.../... This is a high detail GTR2 body.../...
Hmm...

Thanks to Nobody73 from the European Endurance Center, who has given permission to share our RMS Team conversion of his BMW E46 GTR 2001 GTR2 model. This is a high detail GTR2 body and has all the Schnitzer and PTG skins and body variations from 2001. A variety of parts from various other models has been used to complete the conversion.
It has realistic physics and the AI will return realistic lap times.
Model features animated gear shift and all the CSP features such as animated rear wing, high/low beam etc.
Thanks also to devikse who requested the conversion and helped with testing.

looks good, but maybe you could have a look on the lights?

Enjoy, hope you like it :D
great pack...question though. why do some have green and blue endurance lights?

This blue light. I would like to either change the color or turn them off at night.
View attachment 1273385
to change the color you will need an ext_config file in the skin folder with the following lines
Color and Off_Color are RGB values

[EMISSIVE_LIGHT_...] NAME=lamborghini_huracan_gt3_2023_auxlight_a,lamborghini_huracan_gt3_2023_auxlight_c,lamborghini_huracan_gt3_2023_auxlight_j COLOR= 90, 90, 25, 5 OFF_COLOR= 90, 40, 50, 5

if you want to disable the lights, switch the "Color" and "Off_Color" values to 0, 0, 0

the top car is the one posted here today, the lower one is the one i had from AG. if my eyes dont deceive me i would say the AG one (bottom pic) is more detailed going on panel gap's at least? i dont no its not night and day difference. but i will say i have seen waaaaaaaaaaaay worse. i am not complaining i am just pointing out what i noticed. there both great. you could also argue that the one posted today is better optimised? not sure what i am talking about really. i just see things

Checked it. Everything is fine. No double sided, correct naming, ... I also checked your Skoda, and it worked fine for me too. Do you have the latest version? https://sharemods.com/pgx033p9ozg9/pack8_-_M_130_race_1.05.zip.html
I updated the Skoda files--thanks for that--and it seems to help, but not completely eliminate the problem for me. I'll look into the other possible resolutions as well.. I'll test other cars too.. Kunos ones, I guess. I'm using CM v. 2561.39678 and preview346. This might also be why I don't see Breathe's solution; I don't have a physics tweaks section in my CM.

Sorry for the possibly stupid question, вut which option is responsible for camera rotation when the game is paused? Right now im using csp 0.1.78 and when the game is paused, i can freely rotate the camera with "fisheye effect". When switching to version 0.1.79, this feature is no longer available.

I can think of one modder in particular who hates it when people try to help and fix basic errors for him. Takes it as a criticism of his masculinity or something equally paranoid. Many toys and soiled nappies get thrown out of the pram.
Is it a Ferrari aficionado? 🤔

This one shared a while back had nicer looking interior and IIRC drove actually ok.

But its kinda sin that we still don't have this car in a good mod, same IMO with C5R/C6R, and a comparable DBR9...

if anyone wants to make the wheelbase right (ish) the value to put in the suspension.ini is 2.755, this bugged me as the rear wheels were pretty much rubbing the quarter panels

The quality of the cockpit modelling and textures is what always lets this car down, all the way back to the Assettogarage original.
Not sure where AG originally ripped it from (edit: GTR2, it seems?), but has this iconic car not been better represented in another sim (or any driving game) since?
The AG one is the NFS model which is based on the 2004/2005 M3 GTR that ran in the Spa and Nurburgring 24 hours.
This 2001 GTR2 one is the most accurate 2001 GTR we have found and it is very different to the 2004/5 car. However I did mention it is GTR2 and for those models it represents well on track. I appreciate that for VR users it will have it's drawbacks.
The interior mostly came from the NFS model with some 2001 style parts added or changed.
The nerd model is more accurate towards the 2001 Schnitzer cars as they had quite a few differences to the PTG USA built cars.
For those that appreciate the physics, how it looks on track and the authentic skins, then they will enjoy this mod.
It is not one for those who want "showroom queens" but more for the ones that want these cars for their 2001 race grids.

I got permission to release the car as people here were looking for the PTG cars.

