watching my brother drive his '01 225 from new, for 8 years, I still like the original. All I can say is, if Audi are adding a kink in the rear side window, may as well go all in to make the window bigger.

Like the front
Rear is nice
But what is going on with the inside.
Inside reminds me of wipeout for some reason.

with an interior like this, the gear selector is the odd one out. I'd actually prefer a gear selector on the steering column. even though I still prefer a manual.

Its a pretty interesting idea, and one I quite like. Granted, as much as I think the four-door coupe thing is silly, I can't avoid how much the A7 has made me turn that opinion upside down, and I think this (should it ever make production) would do much the same.

Still, uh, you got any more of that TT Sportback that everybody wants?

Inevitable niche-plugger i guess. Looks much better 'in the flesh' than it does in the renders. That stretched TT shape suits the 4 door better than the regular 2 door. Looks really nice 👍

I'm of the same opinion. This TT Sportback is heaps better than anything "Gran Coupe" BMW has come up with...

It's safe to assume it'll retain the 362hp 2.5 litre turbo-5 from the RS3. Which is a good thing.

Now Audi has further developed the five-cylinder engine in all areas – with lightweight construction measures, reduced internal friction and increased power delivery. As a result, the turbo engine gains a good 17 percent increase in performance at an unchanged capacity of 2,480 cc. At 294 kW (400 hp), it is more powerful than ever before.

Absolutely love 5 cylinder engines. The Audi TT RS is probably my favourite car being produced in Germany right now!

For me it's a double edge sword.

While I like the more angular shapes, the lights and the new engine's weight savings (26kg on the engine!)... It's limited at that.

I don't like the digital cluster. It's a nice gimmick, but i like mechanicals more. I don't like the pneumatic e-brake, I don't like the keyless entry (very easy to get stolen, and very hard to prove).

Mostly though, I hate Audi for ditching manuals on all Sport Cars. Way to aliniate customers....

Engine:
The 8J RS had instead of Aluminium, high tensile Composite Metals. So you shave of weight, but maybe on the costs of durability... though the old RS engine had it's fair share of complaints (like pistons skirts being a bit too slim,...) but all those only manifested if one tuned the car over 430hp with stock internals on high boost....

But shaving weight on the front axle, should benefit the TT for Turn-in behavior... till people start killing themselves again, and Audi needs to make the oversteer into understeer again....

My biggest complaint is the price : the new one starts at the end price of mine. which is stuffed with options...

If I would be in the market for these category now, I probably would go M2.... as sad as it is... as a year long Audi enthusiast, they are starting to loose me (plus the possibility that every VAG customers pays the emission scandal with lowerd standards (on the safety, mechanical margins) on the cars)

Good point, no new TTRS = modding the 8J :D I think with sway bars, KW Clubsport 3way, Haldex ECU and HGR Stage 3 with Clubsport package, turn the 8J into ballistics

I wonder if they have will have an option to remove the "quattro" detailing on the front grille, seems out of place for me.
