Oh god the Nordschleife... I've never learnt it. Still, my load cells arrived today so I have no excuse not to have a crack.

It is showing as white icon even though factory ABS is on.

is the 98 competing in the same class as the 312?

I bagsy the 98T, if everyone else uses the 312T then I've got a good chance of winning.

I think last time I drove it was in GT6 in some seasonal a long time back and I was hopeless at it although was using a DS3. Will be fun trying out the Assetto Corsa version for the first time and don't think I've yet driven the 98T in the game so will be an interesting experience. At least the speed of the car will make it feel like a shorter track than it is and track has some fun sections.

I've been a bit inactive, sorry for that. I hope I can find some time to try out this combo, thankfully I've got a bit of experience on the Nordschleife (no, sadly no real life experience). Seems like it'll be fun!

98T is a lot faster, over a minute difference on this track.

Looks like with 98T, you can't run full boost with damage on so I may 'cheat' and turn damage off although won't be eligible for Pro ranking.

My very first attempt at this. I tell you what, this is an intense car to drive. I feel I could knock those 26 seconds off given enough practise (not two laps xD) and a decent race tune for it. Hopefully I will have the time to try again. I still think I am far too conservative

Going to try this after 1.3 comes out. I think I will need all the luck I can get as hoping to go over a minute faster than that time although I haven't driven yet on this track in this game or with this car. Hopefully the car is stable under braking and got good power delivery and balance through the corners, that would make things easier.

I am not ashamed to admit that my lap was really scruffy, mostly due to my own fault of getting to much onto the curbs and losing time that way. I cannot see myself getting any lower than 6:00 though. Under braking I found the car is fantastic, but the way the power is delivered out of the corners really poses a massive challenge! Once you are into a corner though it grips really really well. Also, at the high speeds it requires extreme precision, which I think is something a G27 sadly cannot get on steering (though if you have custom load cells you'll be able to manage the power and brakes far better than I)

Thanks for info about the car, will know what to expect when I get to drive it, sounds like it will be great fun. Stock G27 is great I think, it is what I'm using for nearly 4 years now and has enough precision to do World Record times which is the most important thing for Time Trials.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you practise? And what settings do you use?

Not much practice, if it weren't for these challenges I would only have driven like a handful of cars in the game and probably wouldn't have played this sim for the last few months. I got the Dream Pack 1 DLC a while back but only drove some of the content with it due to these challenges.

I use standard settings I think, maybe lowered some things so the G27 doesn't rattle as much. Hopefully the update gets rid more of the noise as I find it annoying.

Was much cleaner than the first but I still think I have ten seconds to be able to save.

Here's my 3rd clean lap (quite a few restarts ):



I initially bumped the downforce up from default but you soon feel the drag... I never knew the Ring had so many straights lol. This car has so much grip with the quali tyres and optimum track grip. I've not changed much else setup wise, I also don't think I've used the boost.

Was on course for a sub 6 minute lap. Blew it two corners before the long straight. Well, that's me done sadly!

For the sake of purely putting a lap time in, here is my time. This is the first lap I was able to do without binning it. Never really driven this track properly so still very much learning it! Pretty epic bit of road though, I think I'm going to sit in the new Huracan GT3 for a few hours and learn it when I get a chance next. Unfortunately I only had about half an hour to both look at the new dream pack and set that time, I have to go to work now

My first ever valid complete lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife on Assetto Corsa.

Lotus 98T - Nordschleife 5:45.817

Quite sloppy lap, got more tentative as the lap went on just so I don't end up in the barriers. Seems the tyres overheat a lot even after only a few corners into the lap, makes last sector hard as no confidence in if rear end of car is going to stick or not. Maybe with a bit more experience can shave over 10 seconds.

I'm happy that I managed one complete lap, can now go back into hibernation.

Think Adam will obliterate my time if he uses full power. (Press 0 for full boost and put engine limiter to 108% and turn damage off. Also turn off fuel consumption and change litres to 1 in setup. Can use more downforce then, I used 12/17.). Think more time is made by putting the power down on track and carrying more speed into corners, braking seems easy bit with this car.

12/17? I used 8/11 xD I had full boost on, but didn't play with the limiter lol

I tried low downforce, seemed fine but thought I would need all the grip I can get with this turbo monster. Also seemed to get decent top speed even with high downforce.

I was completely standard setup with 40L of fuel and 60 percent boost so I didn't blow the engine, but that isn't responsible for my lap time, I just don't know the track.