Thanks! That worked.
Had to swap new audio in though - no engine sound?
I uploaded a fix for the audio, and updated the post.
I'm expecting you to fix the driver's hands and shifting animation. :-)

Not true. This Aston was done by legion, Taisen and Olyn77 this is by far the best DBR9 mod that I know of. Supporting 45+ real world skins, accurate sounds of the V12 and the best DBR9 model I've ever seen interior and exterior.

preview.jpg

As for the C5.R it's decent. Also converted by Legion. The car does feel a little quicker than others, like for e.g. I've raced this car in my reenactment of the 2003 24 hours of Spa and It was miles a head, from memory, the car started pulling ahead by a lot. But when I did the reenactment of the 2005 ALMS at Road Atlanta the C5.R felt accurate, placement wise. It was slower than My C6.R that I'm working on and faster than the RSS Viper. I know I should be checking lap times, but this was months ago and my results are far gone by now. I would like to see the 2000 version of the C5.R from Gran Turismo 4 and GTR 2 in good quality.
preview.jpg

And speaking of the C6.R there is this one that I've talked about a few months ago. I've discovered this model particular has been through a lot. First it was converted from NFS S2 to Project Cars as a mod then been converted to GTR2 were it has been given new skins from 2006 - 2008 from its IRL counter part and finally, URD converted this car to AC. House King aka @007DBR9 later updated the cars physics, lights and sounds. I've updated the following for this car:

Changed lights for some liveries to match the skins
Changed front grill
Changed wheel colors for their respective skin
Changed tires for each skin
Grill mesh can be seen through now
Updated skins to 4K
Added AO to each skin
Little bit of a interior material change
The cars wheels are tucked in, like the C6R GT1s from 2010
(Months later) Fixed shadow
preview.jpg

I think I'll release this car this week. It's been sitting in the garage, collecting dust for so long. I didn't want to release this car because I am working on the 2005 C6.R below from BE_Modding, the one above is the FIA GT1 2010 C6.R "EVO" the car doesn't look good model wise. I can make out the polys on the cars lights, windshield, wing etc. The car having 2006-2008 skins which is not correct, but I digress. I need someone's help to make the corvette banner on the windshield below and currently the car doesn't have working interior lights or speedo. DM if interested. I have test drove this C6.R against the DBR9 at Le Mans and the Aston was putting up a fight, it was like 2005 all over again :)

Trying to keep the legend alive! I mean the mythical and unmatched TVR Cerbera Speed 12 (street version)

It still says it's originally from the Assetto Garage car in the UI, which is what made me think it was just an update to the old mod. I'd long deleted that one so don't know if it tried to overwrite the previous version, but if this is a new conversion it's odd that it cites AG as its source.

Maybe a team like URD will eventually model an M3 GTR from this era, or maybe Guerrilla could take one of the newer, more detailed E46 mods (there are a few nicely detailed ones) and create their own version. This car really deserves better representation in AC, and definitely a much better cockpit. It's where most of us sit when driving a sim, isn't it?

I’m sure I have seen an article that Guerilla are doing it. Fingers crossed.

After we can ask too much for a model that was made for a 2002-2003 game, I'm pretty some of you weren't even born yet that we enjoyed GTR2 model on our pc.
The version provided for Assetto is quite ok for a grid filler.

Some years these Vipers had blue fog lights. The problem is, the RSS model shares UV map between fog light bulbs and endurance light bulb, so if I want to make fog lights blue, endurance lights also becomes blue automatically.

If you don't want these blue lights, just copy paste the file "EXT_lights.dds" from another skin with yellow lights into the desired skin

Yeah keep on being complicit with the modding equivalent of the syphilis.

That's why he's never going away, people like you being more than happy to use his ****** fast fixes rather than asking the original modder or waiting for a fix, nah, it's everything at once all the time - every day.

No wonder other modders encrypt their stuff or just stop releasing public stuff... If it's gonna be 'upgraded' by a moron that never made anything good, why bother ?
if we follow your logic, then we shouldn't download any MODs that have been converted from other games without copyright authorization, because that's also theft.

Apologies about the UI. The AG one was used as a template and that part at the end should have been updated.
See UI attached.

Yes you are right about the cockpit view but for those who don't use VR then the view we have is steer wheel, dash in front, mirrors maybe and out the windscreen.
For those who are doing competitive racing the rest of the cockpit is not an issue. If you are touring around and looking in other directions then maybe it is an issue.

Almost all cars are OK as grid fillers, my point was that the iconic M3 GTR really deserves the kind of triple-A treatment that even clockwork econoboxes get from the modding community these days.

Never knew they used blue. Wonder what the reasoning for that would have been?

Yes I agree. That goes for the 2001 GTR, 2004/5 GTR and the it would be good to have a full accurate E36 PTG version as well.
Unfortunately I don't have the resources to build from scratch and my focus is on creating full season grids so when it comes to conversions you have to weigh up your priorities. You can spend days on creating objects that may look good but is that time well spent if it makes little difference to the overall mod. My priority is to have it present well on track, function correctly and physics that represent the performance expected from that model car.
If no one takes on making higher poly versions then I may get back to making some improvements later. In the meantime hopefully those requesting the PTG cars find some value in this conversion.

Hello, nice to meet you all. This might be a longshot, but does anybody know if the old track Nivelles-Baulers has been made in AC? It was about 30 km away from where Brussels is.

Btw, anyone remember Formula Predator PC010 release for AC?
Found this on youtube:
