not sure if thats another version but Geroda has been working on one and I was too until Geroda announced his.

from the looks of that video the driver needs scaling, an issue I encountered as the model scaling is slightly off.

hopefully whoever releases it does a good job as the real life car is stunning. the original model itself is decent enough but hopefully the cockpit gets reworked as its a bit substandard.

Yeah that looks very nice.
The idea for the one I've got is to imagine its a replica so has modern engine and suspension etc.
And its unlikely to get shared so basically i could put monster truck wheels on it. (i won't)

Yeah and it's encrypted lmao. Dude really did that to a Forza Motorsport 4 model of all things.

Just tried it.
Not only encrypted, but encrypted with a whole host of 3D errors, graphical artefacts, terrible shaders and bad decisions.
If the modder doesn't care, why should we?
Straight in the bin with this one.

About encryption and oddyties making AC crash.

Sometimes, after modifying an ini file, AC crashes. Opening that file may reveal a Mac EOF encoding. Usually, switching it to Windows EOF solves the problem.

You might want to drop FFMULT down to 0.7 or so if you have a DDW.

I have to reduce it to 0.6 even with a T300. It's extremely strong for me... but yes, the car is really funny!

Modders do not stop your ongoing work, when you notice another modder is busy with the same car.
If a car mod is good depends on personal favor and use.

As an VR user I’m always in the car, “no drivers hands” view-mode and I wanting to see lots of fine 3D details in the cockpit, while looking around with my headset. I know some spent lots of efforts in the structure of the rear lights, moveable doors/trunk, rims, detailed engine etc, while for me being inside, the gas/clutch/brake paddle is a fuzzy drawing, the shifter is not moving, dashboard/chair without the fine 3D structure, instruments are 2D and except for the tachometer static, is a bit of a deception. Believe me I did try a couple of hallelujah cars and respected paid mods that did have (some of) these aspects. We’re other users wrong about that, no, because it’s all a matter of personal taste. What for me a major is, is for others a minor and visa versa.

Also, aslong a car mod is not exceeding the sound barrier in speed, even bad made car mods can be very useful as AI opponents to keep your race historical.

Regards this, the vast majority of mods are converts from old games or rips from newer titles or using existing models out there on the internet.
So modders are stuck with whatever the state of the models and cars look like.
Good example is the cars from V8 superstars game, they look great outside, but inside the cockpit is beyond dire.
Yes its a nice idea to expect every mod has study level interiors for VR users, but much of the time that will simply be that the modder is using Forza or GT cars, which will obviously have good modelling inside.

Where?

If there is only a data.acd folder you have to unpack it with CM first.

after unpacking the data.acd you will have a data folder with a lods.ini file in it.

not sure whats going on tbh. ive had the model for a while now. it been free for quite a long time. either way im 99% sure someone will release a decent version before the years out. from my little tests, the cockpit is an awesome place to be with its low windscreen and small stature.

on a side note ive taken the time to work on the boomerang. ive completely modelled the steering wheel, taken ages to accurately paint the textures for the clocks and done some ao work for some pieces.

There might be a glitch with the instrument dials, it seems they're all a few mm too low and not centred on their circular housings?


Also, brake lights are nice and bright but the rear lights can hardly be seen, even at night (in Pure with Pure PPF, anyway).

While someone doesn't convert from "Gran Turismo 7" or "Forza 7" or maybe from some other simulator (PC or Console), here are my inventions of cars that haven't appeared in Assetto Corsa yet:

Maserati A6 GCS II 53/54 (Targa Florio '53 skins)
Ferrari 166 MM '50 (original is named 212 Inter '52)
Jaguar XK120 (number 501) (Targa Florio '50 skin)
Jaguar XK140 ( I still haven't found the main races it entered correctly )
Alfa Romeo 6c 2500 Competizione (winner Targa Florio '50)
Maserati A6 Coupe (it was reasonable)
Aston Martin DB2 6cyl ( skins Targa Florio '50, LM '50, LM'51, LM'52 )

T here are still some important cars left to simulate my 1950 Targa Florio.
Abarth Cisitalia 204 and 205
Cisitalia 202 Ferrari 166 SC ( better adapt the one I created )
Fiat 500 A
Fiat Balila ( if someone finds an easy way to put the numbering ( the file for the skin is in a very small format, even changing the file size, it doesn't solve it.
In the version I made for the Maserati A6 GCS, no it was very good.

here is a weird one in VR:

BMW M Hybrid LMDh car, can't see anything in the cockpit. Works fine not in VR, also can view the car outside of the car(like pressing F5 in VR), but in the car its just that.....
