hey. ok firstly, never posted on here, just registered as im having trouble with this particular race and have no idea how to win it. let me just say im not a massive car nut, so i have no real knowledge of the ins and outs, however i have tried adjusting the settings given on here. i have the toyota 7 and its fully tuned.

ok heres the main problem, every time the race starts, im last by the first corner, as the car is incredibly slow off the mark. i have no ide why, as the other cars manage just fine. now i may not be a car nut but i know when one is slow to accelerate, and this car is, for me at least. so, why does my toyota start off slowly, and always drives to the outside right as every car passes him by? this is really frustrating. i havnt done wither of the two races as the car is super slow for me and i have no idea why.

Whatever you do dont buy the Ferrari 330 P4. I was towing with this event too, so I went and splashed 20mil on it. Same result. Crashes every lap but slower car. Best Place 6th.

On the plus side I got a trophy "Pennyless"....LOL

In the end I did it with the Toyota 7 also. No Tuning or cooling Bob before the Chicane just tried over and over untill the gods were in my favour.

1) It is much easier in A-Spec.

2) It's not difficult in B-Spec if you a) have the right car (2J or T7), and/or b) the good cars get bad starting positions.

Strongly agree 2J don't have one borrow it I'm sure by now he knows he has 500+ pages tell him this so this was pointless

The best car to have on this race is the Toyota 7 Race car '70 with the 3rd stage turbo the first race. Looks like the chaparral 2J Race Car '70 is the best for the second.

Oh, nice ! Now let me go back to november 2010 and complete the race.

Sigh.

Where do these new players/members come from ? GTPlanet was fine, like 4-5 months ago, now it's flooded with rookies. No problem at all with the new blood, but geez, the forums have been a mess lately, especially with those wanting to borrow game saves.

Interesting..tell me about it :rolleyes:

No, it is not a question. I actually found a website that tells you how someone else how they set up their car.

So why are you posting something that has already been posted tons of times before? It's even in the FAQ although the B-spec link does not seem to work anymore.

The best my driver could do was 2nd. The Chapparral 2J is too fast out of the turns.

I want one so bad but GT5cars said it'll take 2,200 game days for one to cycle around :(

I have the Chaparral 2J up online for the borrowing;;;

Add >>>----> djrebel236

The best transmission top speed setting (Toyota Race Car '70) I've found for Cote D'Azur is 185mph. Usually, the Toyota 7 has no need to hit a higher speed on the longest straight with this setting. This allows the car to accelerate the fastest without red-lining. The LSD will need tweaking based on your B-Spec driver's abilities and personality. My driver is a mid-ranged Cool personality with mid level experience. He can out corner the Chapparal 2J and accelerate past him with this setting. I use these LSD settings 15/40/27. Also, purchase the 3rd stage Turbo kit. I believe this puts the car around 700PP for the race.

I've struggled all morning in this race but finally have found a gd setting for the Toyota 7 and destroying opponents. Firstly max out the Toyota 7. Then go to the settings menu for the car and adjust to these settings
Front downforce 42
Rear downforce 65
Maz speed 199

Fully kitted Jag, set gears to 220km/h and got lucky in the chicane with the 2J jamming it into the wall, took lead on lap 2 and won by 30 seconds... :)

I can't believe so many people have had problems with event at Monaco. Especially since I'm usually the one struggling and asking for help lol.

Anyways, I used a Toyota 7 with Praiano's tune and won the race by 6 seconds on my first try with a level 22 driver. The key is telling Bob to slow down at the chicane of course. Everything else should be easy.

TO whoever said put 500kg of weight at the rear of the car, I would like to take you out for dinner. After 2 broken controllers and endless screaming yelling cursing and throwing ****, THIS finally worked, along with a 25/50/20 lsd, big turbo. Thanks!

In B spec the Toyota 7 is a very good car to use. I gave it an oil change and fitted the racing mediums to the car for the championship. My Level 22 Bob won at deep forest very easily by about 6 seconds ahead of 2 other Toyotas! The 2J only managed 4th.

At Monaco, it was a different story however. The 7 is indeed very slow off the line and it's normal to exit turn 1 in 10th place. Bob eventually got back up to 2nd place by the end but it took about 4 attempts to get the gold. The Toyota isn't very well suited to the track as it's got far too much power to get into the tarmac. I experimented by going to the Jaguar but it's just not quick enough for Bob to battle to the front. This race is definitely one of the hardest in the game and it needs luck for a victory. If the 2J starts in the first 2 rows then forget it, as it just disappears into the distance and it's almost impossible to overtake it thanks to it's great traction out of slow corners.

You also need to keep Bob cool at the Chicane after the tunnel and again just before the pit straight, as he tends to crash if pushing too hard (which he will be if you intend to catch the Chapparal). If the 2J starts behind you then this is a godsend because it will struggle to get through the pack. This is also good because the 2J often crashes into the barrier at the last corner if stressed. At the time i finally got gold, the 2J crashed into that barrier twice in only 8 laps! It's a very good fun race to watch from your sofa as it's nice to see that the other cars CAN actually crash sometimes.

This race is really bothering me. I got the first one with the jag I won but the second track is hard. I tried my Toyota 7, Ferrari, Jag, and even my Ford GTs. Nothing at all is working. Anyone have any good tunes or cars they used? Thanks

I believe the best car for this event was the 2J, fully tuned. Send me an FR and I'll put it on share for you.
