Hey everyone,

been a while seen I posted anything or been active in this thread, but I found a mod that I thought I wanted to share in this community.
Before hand I want to make it clear that I'm not the mod creator of this, it is not my work, all of the credit goes to this guy "R_are_L", just want to share this mod to what I personally think should be uploaded in RaceDepartment, but since he hasn't and he only has shared through YT, I wanted to share it over here.
Probably it has been posted here long before but I've been following this project closely and this morning the project has been completed and it's open to release.
It is now possible to have rolling starts in AC but it will only work with AI for now.

Here's the video from his channel if you want to have a preview of the mod itself:

And here's the download link through his patreon (the mod it's free):

Highly recommend to read the Readme file of this before using this mod, and the latest CSP is recommended.

For online races you can use Real Penalty app, it has rolling starts and much more.

One more adapted car, Alpine-Renault A210 ( 1967 )...for now
After make the final adjustments in the "DATA" folder and adjust problems in the textures/shadows ( I hope our companion "MrHunt" can solve it later )...

in the preliminary tests ( already done to track).
Are your cars and skins available anywhere?

One question...
Does the application (The Real Penalty App) work in offline mode?
The RPA I think it only works online as it needs a host server to make it work, plus the rolling start app works only offline he/she has stated that it won't make it available for online servers due to avoid any further implication with the mod itself.
@Diegonapoli10 put it best, hoping that Ilja sees this and implements it into content manager instead as a separate app.

Waiting years for this, definitely a game changer in AC for endurance races

No problem on my side with 180p218. But if you want to hide it completely, add
Code:
[MESH_ADJUSTMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MESHES = lumirank_3
IS_RENDERABLE = 0
to extension/ext_config.ini and rename "data/digital_panels.ini" to digital_panels.bak
Thanks. I have been hiding a few per skin configs already. This looks more simple.
But in the end I'd like to keep the Lumirank, and for that I may have to be patient until a newer CSP fixes that. I'm on p342 atm... ;)

After 10 long years we finally have it!!!!

It does exactly what we all wanted it to be.
However it is buggy depending on the tracks: URD Twin Ring Oval the cars veer into eachother at the line.

Seems that the guy behind the mod is letting people make their own updates and fixes!!!

Im excited to see what the community can do to this mod. Maybe 3-wide starts and Full course cautions?!?

Thx.🙂👍 I think yes, but don't know exactly from where the base model was from. 🤷‍♂️
Since still in development, is it possible to put the steering wheel a bit higher ? Asking because in my usual seat position (with the virtual wheel matching my real wheel, like in 99% of my other installed cars, including other Z4 ones) I barely can see where I'm going. No problem in straights, not a big issue in left corners, but for right corners (apexes) the wipers are blocking my view and I really need to gamble where to go... :scared:

For me it doesn't work at all, I tried it with the WEC grid at Spa, first I drove a sort of formation lap in which several cars spun and crashed, and then after Blanchimont every AI car disappeared. I did exactly what was said in the readme and I'm on the newest CSP version...

I used the app before the "fix" and it worked fine for me, though on the readme file mentioned that to make it work properly is to edit the surfaces.ini file of the track you want to use the app to, so in case of bugs or other weirdness here's this:

・Back up surfaces.ini in the data folder of the course and layout where you want to perform a rolling start, and add the following at the end

----------------------------------------
[_SCRIPTING_PHYSICS]
ALLOW_APPS=1

[SURFACE_0]
WAV_PITCH=extended-0

----------------------------------------

This is of course has to be made once and that's it.

Little mod for zandvoort2020 to change the interior and exterior terrain texture from the blurry\out of focus original. It could be done better, but I think it fits in with everything else better than the original. I'll try and work on the mask file to make it better. Will work with @Pyyer 2021 and 2022 F1 mods with the two included files for his mods. If you don't like it, you can easily disable it in the Grass Replacement section of the ext_config. Set the ACTIVE state to ACTIVE = 0 and you'll be back to stock.

Zandvoort2020 Update v1.02https://mega.nz/file/1YdXHAJS#KLBwUpiTA5EgZYX3D0kfVho_8xgnCmefz_WIYR5ABRs
Since I couldn't make up my mind, there are two ways you can have it look with a little config edit. The difference is in how sandy\barren the terrain will look. It will need to be done as well in the two updated @Pyyer mod files as well. Just open the ext_config and go to the bottom in the Grass Replacement section. Change this line:

RESOURCE_FILE_1 = textures/top_mask.dds
to
RESOURCE_FILE_1 = textures/top_mask2.dds

top_mask look:

top_mask2 look:

EDIT: Attached alternative versions of the two mask files and the green grass texture. The new grass texture has a bit more saturation than what's in the mod originally. The two masks have a little more green rendered on the terrain, but mask1 is still more barren than mask2.
Link updated with new version. Since I was doing the terrain, I decided to make some other visual changes for myself. No sense in not sharing in case anyone has any interest. Most of the changes are for the base track. I love @Pyyer's F1 mod changes but for some reason I get a lot of Z fighting with them so I spend more time on the base track. That's why it got more love.

Backup your current track so you don't have to yell at me for screwing it up with this mod.

-- Fixed cull mode on smaller grandstands so the support beams show from any angle.
-- Added start lights.
-- Added animated flags to the top of the pit building. I hid the other flag poles scattered around the track until I can figure out what to do with them.
-- Tweaks to the inner and outer terrain textures the first version changed.
-- Added spectators to the grandstands. The track's .kn5 file had spectators, but for some reason they were not rendering for me so I made a simple camera_facing setup. I know that's an outdated way to do it, but it works for now. Will try and make it better eventually.
-- Added night and rain lights. It's my first attempt at making night lights so i'm sure they could be better.
-- Small Road skin to take out the blue\purple tint. More black and white now.
-- Included my own VAO patches which you don't need to use. I just prefer them so I included them.
-- Wil eventually add scriptable displays to the s/f line display panels. No time right now to re-learn how to do that.
