Seeing as we're back in business now, my mod haul for the day courtesy of URD and Racedepartment (for the skins).

They'll be joining the extended GT1 grid with mods from Assettoland and the Porsche from the base game. Too many 90's GT1 cars in my full GT1 class so they'll be splitting off into a separate grid now with the 00's cars in a separate class.

wow wow get cold guys, guys from Europe countries, Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, USA, Middle east, Japanese and Chinese and so on can live and work and have fun together .
dont be so naive to hate each other just because of leaders of both country didn't share the toy with each other.
Honestly this is my favourite part of modding, it shows the best of the internet, people of all walks of life. Being a part of this community has led me to talk with people from all sorts of countries, some are rich, some are poor, some going through education, others just relaxing in retirement. But regardless of all of that, in these forums none of that matters, we are all here to enjoy Assetto Corsa and its mods to give everyone glimpses of an experience we may only dream of or in the case of historical content simply not even be possible to try in reality.

What did I miss?
People taking sim racing far too seriously again, and forgetting it's just a bit of fun pretending to drive pretend cars around pretend tracks using pretend steering wheels and pedals?

If you're not approaching racing sims with the utmost grimseriousness of grimseriousness with rigs that cost good used car money before the PC is factored in, then git out. /s

Anyone here have any experience with 3DsimED? I need to figure out how to prep this model for Assetto Corsa so I can drop it onto a Zonda R.

Threw the weird transparent mess into CM Showroom just for craps and the scale seems right already,

But hey, if a more seasoned modder wants to take this off my hands, I'd be more than happy to zip it up and ship it out.

Things seemed to have completely derailed.

Well in an effort to urr re-rail? the thread heres some cars, better then anything RTM have ever made, ever will make will be 100% free for now and forever. Follow the chivas facebook page for further updates, I'd post more here but I just keep forgetting.

Hi @letsdothis97 Thanks for bringing these mods to our attention.
I am particularly interested in the RX-7 but I didn't see it in Chivas' website and facebook page.
Can you show us where to get this? Or is it still WIP?
Thanks!

Looks familiar ;) Just curious, did you get a poly count of the model? If so, how does it compare to Kunos cars?

Just sharing a setting for cm. Top left, this will sort all the cars that you've never driven, you may be shocked as you can see down the left side. :embarrassed:
I don 't have any cars I 've never driven:)

But I don 't see a list of tags, I had to enter it manually. What do you need to do to open a list of options, like on your screenshot?

nice! could you then share your CM preset please?

Thing I always struggle with is making groups of cars to run with, not always being the name of the cars an indicator of the class (my ignorance)

We are trying to reduce the poly count on the RX-7 as its way too high at the moment, just have some patience, Charles who is doing a lot of the work on this model is getting battered by a volcano in the Philippines at the moment.

I just got a new tool with my content manager when analyzing cars. So now it will tell me when physics are copied from other cars. so somtimes when i work on a car i would just assume the suspension geometry is correct but maybe just not the rates of the springs and dampers and only touch those. same with gear ratios on my first mods and some engines. thinking they need tweaks not overhauls. now i know forsure what has been copied, so the quality should increase greatly from here.

two examples, i planed to rework a benz i found, and did an analyze on it.

So yes that benz will need a FULL FULL rework rebuild. scratch suspension ect... its a F'ing BMW as it sits. (like come on)

now we look at the Aston vantage AMR PRO i worked on for weeks

No copys :) so i really did mean it when i said i fully changed it. and the extra info it showed me here is usefull aswell so i can now learn maybe it needs more LODS. from now on when i release a car, i will include a picture of analytics before/after like this so you guys can can see proof. but i wont make it so large and in your face. it will look more like this. (below) and you can click it to read details.

i imagine some of my reworks prior have some copied data that i was unaware of, so i'm just making this message to tell you that MOVING FORWARD. it will NEVER happen again. i just didn't have a tool to know before. i can't see the 50+ numbers in a suspension file or the picture of the suspension in custom showroom and think "yep thats a bmw M4 geometry just by eye balling it" and now i will be able to do that. seeing i have copied data on some of my older previous cars infuriates me so that's why i made this message. i'll do all the physics from scratch if i have to if that's what it takes. and i'll never trust that a car is even close to authentic until i see the Analytics now.

Sorry to anyone i mislead before:guilty:. it will NEVER happen again. i was blind to this before. (and just to be clear it was not me who copied the physics it was the original creators, and i just had no way to prove they were wrong on some things like suspension geometry specifically)

I wouldn't worry too much though because many many cars in real life use the same chassis, running gear, engine etc etc etc etc etc.
Many cars are simply the same but with different shells / badges (yes VW, i am looking at you...)

Racing cars are even more so, past and present.
So yeah not odd at all to have basically the same stuff from one car on another.
The Alfa 155 was basically a FIAT Tipo under th skin and the Alfa 155 Q4 (AWD) was the lancia delta intgrale....

If anyone is aware of the famous "parts bins" then they will know what i am on about..

A good example in racing terms is the TCR SEAT, AUDI and VW...all the same under the 'skin' and based on the original AUDI TT racer which is in Assetto Corsa..

Exactly. I never get this moaning about "uses Kunos physics" when most stuff is so streamlined today, no coincidence the example you gave everything is from the same mother company, another example is the Audi and Lamborghini GT3 cars, also same mother company.

Or the Toyota Supra using basically a Z4 Engine.

And many suppliers nowadays probably provide a few stock options and maybe do something out of production for a hypercar for example

Im Making a LEGO track for the LEGO cars (of coure real cars are available) Any ideas was what to add to it?

Wow, thats the best mod idea seen recently! Btw, highly recommend you to watch or play Forza Horizon 4 Lego DLC - alot great stuff can be seen there:)

Can't find a poly count on this program, and it's just being difficult to work with in general. I'm thinking of switching over to Blender or 3ds maybe if they have scripts that support the file types I'm working with.

Going to be honest, I have no idea what you mean by CM presets.
