You are a LEGEND! Thanks so much!
I'm sure. I dream of no hardware. Thx.Sure you don't want a local NAS running RAID? I've had one for years, never had any issues, and your data is safe and totally under your own control. And no subscription fees.
To me, the most important is the last sentence. We read before that Kunos contacted the leading developers of AC and will try to "motivate" them to start developing for AC Evo. Which totally makes sense from Kunos perspective. They know that as long as there will be new quality mods for AC1, AC1 will keep on thriving and AC2 will have a very hard time keeping up. But as soon as majority of top devs move to the new platform, the user base will follow. It happened to all top sims of the past (gtr2, Automobilista, Rfactor 1,....). And if they succeed in this that RSS, VRC, URD, Sergio Loro, Bazza,... move to AC2, AC2 will become a new king in due time. And that worries me personally the most. That AC1 will start loosing the user base and with that also quality new content. And I seriously doubt that Evo will be as open and as easy to develop for and especially as cheap from the average user perspective.Happy new year everyone. Also, some infor from VRC about what's next from them:

Before AC EVO will be ready (i mean ready at 100%) a lot of time will be required. AC EVO will also requires a new higher pc specs which not every sim-racers have. I doubt AC will be replaced soon and also modders will left it since people like RSS and VRC create a proper business around it.To me, the most important is the last sentence. Do consider this: even with the most expensive NAS , if your house burns down, you will probably loose your data!In order to have a safe NAS in RAID you need to invest in a quality NAS and drives, which at least in Italy are not cheaper if you want the right RAID. But for sure is the best solution for a "one payment" instead a recurring one for years
When there are parts inside that give unreal disturbing reflection (eg from curbs)I am forgetting what words to use to search the forum... when the ground reflects off the chrome parts of the cockpit... is there an extension that must be added to prevent?

I'm looking for replay cams for Mugello Short Layout (Legion).
Not CamTool..

I lost my spark effects last year in a similar scenario. It’s maddening.I'm getting no smoke in AC. I tried everything including particle fx in CM settings but nothing. I went back to older CSP still nothing. I tried all the stuff I could find on Reddit posts but nothing cured it. I even did a fresh clean install of windows 11 and installed AC still the same case. I'm ussing Pure, no Sol, tried the lates CSP still no smoke/dust. I went back to older CSP 0.2.4. I'm still not getting any smoke in the game. Can someone please help?
Of course man, i didn't want to go extremely deep with all the possible pro and cons of every situation making a post like a computer lesson, but, if you have a NAS (personally i would go only for Synology ones) the cost are quite high (the NAS itself + all the disks required for the RAID 5 or RAID 6 which are the only ones who give you the possibility to lose one or two disks without losing any data).Happy new year all!
Do consider this: even with the most expensive NAS , if your house burns down, you will probably loose your data!
(unless you foresee a 2nd NAS in an alternate location and setup mirroring - but then it becomes twice as expensive and cumbersome)
A week ago, I remembered the post from VRC saying they were removing the old mods because an upgrade was planned for the future to meet the new standards. And today, I see this. Nice! I really liked the 2015 Williams.Happy new year everyone. Also, some infor from VRC about what's next from them:

I don't know if my comment will be of any use, but a while ago something similar happened to me after installing a mod that was supposed to produce more sparks when racing with old F1s (don't ask me what mod it was because I don't remember), which in addition to not achieving the objective, altered (for the worse) the appearance of the exhaust flames...I lost my spark effects last year in a similar scenario. It’s maddening.
NiceNext big project: the remaster and addition of all Audi e-tron models, starting with the Audi e-tron GT Concept by EX-MODS (I added the rear wing, it doesn't work usually)View attachment 1417581
Also...enable Reflections FX and enable Local reflections in Extra FX.When there are parts inside that give unreal disturbing reflection (eg from curbs)
you can try adding this in config_ext.ini:
[MESH_ADJUSTMENT_...]
MESHES= mesh1, mesh2
MOVE_TO = COCKPIT_HR
OR you can make the part (mesh) or material none-reflective by adding :
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE= 1 ;0 to temp disable to compare
MESHES= mesh1, mesh2
;MATERIALS = material1, material2
PROP_... = ksAmbient, 0.50
PROP_... = ksDiffuse, 0.35
PROP_... = ksSpecular, 1
PROP_... = ksSpecularEXP, 150
PROP_... = fresnelMaxLevel, 0.0 ; this stops it from reflecting anything, increase eg to 0.01 to have some reflection
PROP_... = fresnelEXP, 1
PROP_... = fresnelC, 0.0 ; this stops it from reflecting anything, increase eg to 0.01 to have some reflection
PROP_... = useDetail, 1
PROP_... = detailUVMultiplier, 600
PROP_... = detailNormalBlend, .05
DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1
Names of meshes or materials that have the unreal reflection you can find via CM Showroom.

Probably not helping, but just FYI mine still backfires (latest CSP, PURE, PURE linear PP filter)...My bugatti 1923 tank, always did show nice carburetor backfire flames and this stopped after a while. As being an clear weather driver I’m not on Pure/Sol as being not useful, do not use FPS eaters like PPfilters and my apps are the same. The only thing that could be the cause is the CM/CSP updates, guess another correcting one problem and will create 4 new logic from Ilya.
Thats a very harsh comment. Have you considered it might just be your own system that caused the problem others dont have? tried doing a simple thing like reset csp settings? you are always free to roll back to older versions of CSP instead of complaining without knowing the real issue. Sol is dated and replaced by Pure by the way.... a LONG time ago, and frame rates are actually better than vanilla ac, and it makes the game look way better in clear weather.My bugatti 1923 tank, always did show nice carburetor backfire flames and this stopped after a while. I find the new Pures that I'll take pictures and it looks sublime, but that doesn't relate to how it works whilst driving, its not consistent in its looks, its hard to explain and even harder not to trigger, but it feels to me like its designed for pretty screen shots.Thats a very harsh comment. I know. My house actually burned down in 2005, so I should know. My hardware wasn't damaged by fire, but by water from the firefighters. So I have a cheap safeguard, keeping a backup disk somewhere else, and I update it manually and do an integrity check on it like twice a year. Not ideal, but better than nothing. For pictures I use Google photos, which should be pretty safe, but I still keep my own backup copies as well.Happy new year all!

If you use the "pure" ppfilter, you can tweak your preferred style in the Pure PP app "Script" tab.I find the new Pures that I'll take pictures and it looks sublime, but that doesn't relate to how it works whilst driving, its not consistent in its looks, its hard to explain and even harder not to trigger, but it feels to me like its designed for pretty screen shots.
