F1 2008 1.5 Update
This update will bring scriptable display, this will enhance the cockpit cam experience.

FIXES :

-For some reason one helmet was transparent, so I fixed it
-I forgot to include the headers in ext_config for the mclaren so the chrome effect was never applied, took me this long to notice
-Blurred soft texture was the wrong one, not really fitted to the mapping of this tyre, this is now fixed
-Fixed BMW Sauber leds Z Fighting
-I forgot to include Heidfeild germany helmet skin..... So you had 2 helmet skin that were completely identical
-Fixed Mclaren having more understeer than any other cars

Improvements :
- Buttons in steering wheels are now more round, instead of the square vibe it gave off before.
-Display now are dynamic, it shows speed by default as well as time gap. But it also shows brake bias when you change it, a pit animation when you go into pit, and more. Thanks to D3rza scripts. YOU NEED RARE INSTALLED AND RUNNING FOR THIS TO WORK.
-Some cars have different leds animation sequences, to be closer to the reality.
- Shaders were updated in 1.1, cars look better than previous version
-had no more kittens to kill after all the chrome tyre post I saw, so now I will use whatever cow I find when going to work at the morning.

This is the first time I include a dynamic display, it was originally developped for the FVA mod, but I thought it should be a great thing to include it on the 2008 mod too.

Edit : I regret deeply having introduced scriptable display. Now people ask me "why no work" 5min after release when they didn't read that we need RARE.......... now every time I have to push a non vanilla feature I'll have to weight the pro and cons of supporting this kind of problems
a tip , put the important message of a requirement right at the top! (people often don't read all the way through, only 1 or 2 sentences*)

eg. : "This update will bring scriptable display - by means of app 'RARE', to be separately installed, it will enhance the cockpit cam experience.

(*speaking from first hand experience... ;))

It didn't affect me using the car for practice and a race. I didn't see it until I went in to check if some skins I had downloaded were on the car. The skins aren't shown here but if you go to the "drive" screen they show up and will apply to the car.

I’m pretty sure those were the skins that had the wrong file name (no underscores or similar) relative to the car, so you may have generated an additional zombie car folder (that you are seeing here) - I suspect the car you drove was the actual one (in the other, correct folder).

So the skins caused the error? I guess I could remove them one by one to see which one is the problem.
 
I stumbled upon this pic from a shop in Indonesia:

First I thought they must have taken my logo and used it , but I made my logo only in beginning of 2022...
So their logo was made long before I made mine.
I never saw this logo before in my life , never been to Indonesia... So strange they are so similar.
Should I best make a new logo (can I get sued or something?) :scared:

skins folder was incorrectly made, Just press the folder button and cut the skins folder, Go to the actual car and paste it into that folder and it should be correct.
 
What causes these non sensical shadows?Smart shadows dosnt affect it.Its not in the wire frame.That adjustment Masscot showed us dosnt affect it.
First image looks fine.Turn a bit more and the shadow travels down the recessed plate area.

As @FrustratedUse said above, it was a problem with the skins themselves. I went back and dropped them into the car and it fixed the problem.
Not the skins were the issue, but the download tree had the wrong name. Well, the name was OK, but the guy took the underscores out. I informed him on overtake but got no response.

EDIT: he posted a new DL now...

Huh i know this feeling. My gamer logo also reminds me on something :confused: :dopey:

 
This is one of the most realistic TV Camtool videos I've seen yet, but I can't get Camtool 2 to see this particular one in-game.
It loads without problems.
Put the file in assettocorsa\apps\python\CamTool_2\data.

I know there is settings - assetto corsa - system - skidmarks Relative height ,
but whatever I put there it does not change in-game

EDIT : seems to be track related, it's on Bikernieki High Speed Ring track

You need to edit the 3d mesh of groove.

Pity that you used Rare for scriptable displays. Rare is outdated app, that its creator Schmawlik doesn’t support anymore.

Thanks, but sadly they are the same ones I had. All TV cams don't (or barely) show the car.

To stay in this series, I ask you if it is possible to turn off the "normal or Ramp rally" headlights via the skins file that a car with an ext_config in the skin folder.

I am making a skin pack for the Renault Dauphine, to be able to do race splits with a minimum of 24 participants.

I would like either the top or bottom light to work, if we want to do night or rain races, basically that the painted part is not lit, is it possible via an extension file in each texture folder? if so, can you give me the exact value to turn on the bottom or top headlights.
