So the Daihatsu uses the beta version of the locked .kn5 feature. Is it in Content Manager?

No more improved RTM mods :guilty:

This would ruin my Showroom photos

I understand why someone would want to do this. I only unpack kn5 files when the mod has something not working and it’s easily fixable. If it’s encrypted, I’ll just throw it in the garbage bin instead.

It only locks the kn5 not the data.acd file. That would be worse.

Hopefully it won’t mess up the Showroom in the future. Anyway, someone will end up unlocking them. Probably another Russian guy :P

a very stupid thing to do... it goes against the whole modding culture.
Kunos "opened" their cars to everyone, and now a "xxx" encrypts them ?!? what a joke.
IMHO, such mods should be disregarded by the community and let rot in their own encryption .

Maybe he did it to avoid copyrights issues with PD? It’s encrypted so they’d need to crack it open, no? He says it’s from GT6 in the description though.

there is no excuse for doing such thing... and no, they don't need to open it... an appearance in AC is enough. An open or closed kn5 doesn't make a difference at all.
You can get the model from in game when already encrypted if you really want to do it.

Anyway, it makes no sense discussing such a "modding profanity" just ignore the mod and the modder.

why would you encrypt mods? because of polyphony? polyphony doesn't give a :::: about ripping their models and putting them in a another game! neither the car manufacturers!

Jesus Christ first paid sound mods now encrypted kn5 files what's next? mods with spyware?

It’s already a thing ;) Got a bitcoin miner crap but it probably was from the download website.

I didn’t know about paid sound mods haha Is there a link to that website?

I very much doubt that is anywhere near true..... that is like saying because you can get pirated films that Hollywood doesn't give a crap about pirating...

It's more that you bl;ow one rat out of the water another 10 rats fill it's place...

first of all tell me when did turn 10 ,polyphony, sms,EA, and some others sue someone because of a mod? all of those nfs mw and gta sa modders now would be sued but guess what? companies did absolutely nothing and why in the gods name would Ferrari sue a game modder? because they don't care they care about profits not about protecting car models from games!

Clueless.

i do not understand you at all your'e basically saying that polyphony now would go out to sue a bunch of modders because they ported a 3d model from their game? that makes no sense at all. ripping 3d models from games does not hurt a game"s sales! also ripping 3d models is not piracy.

I'm loving these new RSS GT-N cars, they're a proper handful and keep you right on your toes. Has anyone seen a real Porsche/Ferrari mod for them yet to correct the fake branding and naming? They normally follow pretty quickly and include proper logos in the cockpit too (eg OMP steering wheel). I've seen a few Porsche exterior skins but that's about it so far. No Ferrari skins at all.
I like them as well, but there's something weird where you can't really trail-brake in either of them (worse in the Porsche). When you do it, they tend to snap-spin in a way that doesn't feel quite right. You can dial it out somewhat by increasing diff preload (a lot) and moving brake bias forward, but it's still not like any real car I've driven on a circuit over the past 35 years (including a really squirrely 1983 BMW 323i). Not a deal-breaker, but they should be quite a bit more progressive in how they lose rear traction as you release the brakes on entry.

OTOH, they do feel absolutely perfect coming out of corners.

Dude just drop it imo. We get it - your all riled up

The kn5 encryption has nothing to do with copyright issues. Many modders are (rightly or wrongly) weary of their work getting copied/modded and this is how they intend to regain control of their own mods. Not taking any sides here, but I've seen this sort of thing so many times in games of the past, notably with a naval wargame called "Harpoon 3" where one set of modders came up with an exhaustively-researched naval warfare database, which was immediately copied, altered slightly, then re-released by another group (who falsely claimed it was their original work).

Long story short, this eventually led directly to the total self-destruction of the entire Harpoon 3 scene (shortly followed by the death of the game itself) when the game devs reneged on their promise to allow database encryption (thereby removing a lot of the incentive for modders to do any work, since anything they did would simply get copied/slightly modified by another group).

I want modders to stay motivated. It seems like a lot of them (not all) want to retain control of their work. As a mere end user, this has the unfortunate effect of potentially choking off the flow of improved mods.

But, I also realize the alternative might be: No mods in the first place.

Is anyone aware if there is a Seat Cordoba WRC car available at all?

I'm specifically looking for the older WRC cars. Finding them is proving to be difficult.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
