This is a low poly (93k) 3D model, but I wanted this car to be in my collection, so I try my best to make it up-to-date.
Hope you'll enjoy anyway! So here it is:

Very nice job with this car - it's great fun to chuck around. Thanks!
It'd be great if the wing mirrors had a few more polys and if the interior metal trim shaders could be adjusted to look more metallic (door handles, gear knob and gaiter ring).
Here's a Renault Sport driver suit, gloves and helmet. Just drop the contents into whatever skin folder you want.

Really Offtopic, but, here it goes.

Even being at home 24 hours a day, not because the virus tho.

My Hematologist Doctor orders, due to a cancer that made me got 2 bone marrow transplant, within 1 and a half year (last one 3 months ago),
means I have to rest a lot and I lost all my vaccines and imunitary system.
It looks like I am a baby with 3 months of age, sort of.

Now, and I repeat, even 24 hours a day at home, the issue is how to manage:

- Gran Turismo Sport
- Automobilista
- Automobilista 2
- rFactor 2
- pCars 2
- Assetto Corsa
- Assetto Corsa Competizione
- Race Room Experience
- Nascar Heat 4 (occasionally)
- F1 2018 (occasionally)
- Wreckfest
- Dakar 18 (occasionally)
- Test Drive Ferrari Racing (occasionally)
- Grid Autosport (occasionally)

- Far Cry 5
- Verdun
- War Thunder
- Rising Storm Red Orchestra
- Heroes & Generals
- Metro 2033
- Wolfenstein
- World of Tanks
- World of Warships
- ...

Just to name a few.

Be safe everyone!

Cheers,
Paulo

Ok as promised here are the links and settings fort this legendary season, that many consider to be one of the more iconic ones in the history. This is going to be longer post, so I apologize, but I have time (isolation and stuff) and I really love racing history and talking about it. Disclaimer: There are no direct links out of respect to developers, who really deserve so much credit for what they are doing. Can't thank them enough.

IMSA GTO 1989 Season

Season was marked by an Audi team with their 90 model, that was developed especially fort this competition as part of marketing to increase their presence in the US market. It was the only season that this car ran in the series. One year before the 200 model ran in the TransAm series and won it, and so everyone expected them to win this year as well. This was an important project for Audi. How important? They hired a former F1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck and they sent a complete TV crew to record every move and every race the team and drivers made in America. Something unheard of at that time. The 25 min documentary can be seen here. It is interesting to watch before you run this car, as you will feel more immersed in the whole story (use subtitles if you don’t understand German):

Cars

Essentially the season was a duel between Audi and Mercury Cougar teams. Audi missed the beginning of the season and that probably cost them the championship. But there were some excellent races along the way with Nissan, Camaro and Mazda offering good competition as well. I made the BOP of all these cars accordingly. Audi and Cougar are just a little faster that the rest of the field. IRL Audi was no match for American low, wide cars in fast sweeping corners, but was revolutionary stable and agile in slow corners. And this mod from Dan Busca captures this perfectly as you will see in races. If you don’t like it and would want a perfectly level field, you must restrict both cars a little more. Anyway, to cut things short here are the cars (author, download location):

- Audi 90 (Dan Busca – Our Racing simulator, at his FB site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AssettoCorsaORSGroup, or a few pages back in this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-959#post-13057891)

- Mercury Cougar XR-7 IMSA (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-146#post-12481803)

- Corvette C4 IMSA GTO (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-149#post-12499141)

- Mazda RX-7 IMSA GTO (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-147#post-12490228) - be careful, there was an update from Zin5ki that made it comparable for later scca seasons but is a much slower car.

- Ford Mustang IMSA GTO (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-145#post-12472688)

- Chevrolet Camaro 28 GTO (VRC Modding team – PAID MOD: https://vrc-modding-team.net/show/26)

- Nissan 300ZX Turbo IMSA GTO (RTM Mods – PAID MOD, but...)

- Ferrari F40 Competizione (Beto Fernandez, BZ SimWorks FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BzSimWorks)

Additional skins for VRC Camaro can be found on racedepartment an d for Mustang here by Zin5ki: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-701#post-12972466

Cars that ran in the series, but not included:

- Porsche 944 turbo cup car (asseto corsa database: http://assetto-db.com/car/porsche_944_race) – i removed it, cause it ran only a few races and because of a bigger problem. I could BOP the car for qualifying but in the race it fell behind 10 sec a lap

- Ford RS200 (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-547#post-12882740) – it is so inconsistent, it is crazy, one race it would win qualifying by a few seconds and ran away from the field, on another it would fall behind 10-20 seconds per lap. It did not play a big part in the series, so I removed it. If you want to fiddle with it, be my guest.

- Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick (could not find suitable mods)

Great post, thank you. I'm also a huge fan of racing history and IMSA's GTO past. I previously put together an IMSA grid and now I can try it with your BOP settings. Too bad no mods can be found for the Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buicks, (Ive also searched for them) since they took part in so many races.

Do you think the 300ZX mod is worth the money?

I have this Oldsmobile added to my IMSA class.

For some reason, this car can't leave the pits, I have 1st gear engaged but it seems to be stuck, like if handbrake was on, weird...

