I'm done trying with the Toyota 7. It does not work. I want video proof of someone beating Cote B-Spec with this car.

...Easier said than done... the only time my driver is that cool is when hes right at the back of the field miles from any other cars or miles ahead of the field.

Of course, that's why I said in the beginning he'll be hot, but just maintain him and he'll win. Too cool will never overtake unless obvious openings, and too hot will overtake but not too accurate. If you have a closer mid to cool guy that should work out. It did for me anyways, but everybody's done it differently.

Just use the car setup that has been posted earlier in this thread. Take a driver who's character is more into the red (hot) zone and tell him to speed up and overtake all the way (except for the tunnel, tell him to ease there, otherwise he'll crash into the barrier on the inside of the chicane, don't let him overtake there). Only do the race, as said before by many others if the 2J is not starting in the top 4 and then you'll be fine.:) My b-spec driver just did it (he crashed twice during the race in the chicane after the tunnel), won it while on level 14, while my lv 21 driver could never finish better than 4th.:) The 2J crashed too often to play a role and my driver overtook the leading Ferrari in lap 7 I think. Then he gained a lot of time, let him cool down and he won, only by a small margin since the other caught up again but that's okay, hehe...:dopey:

It's possible with the Toyota 7 Race Car.

I managed to do this in a fully tuned Toyota 7 (don't know if the extra tuning was needed).
It wasn't easy and I needed to shout my Bob to the finish (at least tell him to overtake at the right moments etc.).
It took some luck too.

I started a thread on this and the tips helped.

My Bob wasn't going to do it all by himself, he really needed coaching.

I'm trying to win this B-Spec race, the Historical Racing Car Cup on Expert, with a NON-multi-million dollar car. That means I don't want to use any of the crazy expensive cars like the Toyota 7, either of the Chaparrals, the Jaguar XJ13, or the Ferrari 330, none of those or the like. I want to beat this using a more regular (and less expensive) car.

I've tried using several different cars, like: the '70 Dodge Challenger R/T (race-modified), the '71 Plymouth Cuda 440, the '70 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454, the '74 Lamborghini Countach LP400 (car I successfully won it on a-spec with), even a '66 AC Cars 427 S/C. All of these cars have been upgraded to their maximum, I'm using racing medium tires, and I've tuned the cars to the best of my ability. I'm also performing an oil change prior to each race.

The closest I've managed is second place, and that was using the Challenger. We lost to the Toyota 7, of course. The Challenger is the only one that can hold its own; the other cars just can't get it done. The Cuda and the Chevelle are just too darn big and heavy, the AC Cars 427 comes close, but still the Challenger is the closest to winning. We CAN actually manage to pass the Toyota 7 with the Challenger and sit in first place, but only temporarily; once we hit the long final straightaway, that Toyota 7 passes us in the blink of an eye. I believe I remember reading that somebody else actually managed a win using the Challenger. yes/no?

I'd be interested in hearing some advice on perhaps other cars to try, or tuning specs on some suggested cars, etc. But as I said, I'd really like to finish first on this b-spec race in a NON-multi-million dollar car; not so much for money reasons, but just because I want to be unconventional. Ideas? Thanks in advance! :)

My Toyota 7 is fully moded with RM tires and tuned like you guys suggested but I cant finish higher than 9th even with no Chapparals starting. What kind of AI commands do you have to give?

Wow, I didn't think people would have so many problems winning with a Toyota 7 in B-Spec!

The first race was very easy...and the second one was tough initially, even with a fully upgraded car...but I reduced the maximum speed, increased downforce and told Bob to cool off when he got to the one corner he kept getting stuck at, and he won it fairly easily, overtaking the leading 2J several laps before the end.

He was level 21 or 22 when doing it.

Finally succeded in doing this Montecarlo race after ten times! Try to slow down yout Bob in the tunnel and before the last corner, the best point to overtake is the straight between second and third corner!

Finally won it, whew. :)

Since it may help the next poor fellow, here's my experience with the Toyota 7.

Deep Forest - won this one easily with the stage 3 turbo. Margin of victory was 25+ seconds. Didn't have to issue more than a few commands to my level 20 Bob.

Cote - the pain in the butt. The first three attempts on this I got 2nd place without too much trouble, so I thought "what's the big deal" lol. Kept Bob cool before the chicane and the last corner, and push him in other areas. Then I failed miserably the next eight times.

I ended up using a hodge podge of the tunes suggested on here ... so my recommendation is to try a few out. What works best for someone else's Bob may not work so well for yours.

