Firstly mate, I will need you to go to speedtest.net and conduct a speed test and PM me the results please, this is to ensure your connection is stable enough,
Yep, ok I'll do that now.

A1 RING DRIVERS BRIEF

a1_zpse8d47c9d.jpg

Pit entry, Its a really awkward entry and is the apex point of Jochen Rindt Bend, the apex speeds between pitting and not pitting are drastically different, please ensure you make it clear exiting the Gerhard Berger S that you are planning to pit by moving over the right hand side of the circuit if there is a car following you,

Run off areas, Castrol turn, Remus, Jochen Rindt and Mobilkom all have run off areas, if you find yourself in these areas please return to the circuit before the ripple strip meets the grass with care,

This is going to be an interesting race,

Was going to set up a practice room tonight for anyone to join but i woke up feeling sick, so it probably isnt the best idea spending a few hours racing around! Good luck to everyone in the next few rounds, look forward to racing you all again in September :)

Well I probably won't be racing you in this series but most likely in your series so I'll have to wait until then to get on the track with you. See you in September!

also mate, I need the PSN fr from you, my account is TDZ-4-12-14-88 and also add GREASY07 as he is our back up host if we have any connection issues

Question what's the average lap time around the ring? I've been lapping at 1.30 -1.31 will that keep me with the pack probably not the fast guys but maybe near the back lol

I have been having the same problem as @Cobra_GT500, but ended up narrowing down to the car. The SLS struggles quite badly which led to me changing car and giving the Z06 a try and instantly I went into the low 1.27's
So, in saying that, @TDZdave would it be possible that I can change my selection of car from the SLS to the Corvette Z06

Also, myself and @Greasy07 have been doing testing and I can say that Remus, Niki Lauda and Gerhard Berger corners are the most important corners and stuffing them up costs you quite dearly.

You should be able to manage it Nosoks, I got a 1:27.2 when practicing with greasy, and I consider you to be about level with me :)

Just keep practising, if it wasn't for Greasy continually pushing me I wouldn't be in the 1.27's, so just keep that in mind and if it helps, turn driving line on till you get familar with the braking points and that.

@NW28 yes you can switch cars,

@nosoks do the best you can mate, Ive been looking at all the cars since the last update and I think I might need to adjust some MR cars specifications, as the Audi R8 suffered drastically around the nurburgring compared to the other cars for no real reason,

Hopefully we go close to a full grid so I can use this round as research and development to square up the balance a little,

i'm running consistent mid 28s for now but haven't got a long run in yet. My car is handling fine i think, just got a slow old driver hahaha

Hey there :)
I just wondered if it's OK to put my name down as a potential reserve driver in this series, despite it being roughly the midway point... I tend to work late shifts so am usually available during the daytime.

aboe / aboe_83 / Corvette Z06

Australia GT Series Round 6
Nurburgring 24h

So here we are today in the west of Germany at the notorious Nurburgring for round 6 of the Australia GT series and with qualifying out of the way Lion takes top spot in front of Dave and with Greasy taking place at the back of grid as the drivers get away Lion gets brilliant start with Dave hot on his tail as It'z put pressure on newcomer Keg in his Mazda RX8
Nürburgring 24h 1.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 2.jpg

Nürburgring 24h 3.jpg

As It'z get by Keg into NGK chicane an setting his sights on the drivers in front Keg now was dealing with the pressure from Greasy an Dave was doing the same to Lion as Flash was staying with them
Nürburgring 24h 4.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 5.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 6.jpg

As Greasy gets by Keg into Adenauer frost Lion gets a back wheel on the grass an lost control of he's Merc at Ex-muhle letting Dave to get by only to lose it at the next corner now putting Flash up into the top position and free to run at his own pace now
Nürburgring 24h 7.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 8.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 9.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 10.jpg

As Greasy was hunted down by the quick recovery AMG of Dave's It'z was losing time to Flash as the two drivers behind was taking time out of him an soon will up to the back of him making for some close racing to come
as Lion dive into pit for some desperate repairs after his earlier incident as Keg does the same
Nürburgring 24h 11.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 12.jpg

Nürburgring 24h 13.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 14.jpg

Now with It'z Greasy an Dave all over each others rear bumper now going nose to tail through the carousel as each driver gave plenty of room and respect to each other making for some epic racing as all three close the gap to Flash (just sit back and enjoy the pic)
Nürburgring 24h 15.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 16.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 17.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 18.jpg

As the high powered AMG of Dave's got by Greasy's BMW down the back straight It'z out brakes himself into second last corner letting Dave and Greasy by but Greasy deciding to dive into pit for a early pit stop trying not fight with anyone as It'z does the same to get some repairs taking care of on he's AMG
Nürburgring 24h 19.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 20.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 22.jpg

Sadly this was the last we saw of Keg an he's RX8 as gremlins of GT6 took their first victim but not their last
Nürburgring 24h 23.jpg

As Dave was dealing with his own gremlins running off at aremberg then again at adenauer frost deciding to park it up and call it a day as there was no way he could get he's wheel up and working again as It'z losers it letting Lion to get by him and putting him down to 4th
Nürburgring 24h 24.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 25.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 26.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 27.jpg

