They are original cars from Kunos Simulazioni. I have done 3D modeling before, but NEVER making a real model for any game. Kunos offers up all of their cars with templates for each. I then took the templates and modified them to my heart's content to design these cars.

The Porsche 919 RSR (2017 model) was a bit hard because I didn't want to make too complex a design. That is where using Content Manager comes into play to preview skins. You have to continually play around to find out what part of the vehicle is what. Most of the quality templates have wireframe layers so you can see what parts of a vehicle are part of the overall mesh. I could try to add more material to the design of the picture I posted, but it is for the most part minimalist. I actually sort of prefer this livery have a minimalist style to it.

But thanks for the support! Feel free to see my other stuff as well outside of Assetto Corsa! :)

I uploaded those translucent flag icons to Race Department. They were designed for VR but also work in 2D at 1080p.
If you try them let me know what you think. :)

It’s a pretty big update, so there might be a lot of bugs. If so, please, report them to me and roll back to the more tested build.
• New UI for downloads and installations to remove sudden jumps;
◦ Pause and resume downloads;
◦ Plus, weather installation fixed;
◦ Support for Reshade;
◦ Support for new crew brand and crew helmets textures;
◦ Track skins installation fixed;
• Windows’ location and size saving reworked;
◦ Proper multi-screen and multi-DPI support;
◦ Now, CM more strict in keeping windows within screen;
◦ New option to force app to stay on the same screen, enabled by default;
◦ New option for forced maximized mode;
• Custom Showroom:
◦ Tyres shader fixed;
◦ Car paint flakes fixed;
You might want to raise brightness now. That was a major bug, causing speculars to be much bigger than they should be.
◦ New option for semi-transparent tools windows;
◦ Proper tabs in tools;
◦ Trail value in suspension params;
◦ Proper wireframe (optionally, colored) mode;
◦ AO algorithms don’t consider higher pixel density now, to save FPS;
◦ Debug mode for meshes now affects showroom as well;
◦ Paint Shop overlay blending fixed;
◦ In free camera mode, hold Ctrl and use mouse wheel to adjust FOV;
◦ Reflected light (without showroom and blurred mirror) now saved and works properly;
◦ View object flags in object dialog;
◦ Option to ignore default emissive values in debug mesh mode;
• Discord Rich Presence integration;
◦ Share your state;
◦ Invite people to join you;
“Ask to join” thing is not ready yet, I still need to record a video and get an approval from Discord devs.
• Controls:
◦ New hardware steering lock option:
◦ Logitech G25 and G27;
◦ Logitech G29;
◦ Logitech Driving Force GT;
◦ Thrustmaster T300RS and T500RS, thanks to @Tsuka;
It’s still WIP and quite experimental. Please, contact me if you want to see your steering wheel to be supported, maybe something could be done.
◦ New system bindings section;
◦ Redefine keys for shortcuts like Ctrl+H, Ctrl+R or Ctrl+Q;
◦ Bind joystick keys or POV inputs there as well;
◦ Extra bindings for session state, thanks to @Tsuka;
◦ Named buttons and axes;
◦ Tool to specify names for your devices, if CM can’t find definitions for it automatically;
◦ Quickly open device settings;
◦ Compatibility with PCs with broken drivers is improved:
◦ Separate device scanning thread, so no more freezes;
◦ Re-scans are delayed if slow;
◦ Option to scan devices from the start, turns on automatically if scanning is slow;
◦ Slider for steering scale;
Although, you might want to set to 1 for hardware lock. There is an extra option for CM to automatically decrease scale when needed.
◦ Typo fixed;
• Quick Drive:
◦ Dropdown lists with car type, track layout, car and track skins (optionable);
◦ Manual wind with real conditions;
◦ Weather preview on dropdown list;
◦ Weather fallbacks reworked (if weather for real conditions is missing), now into a nice tree;
◦ Race grid generation fixed (if failed, you’ll see a error message rather than previous grid);
◦ Weathers by type fixed (now, considering time and temperature);
• Track skins:
◦ Management available in the Lite version as well;
Use tracks’ context menu for that.
◦ New tool to quickly override track textures;
◦ Stability fixes;
• Lap times:
◦ Sidekick and RaceEssential integration fixed;
◦ New tool to quickly fix broken records (very sorry about that bug);
• Apps management:
◦ New app icons editor;
◦ New option type for keybindings;
Updated documentation is here.
◦ Updated icons detection for apps;
If CM failed to determine window names for your app, add comments like “# App window: WINDOW NAME”
◦ Specify app version, authorship, description and tags;
◦ Apps configs moved to Settings section;
◦ Changes in configs are saved automatically;
• New options for online servers management:
◦ Plugin;
◦ FTP upload;

• Freshly bought DLC cars and tracks are now marked as new;
• Option for blurred background behind image viewer (works on Windows 7 and Windows 10);
• Immediate race start feature improved;
• Cars, skins, etc. packing fixed, again;
• Fonts icons improved, default icon symbol is changed to “5”;
• Now, CM will check if .NET 4.5.2 is available while launched, and would offer to install it if not;
• Car skins: name from ID guessing improved;
• Ordering for the most used tracks list fixed;
• Keyboard listener (working during the race, for extra bindings, optional) is fixed;
• No more title case in buttons and menus;
• More small UI fixes and stability improvements.

One thing I noted from painting skins in GIMP for Assetto Corsa was in picking different DXT settings for exporting to DDS. If you are familiar with making DDS images for games such as Assetto Corsa, some settings allow for better production of transparent images. I have been using DXT5 for car skins at times. Really, DXT5 is recommended for transparent DDS images. One thing I noticed was that old graphics I applied to the car were on the car when I saved the DDS as DXT5. So if you're just making some non-transparent DDS images for cars, you're better off using DXT1 to prevent having stuff like older images applied to your car.