This is a great car but can anyone with VR please do me a favour and look into the passenger side of the car in normal lighting (say, Sol, midday, summer, Windy weather) and tell me if you can make out any details? To me it just looks almost pitch black in there. The carbon dash is very dark, ditto the gearstick, ditto the steering wheel body. I've gone around a lightened a bunch of shaders (lots are linked, which makes it easier) and I can now actually see some detail in the cockpit. I don't know if it's a VR thing, or my PP filter (Blamer's, which is excellent), or what. Maybe when modders don't use VR then the cockpit isn't as important, but so many cars these days seem to get released with overly dark cockpit shaders that crush all detail... either that or it's my own settings that need tweaking.

Here's the cockpit with the shaders lightened and it's still pretty dark. In it's original state that view would mainly be just a black velvet light-sponge to me in VR. Is it my settings or are others getting something similar?

Thank you! I forgot this car is already in my inventory as it's not one of Zin5ki's best works (feels like it's still kinda in beta) and it appeared in very few races, but I'm happy to have it as a grid filler:)
Now if we could only find the Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by the likes of Scott pruett and Paul Gentilozzi that appeared in so many contests.

Am i safe to overwrite my version with your new one and just re-install the "BOO" power.lut  or will that screw things up?
Safer than licking door knobs in China. Have at it.

Do you think the 300ZX mod is worth the money?
The car can be found by searching around. It's out there.

Now I have to clean myself up from spitting out all this salt water taffy from laughing after reading that Guerilla/kunos joke. Oh the mess.

I'm not sure I'd be licking any door knobs anywhere in the world right now so I think I'm good there.
Also what the bloody hell is Saltwater Taffy when it's at home?

This is with CSP1.50 and meanwhile downgraded back to 1.46
Based on your screenshot and my interior view I guess it is more or less the same. It tends to dark but not pitch dark. I also tried other PP (VR) filters but the results are more or less the same.

Thanks very much. Looks like yours could do with lightening a little as well. The carbon dash looks crushed back to black, with none of the weave visible.

I look forward to it. Keep up the good work. I love your car choices. Not the usual mega HP/grip racecars or supercars that are so common.

Many thanks for your fantastic work!
Like how you chose the cars, different segments.
This Clio is IMHO a master peace! Handlind and driving with both set of tires are sublim. What a joy to push it around any track.
Cheers,
Paulo

Thank you guys, these words are really appreciated! :)
About the choice of cars, they are the ones I loved since I was a child, I grew up dreaming of driving them!
I think this is something we sim-racers have all in common..

Masscot, we are still working on it, especially trying to enhance the 3D model. The next version should be a bit more polished. ;)

Edit: Paulo, I've just read your previous post, I hope you'll get well soon!

Oh if anyone grabs the Zandvoort that @norms just posted about be careful and don't just extract the ZandvoortF1Layout folder from the download...open that and you'll find a content and extension folder.

Just tried it and it feels a bit....washed out overall. Might be something to do with the config but the kunos version just looks a bit darker overall. Anyone else notice this?

Well...i have installed CSP for first time!!! 1 year and a half thinking about this...but... i was scared, sorry...

CSP its espectacular!!!! Asseto Corsa its a new game now!!!

Thank you to the modders that create CSP and of course Content Manager!!!

Now, i have find a little problem with tachometer of rev in Ford GT40 mkI (original kunos)...it has lag 1000 2000 3000 4000...rpm
Anybody knows why?
Anybody knows a good guide for CSP?
Por cierto, alguna buena guia en español de como configurar el Custom Shader Patch?

Has anyone seen a roofless version of Corvette C2 for AC? I'm pretty sure I saw a picture of it somewhere but I don't remember where exactly and I can't find it anymore.

Here's a quick tutorial as there seems to be a few questions recently related to tyres and it's a lot simpler than I suspect people realise and pretty much one of the easiest and most important fixes on the majority of mods. I'll use your Lancia 037 in its default state as an example (I'm assuming you have content manager installed for this guide to work...):

Lastly, if any of the above is unclear then ask, I've put it as simply as I can but appreciate that everyone has a different level of expertise in these matters.

Thanks a lot GIBBONS for your tutorial. I`ve managed to create some tyres and the car drives much better.
One the downside, a new problem arrives: when using extreme opposite locke, front suspension breaks down. Could it be Screenshot_lancia_037_str_maple_valley_fm7_1-4-120-20-43-50.jpg Screenshot_lancia_037_str_maple_valley_fm7_1-4-120-20-44-1.jpg related to tyre sizes?

@norms I seriously thought this was an April 1 joke so I was "afraid" to click on the link you provided :scared:. I went directly to RD and in the download section was the new layout Zandvoort. :dopey::lol:.

@MrBoo: I installed it via the drag&drop directly into CM. See replay. Is that what you meant?

I noticed some strange shadow shimmering in replay. Is that because of the Zandvoort track needs to be optimized? Also see a strange shadow pop up on the windshield of the McLaren? Never noticed it before. Maybe because I swapped between CSP 1.50, 1.46 too much today?

The new Luyendyk curve is bumpy and try it with one hand :mischievous:

Back to back with the Kunos Zandvoort it just looked like the brightness had been turned up really high on everything except the new banked bits. The grass also looks a lot brighter and whiter than the original. Maybe I should try with a different time and see if it makes any difference.
Haven't noticed any shimmering but then I only had a quick test.

Shadow shimmering does seem to be CSP related sometimes, but I am not so sure here? Looks very odd in the replay. I've just had a quick blast around there, great fun but the contrast isn't that bad between the new track and old is it? Going to check my replay for any shimmering now...

I dunno I suppose it might just be my settings and ppfilter but the grass is a lot whiter in the new version and it just overall feels a bit washed out colour wise. Will have a mess about after some Warzone ;)
