Excellent. Been looking forward to the missing piece of the SuperGT puzzle. Can't wait to try it. 👏

I have BOPed some 90s GT1 cars for singleplayer championship purposes, if someone is interested:

Why is the car so small?
The cockpit is absolutely tiny, and (I'm not exaggerating for comic effect here) the driver looks to be about six years old.
In VR it's like driving a toy car.
I think something's gone very wrong with the scaling here.

Compare windscreen width and headlight separation with a standard Z400:

Here's the cars superimposed over each other (offset left-right) to better demonstrate the windscreen/a-pillar width differences:

BTW, forgot to say - thanks very much for the car! :)

Blender shows correct parameters idk even after exporting with FBX units scale, idk what AC does with the model in ksEditor afterwards

Frankly I don't wish anyone to work with the interior of a Super GT car because modeling an interior from 3 pictures is quite the challenge to say the least and mediocre onboard videos from one angle don't do justice

Compared to the URDs

Looks great, but scaling seems off.
could of course be the URDs also.

Now try a forgotten racecar from 60 years ago. You'd be happy with 3 pictures

It's really strange because Blender is well known for mixing up scaling with FBX on a 1/100 scale, but not for a few % has it seems too. Can you do the same scaling test than mascot in blender, to be sure ?

Scaling seems to be quite a regular problem with AC's cars, really.
Future idea for x4fab : managing to get a fonctioning simple "global rescaling" tool in CM so modders don't have to redo the whole car by hand

Wow, this looks incredible! Thank you so much for bringing this car to AC, i'm not a circuit racer guy but i have been dreaming of it! And all my support for your loss, there are few things that i love more than my little fur buddy, hope you can get through it the better you can.

And I've vanished again for quite a bit....
Countach 25th Anniversary progress.
View attachment 1317554
The car is now ready to be imported into AC since I've sorted out all of the mesh issues... And I've managed to reduce the polycount from 1150k polys to around 890k. I've still yet to decide if the car should have a HD variant (This one) and a performance friendly version with 250k-to 400k polygons...
AO baking and other improvements shouldn't take long.
This took longer than expected for a Kunos Countach reskin...
Polyphony really found a way to torture modders with the tessellation method they use for models.
And some meshes were either damaged or incomplete (meshes that you need to boolean and or fix yourself).
can't wait...
preferably only release 1 version, as optimized as possible so not to have a bad performance, but still with enough polys (to not make it have ugly none-rounded parts)
I noticed for some reason some cars w for example +1500K polys give my cpu less stress then others w for example 800K.
So the number of polys is prob the most important, but not the only thing that needs to be considered for a car being optimized... (don't ask me what the other things are , cause I don't know :))

But anyway I think keeping 2 cars updated is more a pita for u ...

Try to measure the car in blender and see if it respects the actual dimensions. Unfortunately I also had a similar problem

Finding any technical documents related to the Super GT is a PITA!
According to the official website these are the tyre dimensions for the 2023 (I think the technical regulation should have remained the same since 2021) cars are:

GT500
Front: Maximum width 336mm, maximum outer diameter 685mm
Rear: Maximum width 356mm, maximum outer diameter 712mm

Is it a viable option to check if the tyres are correct and then, check everything else?

To be fair, Lexus is expected to be in WEC GT class next year. I'm happy to see them both working on modern GT3 cars, because they're a mainstay of some of the biggest races for the next few years and have great variety. Just a pity they're both releasing the same one (and the split of skins between them). I guess they were in a race with each other to release and RSS has won through here.

End of the day though, enough grumbling - we've got 2x fantastic new scratch made GT3 cars! And that's much better than having 0.

I doubt there's enough detail about the not-yet-homologated Ford and Corvette, but I'm sure one or the other will be working on the 296 this year. LP Design is working on a Ford also, though that's obviously not quite the same (would be great if he'd create a 'normal' store).

Unfortunately, LP Design Ford Mustang 2024 is useless, cause is encrypted. I can't change fuel consumption for my WEC / IMSA grids in data.acd file... Does Anyone have another one? :)

You do know how race cars that are built to a series work don't you? They share the road car name and similar looking body but that's as far as it goes. Dimensions aren't usually shared with the road car so you comparing it to the road car is wrong.

@TheNuvolari I'm sure you already know this but you have done everything correct.
I was just discussing this with someone who has created mods using Blender (outside of the GTP AC thread)
And she has said the following
"exporting with fbx units scale is the way
and if length and width are correct in blender, so should it be correct in AC too"

Of course there will be discrepancies, but that seemed like an appropriate car to compare it to for demonstration purposes. And race cars aren't normally this much smaller than the production car.
Do you have VR? If so, hop in and you'll hopefully see the problem.
Regardless, I think it's now been established that the Nissan Z (RZ34) GT500 2022 1.0 might be scaled incorrectly, which was the only point of my post.
I'm surprised it wasn't noticed by the testers listed TBH, especially whoever scaled the driver to fit the cockpit. The first steer.ksanim used must have been bursting through the bodywork, although the driver does seem to have been scaled down a LOT to fit the steering wheel dimensions rather than a more appropriate steer.ksanim being used. This probably exaggerates the small feel to the cockpit scale even further, but I can't believe the tiny driver is the only thing making the car seem too small. Hopefully I'm wrong?

A further thought: if the export from Blender is indeed scaled correctly, then maybe the original doner model was too small to begin with?

According to the video description, TheNuvolari made the model of the Z from scratch

GTP forum-er and creator of very cool tracks, @carTOON, got a nice write-up on RaceDepartment for his work on the 1936 Népliget Park circuit. 👏 👏

Ohh man, that surprised me...I'm about to read it. Thanks for the information!

@TheNuvolari

Wow, no question, the mod is really awesome, I love this car.

Sure, the car has a small problem with the size, (5%-10%) but it's nothing earth-shattering, by any means, and VR isn't the standard anyway.

Really, thank you for your hard and good work!
