Question, has anyone made skins for the Yezhrod's Cadillac LMDh car? Of the mods outthere of this car to me at least thats the one I'd like to use more especially after using the files shared here that fixed the car's suspension. But it can't use any of the skins from the other cars out there....

See, for me the best all around PP filter is the pure one, great at sunny day, cloudy day and at night!
All the other ones I tried where great until certain type of weather where they looked like isht.
Thats exaclty what the RealLife filter is - no matter which weather - always good. No oversaturation or other "anomalies" at all

How to prevent the AI car to pit when it starts to rain?
I am on 0.1.80-preview346, I looked everywhere and I cannot find a setting to prevent the AI cars to pit. Particularly annoying when the cars you are driving do not even have rain tires to put on.:indiff:

I know this problem, since the rain is no more visual only :boggled:

Try adjust the weather planer manually. After choosing a weather for the slot`(s) decrease the value "rain ammount" manually. I had succes so far and the AI did not pit (seems like the manual adjustment crosses their plans :D) BUT there are 2 BUT´s :guilty:

First is every mod can/could react another way. You never know. Second is so far i tried the value for rain amount not more then 40%
So maybe i was just lucke with the choosen cars so far. I do the "trick" since few weeks.

If you`ll test higher values with succes, let me know please :dopey:

edit: additionally i have the rain difficulty slider always on EASY

jac0, very freakin' cool, man. I'm currently compressing my cars folder. I'm wondering how my backups will go. So at the moment, when I do a nightly backup of my assetto folder, it's about 3.75 Terabyte. With it compressed at half the size, I'm wondering if it will stay compressed when I do my nightly backup. Or will it uncompress it on the target backup drive. I'm hoping it will stay compressed in the backup because I'm running out of space on the backup drive as well. We'll see.

<snip>
I'm afraid you will have it uncompressed on the backup again... unless you have automatic compression turned on on the volume on which you do the backup , eg in windows this:

otherwise you would also need to run Compactor on the backup folder after each (hopefully incremental*) backup...

*if you were to do a full backup (copy ALL files and overwrite), then ALL data would get decompressed on the backup drive , so you would not be able to manage I'm afraid.

I had this same issue and stopped using RainFX for a bit because of it. What fixed it for me as in the New AI Behavior, I UNCHECKED the option where it says "auto change tires at start of race only" (something like that). let me know if that fixes it for you. Also, make sure you don't have the "Rain awareness" stuff checked or they will slam into each other and go off track.

Hi, little question for the vintage specialists around : can you confirm me that stuff like fire extinguisher and emergency kill switch wasn't mandatory in the FIA regulation back in 1970 ?

(Trying to stay period correct on the Piper GTR, I have nearly half the entire cockpit to create from imaginary possibilities...)

Fire extinguisher was common but I don't think mandatory. Kill switch didn't, or it definitely didn't have the standardised labelling it does these days.

I think I've found it. Per a scan of Appendix J of the 1970 FIA International Sporting Code, it states in Article 253 section m (on page 15/16 of the PDF): "during the event, the car shall carry a dry chemical fire-extinguisher of at least 1 kg capacity. It may be located in the space provided for the passenger."

I cannot find any mention of an emergency kill switch though. I recommend having a read through the PDF, very interesting info in here.

I love you, man. Could only believe I would have known this site earlier.

That's chassis BJS-3, the one that didn't started at Le Mans in 1969. The picture is from the restored version (from 2005/2006), upgraded like all others to current safety regulations (plus a few other spotable things, like the steering wheel, definitely not period correct) That's my main base + some pictures from the Piper GTT and P2 as I guess they probably share some parts here and there.

I'm not convinced cars of the era back in the days had fire extinguisher and kill switches. Also, this is definitely a single seater, and I think group 6 cars (prototypes) must be at least 2 seaters, so they probably changed that too afterwards.

i would assume that they would use parts from there previous sportscars

Wondering if someone would be willing to try something for me. I love Lilski's Road America, but I have trouble with the ai going through Carousel. A lot of times they want to just run off the track somewhere around the apex of that turn. So I moved the left sideline in on that area and it seems to work pretty good so far.

What I was hoping is if someone could try this out and tell me what happens on their end and also if you notice any drop in the ai lap times. Sometimes when I mess with a track's sidelines, it seems to impact the ai lap times for some reason. You can PM me any results. And BTW, I included the original fast_lane file so no worries about reverting back. Thanks for any feedback...

One other thing because I never know if i'm up to date on my tracks. What is the date stamp you have on the main lilski_road_america.kn5 file. It's possible I have an old version of the track and maybe that's why I have trouble with the ai in Carousel.

This does just what it says, if you start a race with rain, it will, if available, equip the cars with rain tires, but if you start in dry weather and the rain happens later, it has no effect. :)
Behavior was different for me. With RainFX turned on, no matter what the weather of the race, even when dry, all the AI cars would pit on the first or second lap at the same time. Again, even with dry weather. It was an issue I had been searching for a solution for since Ilja put out the csp preview with RainFX. For me, unchecking the rain tires settings in New AI behavior works for me personally. I hope you're able to find what works for you. AI pitting strangely can be a pain in the butt to track down.

I have "Last Modified: Tuesday, ‎06 ‎April ‎2021, ‏‎17:55:19"
Of course, I might be in your boat 😂

Tahnk you... for me it is still a bit too much but a lot better.. but still I'm havin problems with CPU in last and first corner and on start/finish especially... I would try to fix it myself if I knew how...
I test the lights under csp 1.79 and RTX3080, it goes well. You can change the 'range' lower under [material_adjustment_lightsname] in ex_config.ini.
