I just found the lag a pain... I reach the apex, start to feed the power in, nothing much happens, then BOOM, the turbo spools up and I'm in the barriers

It doesn't feel very fluid to drive.

I find the Yellowbird more pleasant to drive with the Turbo set at around 10~30%. Then it really shines.

Isn't that part of its charm?

There is a GTP member who's name I can't remember at the moment. He's been a Porsche enthusiast for a long time - has driven 'em forever. I'm paraphrasing here, but he said something like, "Take the Yellowbird down to 10% Turbo and she drives just like an old Carrera..." Turbo can't be turned down to 0%, hence the 10% recommendation. If anyone is interested you can find the post in the main lobby of the AC section here on GTP.

EDIT: Found it...

Here's a mod I've been slowing tweaking for yonks. I find it a blast to do 100% AI spec races on slicks and track days with it on streets tyres, where it's a bit more wild. Really happy with how it's come together and I love how it cocks the inner rear wheel.

Here's the first 2 laps of a full field spec race with a quick cycle through of the F6 onboard cameras I made recently. Driving with a PS3 controller.
Car stats: 462Bhp, 522nm Torque, 4WD (23/77), 1193Kg.

Wow! 1 month from my last AC vid. This time Praga R1 on Zandvoort. Slighty cold temps but tires were quite freezed, Fast tarmac condition with 97% grip.

Hope you enjoy.

Just a Sunday drive in the Mclaren P1 :)

I noticed you filled the fuel tank to 100%. Respect. 👍 You really feel the extra weight of a full tank versus the standard 20 or 30 liters most cars are set to. I don't know if Kunos programs fuel to behave like a liquid and try to move in the direction of the greatest force. Personally, I doubt that Stefano did. Still, it's a different experience on full fuel...especially with gas pigs like the F40 & Countach.

I keep telling myself that I need to get my a$$ into the seat of the Tatuus FA01 at least once a week. From what people tell me, it's a fantastic training car for babies like me who can't handle modern high power Formula/Indy cars. I've driven it a handful of times and I will admit it's fun as hell. :D It handles so well and it's not a scary torque monster.

One question: Those on-screen apps for the console version...the Position/Lap counter, track map, pedals, tachometer, etc... Are you allowed to move them around? I'd guess you probably don't have 100% complete placement control, but are there multiple areas where you could move a particular app to? How do you make them appear/disappear? Do you have to set that before getting into your car?

Bang her up to 80%, with no aids, then you'll be smiling, like i was when i first drove her in AC! ;)

I can't figure how you do that "turismo like" slide at corner entry?
I find all the turbo lag road cars extremely depressing and dull to drive: CTR, F40 & Huyara etc.. I actually do have decent throttle control, but there's absolutely no feeling until the point when it's too late

We've all been there - the default's 80%, so everyone has tried it that way and laughed like a maniac while doing so - especially on Street 90s SV tyres.

My point is that there's an interesting chassis down there which really comes to life when you down the boost, meaning you're not distracted by that huge lag/wheel spin and can be more concentrated on enjoying and exploring its limits.