I did end up winning this race with some luck. Level 20 Bob, only (1) 2J which started 4th, and luckily for me crashed 3 times. I used the mid level turbo, and fastest lap was around 141.xx. (Which is complete crap - with the high level turbo, I ran 138.xx laps in my first couple attempts but couldn't win - what the heck PD ... sigh).

Anyways - good luck!!!

I'm with you, I tried 20 times and never came close with a Lvl 25 BOB and many different tuning setups from the boards.

I gave up on the Toyota and traded for a Chaparal 2J and won easily the first try.

I was ready to give up on Cote. My cool level 20 bob was useless, and just let everyone pass at all the corners, while trying to stick to the driving line. I must've got lucky on one restart: I ended up in 5th or so after the first corner, and by the tunnel, the 2J was actually behind me. It took another 3 laps to pass the rest, but bob managed to win by 10s. He did bend the nose of the Toyota 7 rather nicely, though. The 7 was stock (i.e. fully upgraded), and all I added was an oil change, body rigidity, racing medium tires, and then changed the rear toe angle to 0. You're best bet is to try and get the 2J behind you, while the rest of the field spreads out in front of you, so that a) you don't crash trying to go two wide into a hairpin, and b) you can pass without being blocked by two cars at once.

So it's possible, yet frustrating, to win with the Toyota 7. I wish bob would listen to his commands, and overtake when told to do so (for example, around the outside of a corner, when a much slower car has the inside).

I just tried Côte d'Azur last night in the Toyota 7 to no avail.

The multiple car pileups at the Nouvelle chicane certainly didn't help any but it was amusing (albeit frustrating) to watch.

I thought the Côte d'Azur was going to be the tough one in B-Spec, but Deep Forest gave me the most challenge.
After several attempts finally won, but also picked up the trophy for ""Within One Hundredth" winning less than .01 of a second.

Car: Toyota 7 Race Car '70

Aerodynamics: Front 60 Rear 85
Turbo Kits: High RPM Range Turbo Kit
Transmission: 260kmh Top speed
Suspension:
1.Height: -30mm Front and Rear
2.Dampers (Extension): 10 Front and Rear
3.Dampers (Compression): 9 Front and Rear
Wheel Alignment: Camper Angle: 1.5 Front and Rear

That's the setup I used to win and anything not mentioned was left default or unchanged.

this gaurantees a winner. I got it from the historic racing guide

I won with this same exact setup. After about 20 times, this is the set up that got me 1st by 01.339.
Level 27 driver.
Thank you for posting this.

Followed the set up with the Toyota 7 and a "hot head" and failed miserably 3 or 4 times. Then went with my level 19 Bob who is a completely "cool" (almost to the far left) driver and made my way slowly to the front and used "pace down" quite a bit a won by 7.2 seconds. So a "cool dude" worked best for me. Thanks for all the tips.

In the B-Spec Historic Racing Cup, Monaco, my Bob keeps on crashing into the inside wall at the chicane out of the tunnel.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I also see this happening to other AI.
Is there any way to make Bob stop doing this?
Pace Down doesn't help.
Or maybe I need a better car setup for the fully tuned Toyota 7 Race Car?

Monaco was real pain to gold in B Spec. Keep him cool and don't let him overtake from the last corner before the tunnel. Start pushing again as soon as you pass that annoying corner.

I was really struggling with this race using the Toyota 7, never finished higher than 5th so switched to the Ford Mk4 and won it fairly easily. My Bob was all over the back of the leading 2J from lap 2 and forced him into a mistake and ended up winning by 11 seconds!

If he is a decent level and the hot//cool meter is less than 80% he shouldnt crash. That race is a real bitch though, if you want a 2J which is a guarunteed win, PM me.

Beautiful, thanks for that, will use it after Bob finishes this NASCAR championship.

Another thing, hope the Chaparral 2J car crashes in the race if it is in front of you, it makes things much easier. I tried to do this event first with the XJ13 race car, it could overtake every car apart from the 2J with ease due to good traction, however when I switched to the Toyota the 2J kept on crashing on chicanes. Maybe due to the quicker acceleration of the Toyota on higher speeds although it had poor traction.

My driver got stuck behind a 2D from lap 3, lost by 0.3 seconds.
Useless thing.

It's easy, do other B-spec races then come back later with the Toyota 7 (prize car) and at level 20 or higher.
You just have to change gear ratios.
I had the "cool meter" at 100% during the whole race and he didn't even crash

He's level 22 with a fully tuned Toyota 7 race car...

Mine does to, he simply can't win the race (Silver is the best he has managed after 10 attempts). Decided to level him up a fair bit more then go back and gold it. Erks me as I won the damn thing in a tuned Countash with 0 aids :(.
