For those of you inquiring about the file size of the update, keep in mind that there are TWO videos that are in the Vision GT section (one for each car, of course) that needed to be installed.

I'm not a big fan of these time trials. I get my Gold and move on. In the case of this car, I barely got gold - but it was after only a couple of warm-up laps, learning the car's behavior. I'm not trying to say that I could approach the times you guys achieve, but I don't know...there's something about these Vision GT cars that I just don't like, so I don't spend much time doing the events.

You're not wrong, but you forget a thing.
I mentioned it in the update1.10 topic and in another topic.
We can add race numbers on lots of cars.
if you go to that section to add the sticker and number.
Add it, then go to the number and hold right button (it count from 0 up to 99?)
and watch the car, you see that there is a grey square waiting to load the number texture.
This square is build up by at least 2 polies or more( 2 triangle polies create a square), depending if it has to be curved along the body.
There are 4 places where the numbers appear.
these polies are added to the 3d model wireframe.
Every model is diffrent, so i think all these 3dmodels are replaced with the models with added polies for the racenumber texture.

That's also in the updated size, the edited 3d wireframe models.

Oh, they actually changed the geometry of the vehicles to incorporate the race number stickers and numbers? I guess I didn't think of that. I thought it would just be a texture overlay. I've done quite a lot of modelling/animating in 3dsmax and a little in Maya, so I am familiar with the various processes one could do. You are right, if they had to actually replace elements of the 3d models then that would greatly affect the physical size of the update. In addition to whatever data has been thrown in 1.10 to accomodate the upcoming track from Spain that we've all been waiting on since late January!!

Car is great but tyre choice for
This track-awful!!!

The gearbox is just ready for trash!! Like, when you Manila change the gear from 4 to fifty, car start to accelerate like slow from 220kmh till it comes to rev limiter, and then kick in and go brutally foward when you change it to 5th. So, early Change tomftfty gear, to keep the momentum!

Didn't really like the time trial too much, car is all over the place. Managed the gold no worries, then took the car and had a good look at the specs. Apparantly, they were racing tyres on it for the time trial. Handling with the tyre/ suspension combo is rubbish for a 4wd supercar. I then gave it a mild tune and power downgrade and took it to Nurburg for the 600pp race. Wow, totally different beast. Absolute pleasure to drive. Ended up toying around with the McLaren and the Huara? just to see how it really went. With good tyres and some brakes, man this things a weapon.

Wohoo:D:D! Managed a 0:46:378 which put me on #174. Extremely happy with that, but I wasted so much time in the last 2 corners. And I was really nervous at the wheel today, see for yourselves:

On that right handerbe4 you come
To last right hander, you were bit wide, and I'm wondering how did you Not get"invalid lap-leaving the track" on this part of
The track, b'coz, if I like go bit wide my Lap is invalid!

But, solid lap, very unstable, nervous, I think you can do better, and my Time Is almost like yourse! But need bit time to improve my lap b'coz the car slides as hell!

If i master the"S"(middle) sector I can do as well 45.9!

Great time!!
You will get a good time if you nail that. The key is to get the car to drift when coming out of the second corner. If you turn into the 2nd corner early then it should line up nicely for the S.

I've seen how other do and the me is to get the momentum with drift in the corner to get maximum speed out of it-agree, but, the right hander be4 that corner is bit bumpy, firs nail this one, near the Vera as much as possible and third left hander with drift....!

How find you the gearbox?! In my opinion, it's crap, specialy from 4th to 5th gear, when you not change early (around 7.200rpm) you'll loose massive speed!!

Don't take the 2nd corner wide as its hard to create a drift. Take the corner like this ^ if you get my meaning :) Stay away from it's apex. Shift to 3rd gear as you are coming out of the corner with your foot down and you should feel the rear end lose grip.
Gearbox is ok for me, took me awhile to figure it out though

I'm entering the 2nd corner tight, on the cerb, shift to 3rd so in the middle Of it and try to get best possible line for the 3rd (drift) corner, sometimes I nail it but sometimes I miss the drift corner or I drift to much. It's hard with so much power and those Tyres to keep the car stable in those corners, and if you make it good, like You, you'll be awarded and if you miss it you loose massive time....

So, I need practice this 2nd and 3rd corner b'coz otherrt of
The track I drive perfect!

I pulled a a 49.463 around Red Bull Ring Short Track to pick up the ultra hot Aston Martin DP-100. The car sounds great and quickly rushes to speed. I stumbled a bit on my first lap since I am not really used to racing the short course of Red Bull Ring. I'm so used to [the track I've always known as the] A1 Ring's Grand Prix course across a number of games.

Anyhow, I only did two laps in my run with the Aston Martin DP-100. I love the profile of this car from all around. Only thing I probably wished for was maybe a headlight design as polarizing as the One-77 or any of the other top-end current Aston Martins. I got mine in a solid Electric Blue.

Are you writing a book or a short comment about you're lap time? :D

I managed to squeeze out a 00:46:103, which put me on #100. "Only" 0,6s slower than Wolf_Aono.
What a great challenge, I just love these time trials.
For me, it's all about the chicane after Turn2. If you get that right, you're on for a nice lap!

I always do "short comments" on lap times in Seasonals. It's just that I put my own spin on things and show a little personality. That's just me.

I'd much rather read a little bit "about" your lap - what you liked/disliked, what you've learned about the car, etc... rather than just see you post a time and move on. I don't understand what that comment was all about. If you notice his two previous comments they were no different than yours. Keep doing what you're doing! 👍

upshift early from lower RPM, left foot brake for stability, for the win.

though this is the worst handling VGT thus far. not impressed. particularly apex entries on the downhills. I have better apex entries from '80s GM sedans.

Agree, but, those are "week"Tyres for this car. RS should improve the handling!

I wonder how long it'll be before someone posts "RS tires are for kids".

I haven't tried this car yet and I'm a bit disappointed to read that it doesn't handle very well.

I found the Aston to handle much much better than the Nissan. I only ran 3 laps, first 2 were red, got silver on 3rd lap and I'm done. Both of these 2 Vision GT cars were quite a let down from the previous Vision GTs. Since you get the car by completing a lap, I did my lap and have the car and a nice red paint chip to boot. The extra credits were a plus. I don't really care for the TTs but hey you play what PD gives you which isn't much IMHO.

Just for kicks I took the stock Aston (799 hp / no oil change) out to Suzuka Circuit, and gave it proper tires (Sport Hard.) The result was 5 seconds faster than the Veyron.

With a wheel, under 2 minutes is a possibility! This would be the only non-racecar that could achieve that on SH tires!

The Ferrari FXX can do 2:05 on a controller and the Zonda R isn't far behind, so those might have a chance as well.

I was watching a couple of your YouTube videos last night and then I came up with a question. Have you ever done a comparison of the Vision Gran Turismo cars -- which I imagine would involve running them on Suzuka with the same tires to see who the champ is.

Got a :47.924 , but I'm really struggling with this one :banghead:
The more I try it the worse I get

That is a small proof that GT6 is a sim now. As in real life driving, when pushing above the limit, only bad things happen! Except when you know how and want to drift...
