeo called 'Xezez Reakshun to Himself'. It's fuly sik.

For free :)

I found my Ford Capri mod for rFactor converted by the famous SimDream group
have worked hard on it to make it better

Now also in street version, can be left and right hand driven, working turn signals etc
Works only with content manager and CSP 1.76 or lower, crashes in 1.77
(read that 1.77v1 gave some troubles? I don't have later version)

note: I am a amateur modder so this is the best I could do with 3DSimEd
the physics are the same on the road and race version

Also add some cool hashtags like Ultra Realistic Driving . Is this Real or a Game?
Ultra Graphics 4k Reshade Preset.

But dont forget to use mouse steering or the keyboard ;)

Then be prepared to answer all the youtube comments : Link pls??? , can you share settings,??
Wow this looks better than real life

Does anyone know of a better version of long beach.
Or maybe some extension to make the t21_long_beach version better.
Thanks
We ran a league race last night using this track (with the nrms update), beware that there are holes all over the mesh and many people ended up buried in walls/falling through the track with no escape. There is also a bit of an issue that the sectional wall edges stick out towards you, so if you brush the wall even slightly and catch the edge then your car stops dead and ends up at 90 degrees to the circuit. It was mainly carnage!

Sounds like a real life race at Long Beach 😉

I remember a lot of the holes were introduced between versions but I am almost sure they were fixed up at some point, this track is very fragmented now it seems. I personally haven't touched this track since I did the optimisation work in 2020, it wasn't meant to be released like that, lots more work needed doing and it was passed from pillar to post. So it sounds like the one I linked isn't the latest available with more fixes applied and such? I think @Mitch9 was going to start this track from scratch which would be very welcome but I don't know how far that is on or if it has been abandoned?

By the way, @gunnar333 fixed up the roundabout if that helps? I'm sure he won't mind me sharing that fix here:

Jandrovi is putting out content in a more regular way again, he has released the M1 with updated physics for free:

Check it out.

Thanks, definitely better.
Those high-pitched skid squeals though? Ouch. Much better when they're reduced in the config, IMO.
And when the rear lights are fixed.
This car really deserves more attention... working wiper, refractive lights etc.
Or converting from scratch from a better source.

hey, i hope you will see this message i would like to download the porsche 996 gt2 mod but it don't work ( the link ) can you send me please a new link ? and i don't know if you have a 996 turbo mod maybe ?

It might just be me but is anyone else noticing with his latest cars that the steering rod ratio isn’t lining up right? When I put 90* of steering input the car in game is at something like ~150* of steering input and under steering everywhere.

I know you can just change the steering lock to 360 in car.ini (I think) to bandaid it and this is by no means exclusive to his mods but that kind of defeats the purpose of a physics update IMO

Porsche 911 (996) GT2 Converted from Real Racing 3

If you can't download it press the black square it should redirect you to the download.

Phew took me a bit to do since I've gotten a lot lazier than expected
anyways here it is the car should be 100% like the real car in terms of specs
Not sure how much are the Physics realistic on the other hand tho it likes to oversteer
like the real 996 GT2 which is something. Also thanks to Beezer215 for testing the car!

Happy to do the 996 GT2 some justice as most of the time its kept under a rug
because of the '''Fried egg headlights''' i still don't listen to that nonsense.
This Porsche is definitely iconic because of its design sure its not on par with the classic
911 or the 993 but its up there.

The only stuff that needs to be fixed/added is:
Digital instruments mostly just the kmh digital gauge because there's no texture for it so it can be placed there since it wont overlap
any texture over it.
Better wipers the ones i did right now are meh its like the wipers are cursed i literally animated them to wipe the whole glass but they only wipe half of the glass.
Physics improvements as always.
The only bug if i should call is it is i feel like the rims shake too much but it could probably be just me.
Feel free to update the car always just don't forget to credit me and Beezer215!
