Noice! I didn't even know RSS had discounts! I when ahead and pick up the Bayro 6. I want to get the RSS GT Pack, but I'm a bit skeptical since it's a older mod. Can anyone give me some details about RSS GT Pack and how optimized it is in a full 24 grid AI race? (like does all the cars in the pack have LODs?,A,B,C, etc)

The RSS mods are top tier in quality, so they have the works. Everything you’d expect from LODs to animations are all there and done very well. Almost base game quality for all of their stuff.

I have a potato all-in-one computer and I can run a full grid of AI with the RSS GT pack well, so I think you should manage just fine. Even if you can’t for whatever reason it’s still worth it to have those cars.

Thanks for quick response! I just when ahead and bought it. Yeah my old 4790k is starting to show it age during full grid modded races, but unoptimized cars and tracks really drags it down to unplayable fps.

You can hardly find something better than RSS mods. Go for the GTN pack! 👍

Ah, don't expect them to drive like GT3 cars and mind cold brakes/tires

Just wondering if anyone could give pointers for converting a drift car into a non-drift car. For instance, lowering the steering lock and maybe adjusting the gear ratios. Is this possible just from editing files in data.acd? And what other things should I be adjusting? Suspension and tires perhaps? There are some nice Japanese car mods, and unless I'm blind, some of them I can only find drifting versions. I'm not really into drifting, and as a controller user, I find them too twitchy to control around a regular track.

i would start with the tires first. Change the values in the ini (tires) to match a set of road car tires that you like

i'm curious which specific track this is referring to? (I only ask because I picked up the simtraxx PIR last August and never could find any other one)

The search function here as shown could help a lot. I don´t mean it to critize you, but to help all of us getting a better overview over this very biiiig thread and nobody need to answer again and again the same questions. ;)

Hi, does anyone have any idea what might have caused this, and how to fix it? This is happened just after 4-5 tight turns. The mod is 645 CSi by A.Showmebest. I forgot where I got this mod. I am on CM 1.4.2 and Sol 1.4.2 Thanks.
PS: The track in photo is Kakucs Ring btw.

I was asked some days ago if I could share my old Vivid skin for Autopolis Oita, the skin I posted here last april to give Autopolis a less bleached, washed out look.
It was one of my first tries tweaking a track and overlooking it now, while my skills got a bit better, it was mandatory to actualize it. :)
Doing that I made a mix from old more saturated skin with a config.ini which gives new Grass FX feature and tweaked the old skin a bit.
Doing that, I got aware that the other two skins I had from @gladbecker82 (AlexBfromG on RD) and @Masscot are no longer available on RD. So I asked them if I could share them with mine here too. Both agreed and I made now a package with all three skins, a vao-patch and the config file in track folder, so this can be installed with CM if wanted.
Thanks @gladbecker82 and @Masscot a lot for the billboard skins! :cheers: 👍

Track Vivid 3 skin can be combined with either one of the billboard skins, as I gave them both a higher priority then mine. Obviously both billboard skins at the same time don´t work as they would overwrite each other. ;)

All the ones who have the old config version in ..\assettocorsa\extension\config\tracks\autopolis_oita.ini can rename/delete old one.

Hope you enjoy, if anyone have ideas to improvements or any other feedback is welcomed. :) :cheers:

Edit:
BTW. One guy mentioned he had probs with different grass colors in Autopolis. That should be only a problem for the ones who had my older skin installed before, sorry for this inconvenience. :(
To fix this disable the old skin with CM, delete the old Vivid3 skin folder and install the skin again from the new posted package, enable skin again in CM and different grass colors should be fixed. :)

Any tip on how to give a specific skin a full glossy/mate finish? Like, leaving all skins matte, except for a single glossy one.
I seem to remember it could be done...

What is most recent and best version of oulton park, my version has very white tarmac issue? Can anyone help with best version of oulton?

Can someone help me?
Installed the AC 2020 graphic mode, then deleted and restored the files previously saved. Now the problem is - the message does not appear at the top of the screen ABS, TCS, exposure, etc. Switching works, but the message does not show, I don’t see how much that I switched.

I used this as a guide
https://lucianpainedesign.blogspot.com/2019/10/carpaint-material-tutorial-part-1.html

But I found I had to put the ext_config file in the specific skin folder for it to effect the individual skin.

EG the ext_config for the Merc SLR chameleon skin looks like this

[INCLUDE: common/materials_carpaint.ini]
CarPaintMaterial = EXT_CAR_PAINT, BODY_2
DisableDev = 1

[Material_CarPaint_Chameleon]
Skins = chameleon
FresnelMax = 1
FresnelC = 0.1
BrightnessAdjustment = 0.48
SpecularBase = 1, 50
SpecularSun = 8, 500
SunMultiplier = 3
FlakesK = 0.1
ChameleonColorA = #00dcff, 0.7 ; first alternative color and opacity
ChameleonColorB = #0089fc, 0.4 ; second alternative color and opacity
ChameleonExponent = 1.2 ; how colors are scaling; increase to see more of second color
ChameleonCenter = 0.45

The STEER_LOCK value needs tuning down. If the data folder isn’t available, unpack it with CM and then edit the car.ini file. Lower the value in STEER_LOCK. Experiment with lower numbers until the problem is fixed. There is other values in there to change the ratio etc so the steering wheel matches your hands so a bit of trial and error is needed. But just lowering the lock will fix your problem, on that car anyway.

Also don’t forget to rename data.acd if it exists otherwise your changes will not work unless you’ve specifically told CM to use data folder first, data.acd > data.acd.bk will do.

Have you got the latest track config? I use track v1.32 Oulton Pk

I think yes.
I have track "Track_Oulton_Park_V1.4_by_Terra21" and i see other one is v1.3.2.

Should i maybe go to 1.3.2 and maybe 1.4 is not work well?

This is normal, foresters track turn into white track?

@slider666 @Blamer are you working on new oulton park trakc, i will wait for new version from you guys. do you able to fix white race track issue shown above?

No, I'm not. I was just asking @slider666 if in the version he is working on, the lights config I had created (the one that comes with CM, that you can download from github) still works or if there are changes of materials/meshes' names

I also have quick question for GTP mod team.
I test the GTP mod team cars (from ACC) against ACC.

I find that all AC versions of the ACC cars are more understeer.

I then test AC URD 911 2018 vs ACC and this car seem to handle more like ACC (more realisitic?)

Does mod team know why AC version of ACC cars are way more understeer, less grip, when comparison to ACC.
Will maybe make cars handle more like URD 911 2018 in future patch or setup as this car handle more like ACC, which some say he is will be more realistic.

Sorry for bad English, i hope this make sense :)

If no good, let me know i use Google translate, im trying to improve english to try to avoid copy paste/translate :)

Thanks @MrB00 ! It was extremelly easy, and a rare piece of information if you ask me.

Happy to help. Took me a bit of working it all out and then I stumbled on a mod with a chameleon skin which had the ext_config in an individual skin folder and not an extension folder like that website I linked said to do....and lo and behold doing that worked.
