I thought I'd best get a few more laps on this before the deadline and it aint half as bad as I found on the first attempts :dopey: anyway my best save has 18.197 / 55.707 .... but this beat my previous best save that had 18.2 / 55.6 due to a sweeter section after T2 so I know I have a few tenths to collect in between T1 and T2 but after T2 this lap will be pretty hard for me to beat as its pretty solid I think :dunce:

Will get another session in before the deadline to be sure 👍
Good luck to all

Is there a dictionary definition of 'pwned'? Does it say "See: Mr P"? In fact, is that what the P of Mr P stands for?...

No its P-earlman, as in Ron Pearlman, you know, he used to be in Cheers.

Good, fast times there Venari, I'd like to know why you have a barbecue as your avatar though.

:mischievous:👍

And stop copying my postends.

:irked:👍

Erik, sorry I haven't posted a time sooner just been real busy since we got back home. I got a chance to run about 20 laps this morning. I must admit to this combo not being my cup of tea but, you know me I'll run anything. In any event here are my first efforts.

19.404
58.535

Hope to get more in later! and maybe catch Kevin.

18.303
56.214

Still not hanging all three sections together. I don't think I'll manage a really good overall time.

Okay re the thumbsup... (heh) and, uh, I just liked what happens when you turn a McLaren upside-down.

:dunce:👍

Have'nt this in a couple of days but just done a quick session, and hopefully get quick one in later on aswell

Splits

18.764

I forgot to write my time down and am at work now, can I submit it at 5pm your time Erik (4pm PST)?

Jerome

Good reminder guys! will boot the PS2 and submit now also ... same splits as before as I have not been racing anything in days.

Good luck to all

Jerome

That will make the deadline by an hour I think.

I'll update the leader board one more time a little later 👍

I am such a complete loser this week. :dunce:

I thought we had a midnight MST deadline and that I would be able to run again tonight.

I know my lap to the 10's, but I do not have the 100's or 1000's.

Erik - I will not be home until an hour after the deadline, at the soonest.

Can I PM you with what I know for now and send you the exact time once I am home?

If not, I understand................:guilty:

EDIT: I'm not sure of my new splits either, but I picked up about 0.4 at the line vs. the splits I have posted on here. If I do not see an answer from Erik, I will PM my (partial) submission.

I have no idea how you guys are getting those T1's. I'm .500 behind Ron at T1

Any hints?

Use your throttle when you brake for the first chicane, to keep the arse from sliding Jerry.

Get your braking points perfect, but also get a very good start out of the hairpin onto the start/finish straight, then carry 5th right into the first kerb on the left.

Should be 129/130mph on the start line.

I hate the frustration of racing for one hour, and gaining only 1 tenth.

:irked:👍

Thanks, but sadly my time is up. :( It appears that I have been given the role of taxi driver for the next hour, so that's it for me.

I got in just under an hour and improved my splits and my lap time. I don't think it's enough for a podium, but as this is my first attempt with a DFP without touching the DS2 (very hard not to pick it up), I'm happy.

From memory:

You should be crossing the line at 128/129/130mph. Move across to the right but don't go near the edge. Begin to turn in gently, you're aiming to place the car alongside the lefthand kerbing, and you've got to get the car straight to do it as early as possible. You can either straighten and lift, or be more aggressive by tapping the brake while you've got the throttle pinned.

As soon as you get close, you need to brake hard past the first apex, and come down to 3rd and 70mph. As you get towards 70mph, you have to be turning right, but ideally, you won't be getting your tyres over the kerbs on the right at all.

Perfect method is to get the car yawing clockwise, translating right, but not putting the front right wheel over the kerb. As soon as you think you can, nail the throttle and if you've got it right, third will be enough to push the car forward in drift, the car will go over the crest and start to acclerate. You'll need to correct, but ideally not much so that the car drifts left towards the left-hand exit kerbing. You should be parallel to that kerb on a perfect run and acclerating.

Once it's straight and not drifting anymore, sweep to the right. You'll be approaching the second S quite quick if you've got it right, and you'll have to choose between unbalancing the car on the entry and trying to drift the left and flick it right under 'some' brakes as you climb hard.... or.... what I do is lift off and brake down to 105ish on a smooth entry arc, not clipping the lefthand kerb, then letting off the brake as you climb the hill and not clipping the right hand kerb while applying part throttle to keep the car above 75.

This is where it usually goes horribly wrong for me, and I spear off left or clip the kerb and spin into the marshals box on the right. :D

If you've nailed it, you'll feel the car unbalance itself over the crest near the second apex and drfit left towards the lefthand exit kerbing. The key is not too apply too much throttle while you're still drifting, or at least, be aware that the car will try to spin clockwise if you do get heavy footed.

EDIT Oops, too late.

Sorry, mate. I feel bad now.

Time submitted.

experiencing technical difficulties please stand by :P

congrats to Ron for the top spot 👍 and Mike a close 2nd, nice one mate. VEXD rounds it out on the first race where the comp is usually high.

Jake comes back with a strong time and Jerry holding his own while sticking with the wheel, you have more conviction then I :dopey:

A solid run by Niels who I've not seen much of lately 👍 Congrats to all who kept the box headed in the right direction and thanks for running.

I'll work out a spreadsheet in case mike can't get his shop back up and I'll have the next race posted before too long.

Erik

Well done MrP, Ren-Tec and VEXD for the top positions.
It was a fun combo once I understood how to push the car around the track. I was getting very good up to the left downhill sweeper. My fastest t1 was a 18.4xx. I had a lot of trouble with the esses near t2. I was hoping (as always) for a miracle lap this week but it didn't happen.
Cool, a points system. Thats encouraging. 👍
On to Seattle.

Yep, well done Ron and Mike, those are some fast times, and congrats to everyone else on an excellent race

I tried last night to improve, but just could not string a lap together :banghead:

Anyway, onto seattle reverse, im already dreading it

Good luck to everyone

:irked:👍

Congrat's to Ron. Mike and David for their great runs.

As Erik said, a nice run by Jake in his brief return!

Kenny, nice run for topping the D3 guys and beating me handily.

Next week is more my kind of combo, already put in some laps last night and posted splits. I need to spend some time with that squirelly Opel this weekend, but trust me, I will make time for this and make a better showing. ;) :mischievous:

Kevin
