We're on the same page I think. My comments weren't really about how dated the current M3 GTR mods look, it was expressing surprise that it's been neglected by modding groups who are capable of releasing a top-tier version. I guess if it was in a recent Gran Turismo or Forza then we'd have had more than a few ports by now. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and it's hard to disguise the roots of the current versions.Yes I agree. That goes for the 2001 GTR, 2004/5 GTR and the it would be good to have a full accurate E36 PTG version as well.
Unfortunately I don't have the resources to build from scratch and my focus is on creating full season grids so when it comes to conversions you have to weigh up your priorities. You can spend days on creating objects that may look good but is that time well spent if it makes little difference to the overall mod. My priority is to have it present well on track, function correctly and physics that represent the performance expected from that model car.
If no one takes on making higher poly versions then I may get back to making some improvements later. In the meantime hopefully those requesting the PTG cars find some value in this conversion.

For those of us who don't know how to tinker with mods... don't you get angry when you have two similar mods, one that is graphically spectacular but works like hell and another that goes like heaven, but is uglier than a sin? 😢.. .one had clearly better visuals, but lacked the shorter layouts offered by the less visually appealing version...
