A very kind person on GTPlanet let me add them and borrow their cars. I've got the choice of the Ferrari, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, the Chapparel 2D and the Toyota 7. I've used many tunes but none of them seem to work. I'll try the tips offered in this thread.
Thanks everyone!

I ended up borrowing a friends ferrari, installing tires and a turbo and beat the thing pretty easily.

The Toyota never worked for me because there was no traction out of corners and the chicane messed me up. I actually did much better with a fully tuned challenger RM.

I beat the valley race with a Toyota, but tried the Cote one and that damn 2J had a 20 second lead by lap 2. Besides buying a 2J (or using a ticket), idk what to do.

BTW this was in A-spec, sorry I haven't done the B-spec yet, my driver is class 25 but a total dimwit

:D
I beat it with one of those Ferrari's. No management needed. Finished the expert series; now to extreme!
Oh, wait... I'm stuck on the NASCAR event now... I think. :P

All you need for NASCARs is a good setup and management. I got 1st on the first three, third at Laguna and fourth at Daytona and still won the championship, though in some cases it'll come down to where the AI finishes :indiff:

I used a Mark IV GT. You have to manage Bob's pace and get him into second place by the third lap. The key areas to pace down is at the chicane, the switch back corner on the home straight. Bob will run into them if you don't pace them down. Once ahead of the Chaparral just hot it up for a few stretches then maintain pace for the rest of the race.

What is the best car for the Cote D'Azur race in the Historic car race for spec B? I have the Toyota 7 from the Like the Wind event and that did very well for the first event but the best I have done with it was second at Cote D'Azur and that was lucky.

If you can, bspec win indy500, it is easier than "like the wind" and wins you gt40, which is better in corners than toyota7. You can also fully tune Lamborghini ****ach lp400. Full downforce on both, tune tranny to 160!

^Sorry but you're wrong

One of my friends was having trouble beating it so I gave him my Toyota 7 which won and he can't complete it.

Just signed up to this forum! I beat this race with the 2J, with a setup posted a couple of pages ago. Anyway, set the tranny to 155, with race medium tires, and I believe any other mods. While your racing with the other 2J (most likely), hit pace down before the hairpin turn, so you won't smack the wall. And overtake him on ANY straight, once your in the lead just sit and watch your driver pull away! (I won by 23 seconds!) Thank goodness I finished this!

i used a toyota 7, stage 3 turbo, tranny to 240 mph, full downforce, and racing medium tires. my level 24 bob had a naturally hot personality, and i watched him carefully, never letting his mood get into the bright red. won with a .002 second margin!

i won a-spec with a shelby cobra wearing racing softs and every other mod

This strategy won it for me with the XJ13. Lowered the transmission into the 180's mpgs and beat 2J by 11 seconds.

There a couple of things to do to win this. At the Cote you must be careful not to pace up at two places: Just before the start finish line and at the jog on the long straight after the tunnel. If you pass anyone here you take a chance of bumping the guard rail and then your Bob will just wait for everyone to pass. The next is to pace down after you do the long uphill climb. The tight turns after this will spin you from time to time. The last and most important is the setting on you lsd. 25/50/20.

Sorry about posting to an old thread but I just gotta say I was ready to strangle my Bob with Toyota 7's brake cables when I tried to win this race. Really frustrating, and Bob keeps crashing into the wall at the corner after the tunnel. And when he doesn't do that he mashes the accelerator down at a middle of a corner and spins out or skids to a wall. I'm definitely gonna try these methods before I destroy my PS3 haha.

*Edit: Oh yeah Bob won it by 8 secs with just the 50kg ballast! Woohoo. Thanks for the tips guys.

my bob still drives in this event like he noever drove before, its really frustrating watching him hit that first corner after the tunnel everytime, or the AI hits it and crashes then my guy hits them.

Yup a good setup with max weight in the back wins hands down. mine won by 30 secs with my car set up well. there is a good setup guide in the tunning section!

whats the best car to do it ?

I already won the Deep Florest race with Toyota 7 race car.

could any one help me to win the cote d'azur race ?

i already tried :

Ford Mark IV
Jaguar XJ113
Ferrari 330 P4

A Toyota 7 Race Car or a Chapperal 2J is your best bet.
There's a thread about this in the B-spec subforum.

2J is in OCD.

Hey guys I'm having problems winning the race on Cote D'azur. My toyota 7 has the speed easy, but ALWAYS hits the corner at the bottom of the hill after the tunnel. He'll take the outside line and then run straight into the corner on the next left. Any suggestions?

Right this is the set ups for Monaco for the Toyota 7, again my lvl 21 bob breezed this.

Buy and install Racing Mediums and Lvl 2 Turbo upgrade...not sure how he'll do without the turbo.

Full Downforce

Transmission set to 162mph max

LSD 30/55/30

Suspension

Camber F 1, R 1.5
Toe F -.1, R -.05 (- is a minus)

Height F -22, R -23
Spring F 17.5, R 18
Damper Extension F 7, R 8
Damper Compression F 8, R 8
Anti-Roll F 7, R 7

Brakes F 8, R 8.

Bob, does need to be pushed hard on the first couple of laps. You should be ok once you get the lead. Dont give up if you have a crash. I've just won it again after 2 crashes, 1 at the chicane and 1 at the turn before the S/F straight.

Make sure to overtake the minute you hit the S/F straight, he can and will overtake all the way up to Casino hairpin.

Ease off at the chicane after the tunnel and try to time it for the last corner of the lap before the S/F straight IF he's sitting behind another car.

thanks man it this did me wonders lol:tup:

You sir are are a god damn genius!! This has gotta be the answer to 99% of this. For the last 4 hours I've struggling with this ready to hit the roof. Slapped on some RACE MEDIUMS and what do you know, 1st by lap 2 overtaking before the chicane. Left BOB to relax for the rest of the race while I made a sandwich and amlost had time to rub one out!!!

Cheers dude made my morning

Yep, that's what I did, my Bob Mr Hopper kept crashing the Toyota7 at the chicane, but he loves the XJ13 (you win this gorgeous beast for A-spec Indy500, just checkout the start noise and the incar views!) and can outpace the 2J but he always tried overtaking at the final corner and hitting the wall. So, by cooling him off after the swimming pool and winding him up again on the pit "straight" he didn't crash and won by over 10 secs. Also helped that the 2J span-out at the chicane and couldn't get back past the Toyota7 in second! I now have the Alfa TZ2 to enjoy!
