Forgot to mention: I tried seasonal off and on, same issue.

Odd, I only had the problem when I turned off Seasonal Adjustments in WeatherFX.

Try this out. You can do it two ways. Either copy the ks_red_bull_ring.ini file to the extension\config\tracks\loaded folder (make a copy of the original first). Or put the included extension folder in the RBR track folder. If you have an extension folder already, then you will need to copy and paste my stuff into your current ext_config. Easiest way is the tracks\loaded folder, but if CM ever updates the config, my changes will get replaced.

You can play with the ambient and diffuse values to get something more to your liking.

BTW, anyone have any interest in trying this for Nords? I know filters make a big difference in how tracks look, but man did it look bad on my system with my filter so I had to change it.

They were made for the Ferrari 312P (by an author well known to all of us - not for good reasons). But I need to, because they are the last ones left to make a historic accurate race of Le Mans 1970.

Thanks, I added the extension to the track (there it has priority anyway) and it already looks more natural. Grass could be a bit darker but now the track is usable again 👍

easy way is in car.ini decrease the
STEER_RATIO=17 ; try 15 here, for example

One of the bizzare things about AC is that you cant change this in the car set ups page. Amongst other things, also you have gear ratios but if you change on set up screen the AI uses whatever the default one is. Weird. It seems easy to forget most of this stuff was hidden in the data files and hard to access.
Why did they do it this way?

Congratulation for the car and entire project. 348 and F40 have a superb physics and sound, 3D model and LODs should be improved a bit, expecially for 348.
However both cars are super.

Other things like how works the managing of the setups of the cars...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far I know, you can configure and save a setup for a car in boxes, especifically for a determinate track, but if you goes to another track, or returns to the same track and don't remember to charge the setup before the race, the car returns to default. You have to load the setup the car before every race; very professional, like real life, but since I´m a set and forget guy, sometimes I´d would like to change a little some parameter of the setup and let as default, and I think isn´t possible without messing with data files, which by now, is now beyond the scope of my knowledge.

thanx for your feedback. We will improve the cars further visually but also in terms of the physics. The F40 seems to be able to corner way too fast, which leaves the competition in the dust. BoP is an important topic for us. we want the finished product to be fun on- and offline...... long way to go :-)

Yeah, I could have taken more time to fine tune it, but I wanted to get it sort of fixed quickly for people to use. They can play with the numbers themselves to dial in the look they prefer.

I had the same thought, so i started makin atleast one skin for now. Its pretty early stage and my first Skin for AC but i hope it will turn out good
Dont look at the Clipping errors, still have to figure out that Mapping.

Little Note: Renaming "RIM.dds" to "RimsColor.dds" will apply the Wheel Texture coming with the Skins. Otherwise it will be Default.

Here you go. Please don't expect much. I just started on it. I just know I enjoy driving Nords more with this setup.

Couple of Notes:
-- Make a copy of your existing Nords track folder.
-- The mod contains three parts that don't need to be used together. A vao patch to reduce the amount of black in the tree shadows, my own extension folder and track skins. If there is a particular change you don't care for, just don't use it. It won't effect other changes.
-- The vao patch has it's faults, but for me personally, I can overlook any faults it has if it means I don't need to see black trees.
-- The skins have three varying tree brightness versions. If you would prefer lighter or darker versions, don't hesitate to ask. Would take me all of 5 minutes to batch convert them for you.
-- Never could decide on texture saturation levels so I made two optional skins, one slightly more saturated and one slightly less.

Optional VAOs you may like better. Goes in the track folder. Little better shadow depth amongst the trees, but may bring back a little of that overly black look in spots. You will need to rename them to try them. Just remove the number at the end of the name.

It is. If you have seasonal adjustments turned off in CSP WeatherFX, the track will get completely washed out. I might have to take some time tonight and see why.

EDIT: I see why. They have some crazy high numbers for diffuse and ambient for all of the textures. Easy fix if you want to do it yourself. Just go through all of the material adjustments sections for Summer and lower (and I mean really lower) the diffuse and ambient values. I'm playing with the numbers now if you want to wait. I'll make an ext_config for just those things so you can do a little self adjusting without having to mess with the CM config in case you don't like what I settle on.

Btw, switching on seasonal adjustments turned off in CSP WeatherFX backing up normal look to RBR env. You was right about that.

This time not much work to do, track is great.
Just added rain and coordinates and logo - so whoever wants that, here it is.

That could very well be the case. When I started to have the issue a whole while ago, I couldn't find a solution, so I installed a fresh stock Kunos RBR and the 'issue' persisted.
I gave up on the track and checked again when I saw @Jodurson post. It looked the same as mine ... indeed stock Kunos track.

There's loads of odd things with the set ups, in fact I'd go as far as to say the vanilla game Stephano lost his passion for it and it was left unfinished really in many ways, hence the modding 'community' took over and here we still are.
Its easy to forget that night racing and decent lighting was never in the game, and it had what 6 basic 'weathers'.

So many things that are in most sims as standard in the set up screens are hidden behind the data files which, were, locked.
At its core though AC IMO was always the stand out in FFB, whether its accurate in any other aspect I don't really care. FFB is still the bench mark for me.

I still have AC on my xbox and I like to load it up occasionally to remember how rubbish the console AC was. Utter garbage really.
Yet here i am with all the sims including iRacing which i pay for, and I'm still using AC/PC every single day and night.

Q: It is possible to add camera-facing crowds to any track's grandstands easily, or does it have to be added-in by whoever makes a particular track?
Many older tracks have cardboard cut-out flat crowds that look terrible if viewed at an angle.
