Who is the only player who has played in the Conference, League Two, League One, the Championship, the Premiership, the Intertoto Cup, the UEFA Cup, the Champions League and the World Cup?

That question rings a bell. I'm sure I asked something like it before (might have been "scored in" though).

This question itself has not been asked yet, because the player in question hasn't been mentioned once.

I just thought of a ridiculous answer on the toilet. I will explain my reasoning first.

I'm only aware of three English teams who've even competed in the Intertoto Cup - Wednesday, Newcastle and Villa - and I'm aware Newcastle won it and thus got a UEFA Cup spot. On the basis it's probably a player who entered English football high and stayed in England as he waned a bit - thus probably not an England player - and that he has the best name ever and I KNOW he's played for Colchester (L1, L2) and Darlington (Conference)...

Lomana Tresor Lua Lua.

And if that's right, I'm quitting this thread because that's the most random guess of all time.

Stay with us Famine.

Lua Lua did not play in the Conference (his cousion Tresor Kandol did), nor did he play in the World Cup. Good thinking, though.

Plus, akmuq beat you to it with the correct answer of Steve Finnan. Welling (Conference), Notts County (League Two), Fulham (League One, Championship, Premiership, Intertoto), Liverpool (UEFA, Champions League) and Ireland (World Cup) are the clubs and nation which made that stat possible.

I don't think Congo ever made it it to the World Cup though. He did score twice in a Pompey - Those that can't be mentioned derby, so he is a hero in my book.

Dave Beasant was the first in a FA Cup Final, as for any game at Wembley, that must be going back a bit further. Anywhere between late 19th Century upto 1988!

It was in the 70s.

I only know this one because the goalkeeper in question used to play for the team I support.

According to wiki the first penalty kick ever awarded in english football was on the 14th september 1891!!! so yeah, it needs to be narrowed down a little!!

dhandeh
So, a goalie who played for Wrexham. Haven't got the foggiest

He wasn't playing for Wrexham at the time; Wrexham have never played at Wembley. But this goalkeeper was signed from Wrexham, and went on to be the record appearance holder for his new club, while also becoming the first person to save a penalty at Wembley.

As I said, it happened in the 70s which gives you a fragment of help...

Edit: It's not Gordon Banks.

Aaaahhh i see..

..well i cant think of anyone else...this is a good question Liquid!👍
