Ah, lovely. He's going to become what the British people (such as you, Jason) call a "chav". Just great, because I already have a disdain for Corsa Bs (see far too many of them, especially on the street where I live). :indiff:

You, on the other hand, at least have some decency to not ruin your own dream car...

Oh, I remember those. I have a scale model of one (it's a version used by a local beer company), and I really like it. These old Citroen vans may be slow as snails, but they are just so unique and full of character. And quirky, to boot.

On the topic of guilty pleasures, another Japanese one:

The Toyota Paseo. Yes, it is a coupe that betrays its class (95 hp is hardly my idea of a sporty coupe, but apparently Toyota didn't notice), but I just would love to own one. Maybe it's because the car would actually be affordable somewhat, unlike certain other coupes... And don't worry, if I do get one, I won't "chav" it to oblivion.

There's something about the curves of that back end that is exceptionally alluring in a way I simply cannot articulate.

Yeah, it looks suprisingly smooth and consistent for something so simple. It really is hard to explain, I can see your problem. It's an interesting car, design-wise...

No they think it is the second best, behind the Nissan GT-R

Do they think that the GT-R needs huge spoilers and "sick" decals to be awesome, and that stock-looking GT-Rs are terrible?

Kinda

I wouldn't want to talk to them about cars if they think so highly of the GTR. In my eyes, it's one of the most overrated cars out there, and I'm beyond sick of the insane fanboy hype that seems to run rampant with that car in particular. There are tons of cars I'd put above the R35, and most of the previous Rs are included above it.

Anyway- I really don't have a clue why I like the Chevrolet Chevette. These things are historically god awful, but I dig them.

They don't like it.

Thank god my friends in Uni actually know a bit about cars. I can confirm that, because of an episode that once happened when I was looking at pictures of the Fiat 130 Coupe, on a school computer. A girl who is on my class passed by, and said to me:

"That's a very nice-looking car." I can defintely respect a girl who knows classic cars...

But let's not get side-tracked too much, shall we?

I knew I would get flamed with that comment, but there wasn't a nice way to put it. There are only a very few cars I would classify girly and a 500 in light blue convertible is one of them...

I love these things. So quircky and thought out. They are cheap and I think they look quite good.

Hey, the Sado! I never thought that a fellow Portguese GTP member would actually mention it on a thread. I do like a lot myself, it's a very interesting car in many ways. It packs a Daihatsu engine, mainly because most Portuguese bike engines lacked the horsepower to move it properly. It's perhaps one of the best attempts at making a Portuguese car in our history.

The rest of the list is pretty good as well. I adore the Cactus (one of the most unique cars for sale today, that is also pretty sensible), the SL is a bulletproof German tank, and the 75 is your classic 1980's Alfa Romeo. I know this is cliché, but I'd have mine with that beautiful V6 engine...

Not a W, but an R129 :)

There are many synonyms for using homosexual as a derogatory term.

As for flaming... how was 2 emoticons "flaming" you...?

I really like this generation of the Regal.

Odd as it may be, the design is basic and yet it still has an aura of distinction about it. Something you would claim to drive...and that's just the base car. Regal T? Grand National? Yes please. Monte Carlos of similar design, just a bit bigger, do the same for me.

Lets see... I've done the Cougar, the Magnum, my truck, the Eagle...I'm tempted to post an Aztek, but I always thought it was OK, not a guilty pleasure.

Dammit, I'm gonna have to pick stuff from games and movies.....OK:
Delorean. You all know reason one, I've seen an original DMC-12 in person though. It didn't run, but I got a good look-through of it.

Modified Suburban. Why? Not a single clue, just do.

Corvette Stingray (C3). Love the shape, looks fast sitting still, don't care if it was smogged to death.

After driving a diesel C33, I've always sort of liked the diesel Nissan Laurels...

I wonder how suited the diesel would be for drifting... Buy a cheap one in Japan for a quick drift thrash. :D

And I quite like the C35, also. They really take a drop and a nice set of wheels really nicely, which I can attest after seeing one with that recipe in person. Standard is also pretty nice:

But of course, you can always go a bit crazy... :)

And I've just now found out IMPUL made there own version. Time to do some research. :D

These things are everywhere here, many of them being first cars. A quick look on Trade Me finds that there's only one of them for sale at the moment though, weirdly.

With you on that one. They're cheap, and they're a bit of a blank canvas as far as design goes. Nothing special, but I bet they'd look great with a few simple tweaks. Wheels, suspension, a few choice interior bits and pieces etc.

Dead right. This particular one seems to have a build thread of sorts, even.

And I think why I couldn't find many - the majority of them were Japanese imports, either that or were sold in NZ as the Toyota Cynos. Searching that up gives about two pages of listings.

Anyway, another guilty pleasure. Toyota Corolla II.
