I think part of it is a particular type of player migrating over from games like Forza, used to all the timed unicorn cars/auction house nonsense and the type of person that wants something unique that they can show off to people that don't have it. This enables these kind of crappy practices as the modders know they'll have an audience of fools willing to pay for their shoddy ripped work just so they can wave it in other people's faces.

I suspect PC gaming being what it is, it will self correct at some point and once a paywall modder has enough interesting content out there, some good fellow will take the hit and then release it all to the wild. A lot of toys will get thrown out of various prams and the world will move on.
Also, every modder on the planet (myself included, although I don't consider myself to be a 'modder' at all, more of a 'tweaker' at best) falls into the same trap: they think other people place as much importance on their work as they do.
Newflash, everybody: no matter how good the mod is it's all disposable and the vast majority will likely be used once or twice then forgotten or deleted as shiny new things arrive to replace them. Rinse, repeat. This is why modders charging for ripped content or inflating its importance by forcing tasks to be completed before releasing them (500 likes!!11) are probably deluding themselves.

Same thought here 👍 ;)

Never seen this advertisment recently. Which track or track skin is this in your first picture?

I think I might have something to say about this topic; yesterday I was looking at rally mods, and in particular Dakar mods, and I came across Rally Academy. They appear to have run a virtual Dakar rally, and had a whole host of Dakar vehicles (off-roaders, buggies, UTVs and trucks) on their website. Here's the thing; all of the vehicles, with the exception of the Suzuki Samurai in the entry-level class, had a price of 20-40 "pesetas." You could gain these "pesetas" by donating to Rally Academy, with a donation of €2 granting you 3 "pesetas," and €6 giving you 10 "pesetas." So to enter their Dakar rally in anything other than a home-built Suzuki jeep, you'd have to give them anywhere between €12 and €24 just for one vehicle. I don't even want to imagine what it would take to gain access to every vehicle, and I'm just talking about their Dakar mods. I can recognize the vehicles from Dakar 18, Forza Horizon and Gravel, so I have no idea how high the quality is on these vehicle mods. Just something that came to mind while reading about this "donation" business...

EDIT: So just out of interest, I went back and looked at some of the other cars on the Rally Academy website. An R2-class car is 50 “pesetas.” How about an R4-class Impreza or Evo? That’ll be 150 “pesetas.” You want a Fiesta R5 or a 911 R-GT? 300 “pesetas.” Now remember, you donate €6 and you get 10 “pesetas.” Yeah.

I released an update for that mod a while ago that was mainly concerned with BoP to the Maserati MC12, fixing the sound and adding a few skins. If you want to springboard off of it I’ll leave a link to the post that takes you to the google drive for it below:

i don't think the two other skins by ParanoidDoge are in that download but if you want them I can send them to you later.

perfect for the phisics, thanks! but i wnat to update the model, also.

Kunos' cars and tracks are enough to be backed up because mods aren't touched too.

The point for me is not that I have to waste time restoring stuff, but that the
umpteenth crash caused by... CSP?... made me do it, even corrupting python somehow this time.
Lately I'm spending more time fixing stuff and trying to understand what caused what than playing...

I feel your pain.

The wheels/tyres in general are among the worst I've ever seen in this or any game, if that can be corrected then it looks a good base and would be a nice addition to the game.

Yep, although looking at the post above from @Fanapryde I'd say the Rollovers endurance mod runs a close second for bad tyres

@GzeroD
Thank you, thank you and... THANK YOU !!! :bowdown: (if You got a "déjà-vu" feeling, You are not mad !^^)

Well, It's absolutely amazing to get virtually back in the past, my childhood has been amazed of the 917 pictures (and toys), I was so impressed by the design of this car... I still today !
Virtual driving is, for the most part here, an incredible "time machine" !

@PR0JECTNR56
I will not the only one to be very grateful for sharing your time and your talent for this 917K skin You are finishing. ;)

I'm not sure how far the original converter will take this car. Not very far, I suspect - he seems to move onto the next conversion pretty quickly, but he says he'll at least fix the wheels and sort the badges out. It'd be good to get it up to a decent standard if he does abandon it, but there's a fair bit of work in there on the shaders alone. The engine model might as well go too, it's just using precious tris and FH models are already quite heavy without unnecessary hidden stuff.

Hey guys! :cheers:

I managed to mess up my ks_nordschleife and I am looking for somebody who could post me a link to a completely unmodded ks_nordschleife folder that is virgin, without mods, different textures or anything else. Just the blank version from kunos.

Would be great if someone could upload it or share a link with me.

Thank you guys in advance! 👍

You have to buy the Dream Pack 1
I think you won't get a link post

After taking it for a short drive i agree that it has many issues.Physics are bad,sound is wrong (v8 muscle),interior is like plastic,etc.I really hope that if he just leave it as is and not complete it,another experienced modder can take it further.

I have the ultimate edition and so I have the dream pack. I just failed at overwriting textures and modded layouts for the nordschleife. So I try to get the unmodded files for recovery. I was to dumb to save a backup... :crazy:

A quick question.I struggle to select the correct settings for my system.I have a rx480,ryzen 5 2600 and 16gb ram.Are these settings correct?Thanks
