Somwhere along the line I borked the Motec display.View attachment 1254680View attachment 1254681Should look like this. Those black boxes are the same objects as the original (as are all the attributes I can find in Blender). Is the positioning of these elements (labelled FUEL, LAP TIME, GEAR...) relative to the panel critical? Tried moving them behind (like they would show through) but no.

WHEN on track, the data is being displayed behind the black boxes on the panel, so I thought moving them behind the panel, but then the motec panel remains empty. ???? View attachment 1254684

Anyone know what to do in this case? Black boxes bad.
you tried changing the texture to something null/invisible?

I had the exact same problem the other day. For me, I simply deleted the black boxes and all magically became good again.

Set blend mode to alpha test (or set transparency to true)

those are textures for the display numbers

Sorry, I know this isn't meant to be a troubleshooting forum but I'm a bit stuck on a couple of things and trying to work out what's going on.

First one; I have an issue with the occasional car (but, annoyingly, including the Ferrari P4 which is one of my favourites) where the mirror goes blurry as soon as it starts raining. This is with 'real mirrors' enabled (which is huge for immersion so I don't want to turn it off). Just a few drops are enough to make it instantly 'fog' up, but it's fine in dry weather. Latest CSP preview but it's been doing it for a couple of versions now, since 1.78pX. I used Pure, but have tried with the default PPF and plenty of others but makes no difference. I've tried deleting extensions and all sorts of settings but I'm at a loss.

Second one - I think this is me being a moron and overlooking something - when I use free head movement and glance at the dials at night they intensify in brightness by many, many times. Literally 1 or 2 degrees of angles goes from 'normal' to 'blinding'. There are no custom emissives from these gauges and it basically does it on all cars. Something to do with the 'treat as headlights' option?

Thanks for any help.

Anyone got any ideas what might've caused CM showroom to suddenly take ages to load? It generally used to open within a couple of seconds of clicking, unless a particularly unoptimised car was selected. But now it takes 30 seconds minimum for some reason, doesn't matter what preset or showroom I use, doesn't matter on the car either, it's just slow to load. Once opened it works fine with the rest of the functions running as before.

I've tried rebooting, cleaning the values storage, resetting all the showroom values and even deleting half my car collection as a test, yet nothing got things back to the way they should be. Does anyone know if CM is writing some logs or data somewhere that might be slowing down the system, I have edited well over a thousand cars at this point so if it is keeping track somehow then it seems logical that it might be the issue. I'd like to avoid re-installing unless as a last resort.

Can't help you sorry, just wanted to say I have the same mirror issue with this car (version from F40 LM_Lover)

Can't promise that. It's in the end a old GPL track that sometimes tells little stories with the 2d mates. Like the medics at the starting area.

Call an ambulance then. Nothing more to say, you were all right. It's the 1965 French GP.
Have you worked with PixSim on the track mesh for Charade's old long 8055m layout?

He began work on a LiDAR version a year ago or two, but he seems to have abandoned it (he did release the modern short version, but that's not as good as the old one) - Maybe he would gladly give you his cloud mesh?

Thanks to lorelord Badgerman & Short_CIrcuit (the Winna!) for the tips! Tried the last one first (alpha test), only did it to one of the 4 (in CM) and everything was like magic fixed :) Way too easy. I was all set to start panic-cut-pasting any time now... (love how you can have two models open in separate Blender windows and get stuff from one to the other!)

Does anyone have comments about any necessity/desirability of RE-unpacking with CM to .fbx once in a while (later versions in the dev line, new materials textures etc.)... or is it adequate to just keep working the blender file and the one-way-trip (export to .fbx then through KSEditor) to .kn5? I'm thinking that so many trips through that export tube could introduce a mis-interpretation somewhere, and the occasional re-unpack from CM of a working version would give it an extra sorting... (Am I crazy? I might be after spending so much time in Blender world. Wondering how that black box thing happened, since I had no intentional interaction with that at all to have broken it...)

EDIT: Actually, the error is still there on the Blender side, since I fixed it in CM. In looking at the blender side they use the term alpha blend not alpha test (same thing?) and everything seems ok. Perhaps a compelling reason for doing the above... (duh.)

No I haven't been with PixSim. I converted the NeelJ GTR2 version that is a convert of the GPL track. PixSim mesh probably wont fit. I smoothed the mesh because it was too bumpy.

Lebozan Rally Stage Spain - rain and grass and vao and so on...

Track can be found here: https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/copia-di-hungary-slovenia-serbia

This one is really quite good!
13 kilometers of rather narrow bumpy roads.
I guess it's a fictional stage but it's real fun driving.

  • You should be able to copy the files straight into you assetto corsa folder as long as you have the track installed. It will ask to override - backup your track if you want to keep the original files.

  • If the new grass still won't show check your assetto corsa folder: extension/textures/grass_fx. You should have a "highlands.dds" file in there, otherwise no grassFX.

Anybody know how to fix this issue where some spectators are untextured?
They show as a black "blob" in the distance.View attachment 1254546
There's a CSP setting called (I think) "Use new method to render spectators" which has been known to do this. Search for it and try turning it off?

Edit: In Track Adjustments, under Spectators, "New spectators rendering method"

Hello Roger
I can't comment on your first issue as have not tried this combination. However the second issue I can confirm since updating to latest version of CSP & lights-patch-v0.1.80-preview218-full with Sol 2.4 weather script controller the interior intensity of emissive light when using pure Candy is way too bright especially in some historic cars, but when I revert to a different PP filter ie normal Pure it's way better. Hopefully when Peter Boese updates Sol/pure this will be resolved.
Going to see if I can reproduce your first issue now.
Regards Shysterz.

Please see attached image. Can confirm I have the same issue :(

Thanks for any help.
Re the gauges lightning, that´s an never-solved issue with CSP which could be fixed under the lightningFX tab. Go to lightningFX and changes 2 values from the upper right settings to 100% instead of the default values (200% or even 500%??). I am not on my rig but it should be called custom emissives value or something like that. I can check later on today for better help. Sorry for providing not the 100% answer right now, also @Fanapryde this should help you.
