I am going to work on adding all sorts of post race penalty options, but it will take a little while. But first what sort of penalities do we want?

I am thinking (not just for this league but to cover all):

+XX seconds finishing time
-XX points
-XX positions

Anything else? Maybe KG ballast (but impossible to police)?

Definitely -XX seconds finishing time,which IMO should mirror the time lost by the other parties involved.On the fail to pit,really the only option is DSQ,or relegation to rear of field as the advantage gained by not pitting is huge

I don't understand how Gastro keeps his podium when he also didn't pit twice?? and that they finish above nasanu,Badmf-1 & Greasy07. Shouldn't it be the same as not using both compounds in F1?? Surely it should be WIDFO in P10 & gastro in P11?? It's no-one elses fault that they hadn't read the championship rules,so the people who did pit twice should automatically finish above them as they met the race criteria.

kg ballast is not impossible to police, thanks to the last update which allows you to see the pp hp and weight everyone is running.

Shows ANOTHER major glitch with GT6!! Unbelievable that replays are not even replays!!! I'll put my replay up on youtube & post the link tomorrow so all can see Heathenpride getting damage he didn't at all,and Gastro supposedly driving straight past the pits on lap22 which others have him pitting. Ok i will explain myself.
Once upon a time there was a championship that had just begun and Gastrointestinal entered the race hoping that he could win. The story goes on like this....

"Here i was racing away thinking that i might be able to do the whole race without doing any pitstops at all.
Come lap 20 i started losing pace and understeering and thought to myself that ok i will have to make a pitstop.
At this time i had forgotten completely that there was a 2 pit rule.
As i was doing my pitstop at the end of lap 22 i think it was, Vendalism typed up that there was a 2 stop rule so i was forced to make another one before the end of the race.
After a few laps i went in for my 2nd pitstop so i would not incur a penalty.
And so i did.....
I would provide evidence but sadly for me i did not save the replay as at the time i didnt think i needed to. There were no incidents to report and i was happy with the race."
So there you have it.
That is my story...

Bit concerned about the inconsistency in replays though, I can live with a lot of game issues (I do love racing after all) but if one user shows a car pitting and another showing the car going past the pits?

I think the penalties for this race are good but for future races a straight DQ for pit requirement breaches.

That way we all know it, can't complain and ensures that no one can benefit from a breach and still finish well which can happen with full damage on. One mass pile up can put you over a min ahead so if you only stop once and get 60 sec pen you could potentially still win. Unlikely, but possible.

I personally don't mind either way, as we all have a drop round, but it was unfair for a fair few drivers.In the end it's just a video game lol.

I'm good either way.Only suggested it because of the amount of people affectedHope no hard feelings Gastro,hope you understand why i was so perplexed as i'll post the lap 20-28 replay on youtube & post the link so you can see,on my replay(not a replay,a fiction made up by PSN,lol)that you supposedly go straight past the pits on lap 22,but have an incident on lap 23,lowering your time,but not quite to the normal pitlap time!lol

It would be interesting to hear what sort of connection speed your PS3's report on the Internet Connection Test just prior to entering Vendal's room and also the number of "signal strength bars" on his room when in the lobby. I presume that Vendal has a "very good" internet connection as it is his connection that gets all the traffic when operating under the "fixed ownership" setting. I race regularly in a room with a poor signal strength (0 bars) and without the fixed ownership setting and the only time we get any lag or disconnects is when someone joins with a poor internet connection.

I believe that latency is the main reason for problems playing this game. Is there a way for the PS to report its ping time?

In theoy u should be able to use the browser on the ps3 and go to www.speedtest.net
And do a speed test that way.
I have not tried it but will give it a go later...

I understand the confusion with the pitstop thing guys, especially when replays are showing different things from the same race.
I don't like cheaters or hackers for that matter so believe me when i say i did do 2 stops. To win because of cheating would be a hollow victory and i am not about that.

As a suggestion.... maybe we should trial the 2 pitstop regulation that is provided in the game perhaps? Or does that have bugs in it also?

Ok just did a ping test through the ps3 browser on www.speedtest.net and the results are surprising.
had to go to ping test though not speed test and ps3 doesnt have flash player.

Through my default optus server i got a
62ms ping time.
when i switched to the telstra server it gave me a 32ms ping.
Both tests said that it is a "B+".
I run naked adsl2+ at my place with all new components... eg, new sagem modem and all new cables.
If people are having ongoing issues with connections after covering all bases like i have, i suggest getting the main phone line wiring to your house checked by a technician.
If all that fails then maybe there is too much congestion going through the internet exchange where your isp has connected your service.

I have Telstra cable with 32mbps, excellent quality cables, great ping and rarely have issues - 2x online 24hr races with no dc on my resume

Consistently good room stability too so if there's ever an issue with host stability I'm happy to do it as a last resort 👍

I've been thinking of running a Race Car series season, so I ran some tests with ZR1 09 Race Car @ 650 BHP and it's a very fun and rewarding car to drive, and would make for a great race car to race.Surprisingly it's only 300,000 odd credits in the shop.

If we get enough interest I would suggest either a Friday night or Saturday Day or Night or Sunday race schedule? Each driver could also nominate their favourite circuit to be included in the season race calendar?

Your thoughts ?