Then a couple of laps later the gremlins strike again an it was bye bye to It'z and his AMG leaving only three more drivers left to run the rest of the race
Nürburgring 24h 29.jpg

As Greasy gets by Flash as he jumps into the pits for some fresh tires and a bit of fuel he reveals that the BMW Z4 really does fly an then getting back he's first position as Greasy does the same the two laps later
Nürburgring 24h 30.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 31.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 32.jpg

As Lion was too far back to take the fight to the BMW's after his first lap incident Greasy was closing the gap to Flash and soon will be all over the back of him with fresh tires
Nürburgring 24h 33.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 34.jpg

Greasy was trying to get by Flash but he wasn't making it easy for Greasy for half a lap until Greasy push his BMW to the outside at the carousel getting by Flash and taking first place in a spectacular way even Flash must be a bit envy by the move as Flash was trying to get his position back he push it too hard at Brunnchen a letting Greasy just to take it easy from here on out
Nürburgring 24h 35.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 36.jpg

Nürburgring 24h 37.jpg

Nürburgring 24h 38.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 39.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 40.jpg

With both drivers pitting again Flash as closing the gap to Greasy until Flash got a rear wheel on to the grass an put it in the wall resulting in him coping to much damage to take the fight to Greasy anymore as Lion made his way past pushing Flash down to 3rd now with only one lap to run
Nürburgring 24h 41.jpg
Nürburgring 24h 42.jpg

As Greasy got the celebrations started early smoking it up as he goes over the line taking the win from Lion who was 50 second down the road and Flash coming in 3rd after gruelling and tough race
Nürburgring GP_D 55.jpg

Congratulate to Greasy on a brilliant race an getting one back on those Kiwi's from last place on the grid
Ones again well done to Greasy for having the fastest time of the day at a time of 8:07.279
Good work to all the drivers for a fun and intense race
Hopefully we will see you all at the next round of the AGT at Spielberg Austria on the 23/7
Make sure you drink plenty of Red Bull beforehand

I just ran the Audi at the Red Bull Ring with a bit of a setup (not in the way I would like) but I still done a 1:27.468 and 10kph fastest then the BMW Z4 if any MR car needs working on I would have to say the Ford GT as I ran it with Nos and my best was only a 1:28:412 an I don't see ever get into the low 27s but you must remember difference drivers drive differently where one car they would be slow in an the next they can put some decent lap time down take Ninth for a example in the SLS he could only manage in the high 28s me High 26s Lion mid 26s but put Ninth in the Z06 straight up he got a low 27s an now he's in the high 26s as you also got to remember difference cars will have difference advantages at difference tracks like at Monza your Audi had it all over my an Flash's BMWs remember

I still believe the Audi is a good car you just need the time to work it out just like Flash an the BMW who got it back to what he likes if not better after the last update

P.S sorry for all the remembers and differences I was just in the zone

Yes I remember Monza, Though I had worked on that car for quite some time leading to the race and ran minimal df, 250/450 iirc,

but now with update 1.09 it seems both the audi's have been changed, the yellow seems ok, but the silver one seems to fail in the corners now. Same with the Lamborghini and NSX, nothing has changed on those cars but the physic behind it is different, I think the silver Audi can now go on a crash diet and lose a fair bit of that bhp,

but as you say each car has its strengths and weaknesses across the board but I would like to tighten up those gaps a little more ,

As Greasy stats, yes I think the Ford GT needs a BOP adjustment. Either in the form of a weight reduction or a slight increase in HP. Another car I feel needs a BOP adjustment is the Z06. Its stupid fast and without even touching the tune I've done mid/ high 26s. I know we cant add anymore weight so maybe a slight reduction in power is needed. I cant comment on the Audi Dave is driving but the Team Phoenix car seems fine. I did some more laps yesterday morning and got a high 26. I've completely started fresh on all my tunes as I just find they no longer allow me to drive the car the way I like to drive them. Some are now better than I've ever had them. Taking some time but I'm getting there.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks @TDZdave, I ended up getting into the 1.26's last night but had an average time of 1.27.2 so hopefully I can repeat that in the race. Awesome race report @Greasy07! Love the three-wide Carousel pic! 👍

The Z06 comes with a price though, crazy fuel consumption and tyre wear is catastrophic so the time you spend in the pits is equal to the time you might make up on track. 10 laps, I had half a tank and midly worn tires (5 bars), but it comes down to how you drive the car. That's my view anyway.

well..... with some practice, tweaking and a little advice from greasy I made it to :lol:the 27s......... next goal 2 in a row

Ok so race day tomorrow, who's coming??

@NW48 have you read and do you understand the start procedure? Lets all try our best not to have another pre-start incident... Cant afford to have @nosoks rage quit on us again :D

Also @TDZdave I take it will will be doing a full warm up lap?

Yeah I understand the starting procedures, not exactly rocket science for me ;) Can't wait to race with you all tomorrow!