You also should learn how each template works. Often times, it is difficult trying to know exactly what to paint on. Not all templates have a "PAINT HERE" or "BASE" layer for you to know what to paint. That is why it is important to know what exactly to paint. Also, it helps to know where to apply layers where need be to make your skinning accurate. When I know there is a layer to paint on, I apply two extra layers- one for livery, and the other for sponsors. And when in doubt, study similar DDS images to know how each one operates. It will spare you from some frustration trying to paint up machines.

Just some observations and suggestions from me along with some advice. You're welcome, world.

YES!!!! The flags and brands selection works again in both cars and tracks. Now it is our turn to test and experience all the other improvements.
Indeed an impressive list

I have no clue what 99% of that is. :lol:

even this?

Kinda think that this would be amazing car mod
The newest models look good to me. My brother's wife has a 2018 Audi TT RS. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet, but I've been getting swamped with stupid photos of the thing. This is a random internet pic, but I think the car looks pretty nice:

There are few TT mods, TTR race car from gt4, TT mk1 1.8 and 3.2 versions, TT mk2 3.2 and RS versions. Assetto has pretty decent lineup of TTs

Hey guys, been a while since I was around these parts. Just dropped in to say I'm thoroughly enjoying the PC AC experience, and how bloody brilliant is content manager?? I've probably spent more time filling in missing info, sorting and organising within CM, than I've spent on track actually driving, lol. Went nuts when I first got AC on my PC, downloaded a metric **** ton of mods for it.

My next step is upgrading some parts of the PC, but in keeping with the budget nature of the build, I'll be looking for good quality second hand stuff. If anyone can help out, I'm looking for 2x 8gig DDR3 sticks, and either an i5 4670k/4690k, or i7 4770k/4790k going cheap.

The current build flogs my PS4's performance, despite costing me less than half the price of a standard PS4. I'm just wanting to get the most out of this 4th gen LGA 1150 rig, for as little money as possible. Once I've upgraded to a decent processor and 16gig of ram, I'll game on it while I slowly build a really good PC.

What's everyone's fav mods for AC? Me personally being a gigantic open wheel nerd, I love the huge amount of open wheel mod content available for this game :)

Hey Mike, are you using VR yet? The Oculus Rift completely changed my perception of what can be experienced with motorsport sims. Be sure to work that into your build strategy going forward........👍

Has anyone here tried any of these tracks (scroll down the document for more):

https://malagoligarage.wordpress.com/category/tracks/

His Brno looks a million times better than the RD version.

Also, if anyone here races with an HTC Vive and are willing to help, could they please try my warning flag mod and report back? I know alignment is correct in the Rift, but want to see if it's OK in the Vive. This assumes your in-game display settings are 1080p.

I'm interested in alignment between the Wrong Way sign and the flag above. It should look like this image.

Many thanks.

Because it looks like a mini R8? :)

I have not found any quality TT mods at my usual internet visits. Please share!
Funny you say that... While I do enjoy the newer style of TT RS, when it comes to the Audi R8 I prefer the older style. A few of us were talking about this on RD earlier. :lol:

Honest to God, some days I spend more time in Content Manager than I do on the race track... :lol: I like to mess around with the custom showrooms, which I guess is kind of like that GTSport feature where you can put a car into a pretty scene. :P I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying the heck out of the PC version of AC. 👍 Favorite mods? Gosh that's really tough...Here are just a few that I would hate to lose...

Tracks:
Bilster Berg
Bridgehampton
Algarve International Circuit
Akina 2017 (check out videos from @rcallsign - he can fly down this road)
Riverside
Alto Tajo (use the realistic traffic layout...its a freakin' blast - until you get into a head-on collision that is! :lol:)
Ebisu East (Higashi)
Ebisu West (Nishi)
Longford '67

Man, I could keep going and going... Unfortunately, you and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum regarding cars. I don't drive ANY modern open-wheel cars. They're just too fast for me. I'm sure I could get more comfortable in time, but I just love the older cars and street cars way too much. Old open-wheel are awesome... Like Lotus 49.

Cars:
Lamborghini Diablo SE30 Jota
Lamborghini Diablo VT & Ferrari 512 TR (Class A pack in the Need For Speed recreation)
Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring '72 (There have been many different builds of this car - some okay - some crap)
Veloce GTS-8
BMW M5 (E34) (This is a 4-car pack. Regular E34, Facelift E34, Facelift Black - Alpha N, Black - Alpha N)

I highly recommend grabbing all of the AC Legends packs.
AC Legends F1 Classics '67
AC Legends GT Classics
AC Legends Prototypes
AC Legends Trans Am

Bilster Berg

Akina 2017

Mmmm.... I thought I had all the tracks..! Got a link to these? Couldn't find them on RD.

Some mod tracks I enjoy, from memory:

Zolder '67 (there's a new AI spline on RD which is essential)
Great Wall (excellent hot lap track)
Castle Hill (great for slower cars)
....
I'll need to refresh my memory. I've got about 200 tracks.

Edit: car-wise, the excellent scratch-built SEAT Leon Eurocup has just been updated.

http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/seat-leon-cup.15203/

Edit:

On Race Department I requested a version of Forli Ring without the floodlights (because of the weird glittery highlights they produce) and the author posted this version in reply:

CM just updated and the analyse car option for new mods seems broken. Anyone else?
When I push CONTENT, TOOLS and then ANALYZE CARS the CM freezes and I have to close the program via CTRL-ALT-DEL.
It seems broken. All screen kind of greyed out

Thanks, it's not just me then. I'll wait for an update.
Do you use VR?
