Hey Guys,

Just wondering if any of you know what type of Australian cars will be in GT5...

My Wishlist; 2007 HSV E-Series GTS, 2007 HSV Clubsport R8, HSV GTO Coupe, 2006 Holden VE Commodore SS-V and SV6, 2005 Holden Monaro CV8-Z, FPV BFII GT-P and BFII F6 Typhoon Spec-R, Ford Falcon BFII XR6 Turbo and XR8. And ofcourse the 2007 series HRT V8 Supercar and FPR V8 Supercar.

Any help would be great... 👍

id like to see that joss supercar in the game, even if it isnt finished. and im not to sure if it ever will be, but it would be nice to see there.

yeah some old beast's would be great... The old HSV VL Walkinhaw, 1996 HSV GTS-R, HSV VN SS Group A etc... but being realistic most of these cars wont be featured and both Holden and Ford will probably have a small amount of cars to their name in GT5 :(...

we need more Aussie cars but simple Australia is to small we need to promote our best forward for gt6 i guess

our old muscle cars were truly the best of there time, and would easily whip anything from any other country(Japan/euro/usa)......although I am a bit biased!!!!! It would be great to put them up against the best of the world in GT5 for a comparison in handling and pace.BTW PD please check out the car wish list for full run down of Aussie whats hot from the late 60s till now and I promise u wont be dissapointed

I also think we need more Aussie cars in GT5. I think it's wrong that they have included so many Japanesse cars, and then they include a samller of cars from contrys like England, where I live. And then Australia, well there has only ever been 10 Aussie cars in GT throughout the whole series!

P.S: Crikey, there goes my bomerang. Oh no, it's coming back!

I would really like more Austrailian cars because as far as I kno, it's the only other country besides America that has muscle cars, and some pretty cool ones at that. Plus they have some sweet cars that are sharing platforms with some new, awesome American cars like the Pontiac G8 and GTO. If it were up to me, Austrailia would have the second most amount of vehicles in the game (with America being the first (because im from America))!

Naturally I too wish to see a good range of Australia V8 classic road & race cars.

But I will stick my neck out and also hope for some other imported, adopted & bastardized aussie cars to appear in the used car dealerships :)

Such as the Ford Carpi (No not 'The' Ford Capri, I mean the other one... yes, that one - the horrible convertible exported to the states! :D)

Ford Laser - FWD and the 4WD TX3 model (all based on the Mazda 323)

A Nissan with a 'Pulsar' badge! :)

The old Suzuki swift... aka the mighty Holden Barina

and of course some poxy Mitusbishi Magnas - if only so we can bash them when they are driven by grandpa, aka the AI :D

Riiight. Try telling that to 454 Chevelle LS6, Charger 426 Hemi, and Torino Cobra Jet 428. They aren't about to let their distant cousins form across the pond beat them.

I'll give you the '70s and '80s, thanks to our government forcing too fast a change, but you have to remember where the Musclecar was born. ;)

On topic, While not as fast as a 426, I'd love to see the little Valiant Hemi "Charger" with it's Hemi'd Slant Six in there, as well as one of each Group A era touring car...Thus far, all we really have to play with from that era is the 190E Evo II and the Calsonic R32. Brock's Mobil 1 Holden would be a good start for the ATCC, as well as the TWR Jaguars and Johnson's '85 Mustang.

and, chances are, we'll at least have the Holden VE Commodore...as the G8.

Has Austraila ever made any supercars?
^ Yes they already did! Its called the Carbontech Redback Spyder:

:)

BT-> I'm sure especially after GT4, PD will definitely offer Aussie cars on GT5 if not on-disc, maybe as a DLC in the future.

:)

true the muscle car did originate from the US (thanks for that:tup:) but I'd put money on those US cars mentioned getting thrashed on any circuit other that an oval or a drag strip by the perrenial Aussie muscle.I think SPEED channel did a comparison with all the big block muscle cars which was very interesting (all used period tyres ect) and to watch them through the slaylem was comical to say the least.:)

I would like to see more Aussies cars like Commodore Ve, ford falcon, toyota aurion and mitsubishi 380 to do some comparisons
and of course others greats cars

Aurion and 380???

Both of these cars have a lot of good qualities but however both are FWD with close to or over 200Kw. Any person who knows cars knows that too much power to those front wheels gives u a little thing i like to call 'Torque Steer'... This factor was later increased with the TRD superchraged version of the Aurion... 241kw @ Flywheel for a front wheel drive is not going to handle well and i believe it would be too difficult to drive in GT5. If the car was say AWD or RWD then i wouldnt complain. As for the 380... its just a boring car, nothing exciting about it at all really.

I did some research on this subject some time ago, don't think I ever got around to posting it here though. The US cars are indeed quicker down the quarter mile but not by much but given that Australia's muscle cars were usually homologation specials for touring car racing the US muscle cars wouldn't see which way they went on a circuit.

Here is a little write up I did a while ago on some Australian cars I would like to see in GT5, or GT6, or 7, maybe.....

As happy as I would be seeing Australian cars in GT5, I'd ask PD to put a little statement in their brief history of the manufacturer: that Holden is actually owned by GM. My main gripe with Holden fans is that they accuse Ford of not being Australian and then ignore the fact that Holden is owned by an American company.

"fans" are blindingly one sided. its called patriotism! I prefer to be the user of fit, form, and function. Whats best for the job for the best price for the best... etc :)

At the moment... i still hate the look of Fords ;) Even though Holden have Chev engines... at least Ford make theirs! (tho who really knows these days!)

I'd like Aussie tracks over car's so long as they had at least a handful of aussie cars. That'd be awesome!

only dumb**** holden fans would make that assumtion.......previous commodore had its roots(basic floorplan/styling) dating back to a late 70s Opel from Germany (also owned by GM).Ford/Holden/Chrysler australia did in the past tend to draw on the best qualities from each of there subsiduries/parent companys models to produce truly great and unique Aussie versions........leaving the americans to there ill handling ugly land yachts and the Europeans to great handling but under powered econoboxes! That said I still love any car from any country and i do not care if everycar ever made is included in GT5 (a dream i hope will become reality b4 im too old to pick up a playstation controller) only I would love more ozzy cars this time @ for GT5

unv412,

err... what assumption are you talking about? I'm assuming you're responding to another post seems i can't make sense of it replying to mine (you just don't quote a posters name you're replying to so i'm assuming its to mine being the last. though i'm a fan no one badge hence you're comment not making sense hence me asking :P).
