So after I lost some sounds from mods by replacing the original Kunos sounds with mods sounds (e.g SCIBSOUND from RD) and having Steam replace or repaired them all, my question is how can I enjoy new sounds (at Kunos Cars ) without destroying the original Kunos Sounds? Sorry for my bad english

only make a backup for the original sound in other folder

After you get updated sounds working for a mod, maybe make a backup copy of the new SFX folder, and rename it SFX update restore. If you use the mod later, and find the audio is missing after a Steam AC update, open the car's folder, and copy the files in your SFX restore folder back to the SFX folder, overwriting the files that aren't working.

What is the folder name for the mod that these skins are for? Maybe add a download link (if this isn't a Kunos car) to the mod for those that don't have it, or missed a past post that included it?

With "skins.zip" and nothing else, a directory structure, or at least a car folder name included, the only way to match it up is load the preview.jpg, then try to visually match that up with a thumbnail, looking for that triangle at the side of the front diffuser. I have 332 Porsches, so that can be a little difficult. These skins might even be for a Kunos car, but I just don't know.

They look pretty good. I'd hate to have to throw them out, as I often have to do with mods and updates where the person releasing them thinks everyone has some special ability to see "extension.zip, ext_config.ini.zip, skins.zip" and so forth, and know exactly what mod they're for. Sometimes 20-30 mods are downloaded at once, and if I'm not paying attention, I return to my download folder later to find obscurely-named files, and I have to search and backtrack, or use other investigative methods to discover what they're for.

I appreciate the mods and what's offered to everyone. Just the mod-sleuthing required to install some of these excellent mods and updates gets a little frustrating. I want to be sim-racing, not mod-sleuthing! :mischievous::eek::)

Looking for skins again...

Does anyone have skins for the Porsche 993 GT2, similar to those of Test Drive Le Mans ? (Especially for Roock Racing and Konrad Motorsport)

I always put sound mods in the MOD folder and enable them in CM.

A strange request, maybe impossible to solve...
This is the Ferrenzo 2007 from VRC (custom skin but it was the same problem with the original)

There's a problem with the shadows of the car that make it seems like it's floating on the track, eliminating all the illusion of a real drive that the game creates
it's not so clear from this pics but the problem is that shadow that nearly disappears near the mass of the tyres... you can see yourself if you like even with the highest shadow resolutions...

Any idea on how to solve this?
Thank you!

What about physiks do you like them ? I spend lot of time to make them fun , no so easy , but no so hard at same time ..
The Exige feels great Ben. It went straight onto my favourites list. 👍

As Fanapryde pointed out, I do think the audio levels of this and your other cars need revisiting. They are extremely loud compared to all other mods and/or Kunos cars. In fact, I just put an 18-car grid together with nothing but Guerilla GT2 cars and the result is a significant amount of digital distortion/clipping which cannot be eliminated by adjusting levels on the in-game audio app. I'd love you to see if that can be sorted out, because it spoils the racing unfortunately.

That issue aside, I find all the Guerilla GT2 cars really enjoyable cars to drive. Thanks! 😀

EDIT: Just to be clear, the cars sound really good. It's just the overall audio levels and the resulting clipping I'm pointing out. They're just way too hot.

I agree, the only complain I have with the GUE GT2s is the sound; with Quest2 speakers it's a mess of distorted/clipping audio that doesn't even let you hear what CrewChief says

Dobsina Hillclimb - rain and grass and vao and so on...

Track can be found at https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/home - credit goes as always to the creators / converters.
Just what I did for personal use to make a bit nicer, would be happy if it is useful for others as well.

Notice: Put a "highlands3.dds" file into the extension folder with the config.ini. for the grassFX.

A little WIP of a Porsche run in the 96 Lemans. It's not quite the right car, the rear wing is different than the car that raced, but it'll do.
This is to fit the Legion 993 GT2
New Hardware Racing/Parr Motorsport run 2 cars that year, as part of the 30 year commemoration of Mclaren/Amon's win in 1966
#71 finished 2nd in class, driven by Bill Farmer/Greg Murphy/Robert Nearn
A couple more logos left to find, then I'll get onto the #83 car which finished 4th in class.

