....offline racing I have zero need for skins.... all but useless for multiplayer (without jumping through hoops, anyway)? ....

Here's the trick I use.
Delete the contents of all the original skins folders, leaving just the folders behind. Collect a whole bunch of skins and copy across the contents rather than the whole folder. AC Server only uses the folder names so now you and anyone else has the new skins. That is only on your computer of course, other users see what ever skins they have installed.

...Legion's Espace F1 update to work? It seems to be missing "espace_f1.kn5"....

Do you have espace_f1.kn5? The car works at my end and the uploaded folder is a binary match for mine.
Please redownload the car again and see how you go.
Delete the old first.

Don't those numbskulls at Sharemods ever vet their ads? I'm getting seriously hacked off with loud high-pitched sirens and my browser being hijacked with unskippable robot-voiced warnings from 'Microsoft'.
Any way to avoid this crap while still using Sharemods?
use adblock and adblocker genesis plus, havent had any ads in months

It is, and I hate it, but it is what it is. I'd be all over custom skins otherwise, but in order for them to appear online everyone on the server has to have them installed on their system, and obviously outside of a league or club that's extremely unlikely to happen. So while it may seem like a waste of time to make those fake liveries, for online racers it's time well spent. :) Back in the Gran Turismo days I always painted my cars in the same color scheme so my fellow racers would know right away it was me, I really miss being able to do that.

This doesn't really fix your problem, but you can always just replace the files in the individual skin folders that servers use with the skins that you want to see...

$5.54...for a sound file? It's like paying $35 for a font — is this person out of their mind?
Well if he do proper job like record the real sound and things I think it not wrong. But nah another story if you just edited it then charge that price then it wrong.
Also make font not easy anyway.

The best sound modder hands down by a country mile is ACFAN (yes hes all cappers on RD :D )
He does beyond a proper job. The engine notes, revs, shifting, exhaust interior and out, down shifting, syncing, trans noises, body creeking etc.etc.
And he does it for the AC community.... For Free.

$5.50 for an engine sound is utter laughable. And I would be willing to bet his sound file isn't even close to what ACFAN's is in terms of accuracy much less quality.
$5.50 for a scratch made car that took hundreds of hours to model and create or.......... an engine sound that maybe he spent a couple of hours on.

Theres some logic.

Looks like RTM is inspiring a second generation of insanely-overpriced mods for those who inhabit the intersection of a Venn diagram labeled "Rich", "Stupid" and "Desperate".
This is world championship of stupid and greedy :)
Soon will start selling livreas at $10 🤬

at the moment I have only the fairlane and the chevy impala '66 :gtpflag:
still pondering the idea to include some mustangs '66 from unknown origin (SBH style 'tho), but I miss the big players like the pontiacs, plymouths...

Images of the era that would help doing skins would also be much appreciated, like the ones above (send per pm or post here please)

Cheers !

Sounds great! Is there already a download link for the Impala?

v0.1.25-preview205 • Issues with strange glare and black artifacts are fixed; • VAO is used as sun shadows in the distance (no more overlit tunnels); • VAO doesn’t affect reflections and dynamic lights for tracks anymore; • Close emissive objects are dimmed for reflections to get rid of that bug with lights when camera passes close to lights; • New smoke should work online, in triple screen mode or in VR, or with visible helmet; • Distant geometry mode for some shaders to get rid of clipping; • Clouds in Weather FX won’t appear in front of geometry anymore; • Better compatibility with original AC (no more of that strange issue with RSS Darche car); • Extra animations for cars fixed (INPUT_AS_PROGRESS option); • Trip analog odometer fixed; • Weather FX: option for accessing spherical harmonics allowing to improve lighting in tunnels; • Shader replacements: • Redefine LOD in/out if needed; • Replacing textures fixed; • New VHS filter in preparation for custom post-processing extension; • Other fixes and stability improvements. https://acstuff.ru/patch/?get=0.1.25-preview205

Anyone tried the new smoke in VR yet?

On several cars, during a replay, a bug appears which make disc brake transparent when the wheel is moving (see screenshot on Ford Sierra RS500 BTCC mod from racedepartment)
Is there a way to fix it with CM or is it mandatory to edit the 3d model ?

edit: the bug is not related to shader patch because the issue is still there without the patch.

i have one of his sound mods the lfa. The car does sound pretty good in the replays in the interior ehhh ok? but the third person mode doesn't have sound at all. I'm guessing that the paid Enzo mod has that too he never really shows third person in his videos at all and he charges 5$ for them .

download link in the description, you have to remove _0.2 from the folder name for it to work, but its only for free roam, no racing
There's a AI line.
Delete the MAP from the folder and let CM make a new one.
Then you will have a layout to race on (you need to enable track map to see where you need to go, unless you are following AI).
