Not sure.
That could be an issue with the pitlane.ai.
When you are in a qualifying session, are your opponents able to pit in after 5 or 6 laps?
Can you give me a link for the track? I could check it tomorrow.

Sure.

Layout 6 is the correct one for 1998.

I would appreciate if you could look at the Caesars Palace 1982 fastlane too. The cars always crash in the last corner before the goalline during the races and the ai is both slow and crashy on this track. We managed to improve it a bit with pekkahe but it's still crap.

Speaking of 1998 season, is there any review of the SDD 1998 or 1999 mod somewhere available? I really would like to read something beside of their own advertisement they throw around yt.

SDD 1998 is garbage. I tried to tweak it but they're untweakable. In some tracks they don't even function (they all drive out). You know the usual SDD stuff.

No idea about the new SDD 1998. But why even bother with SDD when the VS 1998 is in this condition now?

SDD 1988 is the only package that is actually ok. Well the cars function well with Rainmaker's 1988 track pack. 82, 83, 84 all have major issues which I've tried to solve during the year. The main one is the cars "crawling issue" which happens sometimes. Cars won't pit or retire after a crash/major contact but stay on the track driving 30 km/h and creating traffic issues. But that also happens with any Lotus98T based cars. Very occasionally and only on certain tracks though. In Monaco and Oesterreichring mainly. That I haven't solved.

Shi and Thockard made the 1998 tracks mainly for the VS. The tracks are all masterpieces and I think the Mac and Ferrari (now) drive extremely well. And I don't think any F1 cars have ever looked better? The season I did is religiously tweaked so that you get a great challenge. And no issues whatsoever with the cars and tracks.

All tracks and cars in this video with timestamps (Cars are missing the animated steering wheel digital display for whatever reason. Maybe I accidentally used the old version of the cars when I recorded the video).

Well... actually not, but it's the closest to what F1 used.
They used the Senna S and not Tobogán for 1995-1998.

Yep true. But it's very close. I meant it's the one to use as a base of this track conversion.

Any sign of an Elva-Porsche on the Assetto roadscape?

Could almost make one out of a lotus23?

Back in 2020 I tried to edit in some new incoming radio comms 'beeps' into Crew Chief with no success. I think the samples I was using were incompatible, or something.
Anyway, someone on the CC discord created some new comms cues which inspired me to have another bash.
Basically, the Chief and the Spotter now have new and unique 'incoming message' beeps (similar to the ones that signal radio comms from the pit engineers to the drivers in F1, but using different samples - a guy on the CC discord is working on one that uses the F1 audio).
If anyone wants to try them, remove the .txt extension, unzip it and replace the 'fx' folder in C:\Users[user_name]\AppData\Local\CrewChiefV4\sounds\ with this one.
You can back up your current 'fx' folder if you want, but this new one already contains an original archive.
Note: the first time you use it, you must shut down CC and restart it if adding this new folder while CC is running, so that the new samples are loaded.
(not that it affects anything, but I use Jerry as the Crew Chief and Micha as the spotter)

About noises and voices... this was an interesting attempt. That guy has a Patreon pay site with a lot of SimHub stuff for classic F1 but has been inactive for a while. But just imagine a proper commentary on the races. It's not impossible to do as hockey/basketball/football games all have commentaries. No one ever did it on a racing game (I think).

at Overtake there are a couple of announcer mods, do not know if they are active during the race, I think it was more for to edit them in your recorded videos.
Maybe this https://www.overtake.gg/search/40503243/?q=Murray+Walker&t=post&c[child_nodes]=1&c[nodes][0]=36&c[title_only]=1&o=relevance
Or as announcer bot https://www.overtake.gg/search/40503269/?q=Announcer&t=post&c[child_nodes]=1&c[nodes][0]=36&c[title_only]=1&o=relevance

What I would like to hear as an mod “the circuit announcer”, that specific voice from the racetrack speakers, especially at the start grid or in the pit.

Yeah that "Gaby" is the same guy who has the Black Sheep Racing Patreon site. Plenty of great stuff, excellent leaderboards but all SimHub based which I don't particularly like as you have to load them up every time separately. I prefer the Python/CM based HUDs which are always there for the whole season. That guy has plenty of great ideas.

Too bad we haven't seen the guy lately. He never got much attention with his great stuff.

Searching for the 1966/1967 Ferrari Dino 206s . I have searched everywhere for this rare mod. I know it exists. Does anyone have this mod they could share? I'm trying to replicate the 1966 12 hrs. at Sebring. This is the YouTube link with someone driving it in AC. .

Didn't Ian Bell promise this for his new racing sim, whatever it was called? Can't really remember as (rather ironically) there's been radio silence since the original announcement. I'm sure real-time properly reactive and contextually accurate AI-generated commentary was promised, along with a cure for the common cold and how to turn water into wine.

Happy New Year

48 new or updated cars (including 6 new models never seen in AC before), only a few encrypted where it was the request/condition of the modeller. If you want to contribute or improve the cars, reach out.

There's a manual with installation instructions, credits (apologies if anyone's missed, DM and we can change it), a donate button and much more.

Please note the Alfa Romeo TZ2 will only work on CSP versions prior to v0.2.3 at the moment.

Highly recommended with Alguecool's magnificent DeTomaso and Piper mods and Pasta, Bazza & co's the Alfa T33/2 from Overtake.gg

Enjoy!

Should we delete the old car folders first or can we just overwrite the existing mods? Built up quite a lot of skins over the years and would hate to have to backup every skin folder first. If I have to I will, but figured I would ask first.

Both Dino Spyder and Berlinetta are added to the updates WSC60's legends pack. In 2025 quality ;)

Does anyone have any skins for the Legion Formula Jedi car?

I was looking online and I'm not even sure if this car is even being distributed anymore, I've had it since Nov '22 and never messed with it til now. It is pretty fun though!

Well my Content Manager had a sudden update available for the Jedi F1000 so I went ahead and downloaded it. Voila, suddenly I have a full grid worth of skins. Again, no idea if this car is even available from legion, I've scoured Google for it and have found nothing. I can't even find what the link was in CM for the update

I wanted to share it with you guys, regardless. Happy racing :)