Yes, @benbaron exactly this. Awesome mods, great sound... EARS BLEEDING! Lower the levels, as they seem to be almost twice the level of other mods. But keep up the AAA work. [Geesh, I sound a little demanding]

@xezez, So weird reading your post, as I had written the EXACT same thing, in so many words, maybe a little more. However the post was removed--something about promoting my own paid mod. That wasn't the case, but maybe it was removed because I responded to another post that was removed for that reason. IDK.

FIAT 126 race.

Two variants comprising of different engines and wheels and one has the rear engine cover lifted for cooling.
Both good for short tracks as run out of breath on straights but in corners they excel.
I had them both over gripped for a while and it caused the wheels to lift too much so I changed to semi slicks, which was a shame.
I will most likely fiddle a bit with that over tonight and tomorrow, as it felt a bit better with the slicks on.
It's based on a rally mod ported over from richard burns rally, and IMO it was wasted in that form, but regardless it won't overwrite that one anyway.
I love these little FIATs in race guise.
Again skins aren't great.
It has been lowered, semi slicks, rear brake lights in the rear window, new race seat fitted, bumpers removed.
The mod inside has some see through panels but you cant see it whist racing, it was how the mod was. I might try to fill with something.
Has side window removed as it gets hot with the engine right behind you, but has safety net fitted.
The one with the engine cover lifted I had to add in an engine as there wasn't one in there!
So it may need the shaders fiddling with possibly at some point.

Small but fat wheels.

Anyway its out there, load up the grid and pick a short track and have fun.
Its very stiff, like a skateboard, carries corner speed well and its all about momentum.

I'm taking these right to ZWARTKOPS! Should be a lot of fun on that track!

UPDATE-->Tested, a little rough around the edges, but it's really fun to drive.

This is an update that fixes the s1 version so the manual gearbox works. I haven't tested the other version yet.

I will be releasing to total overhaul for Dobsina soon :)
(I will try your addition but as far as I recall grass and rain is already final in my update. It will be uploaded to assettorallygrb as well)

The Exige looks good, drives well, sounds very nice.
The steering feels a tad light on my DD wheel.
In the drivetrain.ini [DOWNSHIFT_PROTECTION] I changed LOCK_N from 0 to 1 so -like in real- you can't accidentally shift in N or even R without coming to a complete stop.
But now I can't repack the data, could you change that in the data.acd ?
i can send u repack for u , I will anyway correct lotus right mirror , wipper anim , and some extensions lights worked by my friend

Thank you for your message !)

Thank you , glad to hear my fight with physiks the last 3 months were working out somehow ^^

I can try to make an audio extension to reduce the sound to kunos level maybe !
I am agree with that " extreme loudness "

Thanks, I'll check them out and do more testing on the Exige... but from memory it felt really good.
Edit: do you mean the BMW M2 GT2? The wiper still stutters at the 12 o'clock position.
Even if it's technically correct for the car, I really don't think vertical wipers are a good idea until this is solved, if it ever will be - the stutter is really distracting.
(The KTM's wiper is parked to one side so isn't affected)
are you sure ? Do you have the bmw m2 2.0 ? mine is not sluttering in middle now ?

Yeah well I'll upload it tomo then. Don't expect a quality mod and y'all won't be disappointed !View attachment 1175644 !

It's all about the story for me, my father when the europa was released love it so much. He said to my mother. One day we will buy a lotus europa and we will go on a road trip. Year after year he said it but never pulled the trigger to get a europa. Lots of great cars in the family but never a europa... My mother passed away and he drives the car with the picture of my mom on the side.. I saw this car in person and my father was there to see the gr 5 in real life. He always said it is not really a real lotus europa but a shell with a capri engine in the back..love its way of saying it.
