Why is it when I attempt to drag drivers the Widget crashes? and I have many friends with shared drivers but there is only seven drivers in every race? :/

Simple reasons
Windows can crash applications when it likes
Yahoo Widget OS can crash widgets when it likes
The code the widgets been coded with can crash when ever it likes.

These were the reasons behind moving to another system.

Cant get it past reserving drivers, it worked for 3 races after install.

Ive tried changing server, rebooting the computer, resetting Yahoo Widgets, opening and closing the widget, forcing re-authentication of the widget randomly over the last 24 hours.

It just hangs on reserving drivers. races start fine from the GT website as i checked!

I really want this to work, but i cant get it too

Is there any way to fix the widget to give your drivers the best cars??? eg Audi R8 in touring car race.

Other wise you can grind away for hours with your drivers in the crap cars ( which they seem to be put in when you run the races yourself) and therefore dont get much money or EXP

No, remote racing is totally random anyway, but if your Bobs are higher level than others, run the NASCAR events because the cars are all equal.

Are your drivers set to run online? If so at least one of them needs to be free to start the race. If your friends are using all your bobs you can't start a race. If that is the case they need to leave at least one of your drivers free.

I'm no expert so hopefully someone else will jump in to help. Another thing you can do is try reinstalling.

Thanks but i had 4 available drivers online!. But no luck. It appears it decides on its driver (1/4 drivers in use is displayed) - But it never actually uses them

Try clearing GT5's cache from GT5's option menu. It looks like a little gear. Once in the option menu it can be found at the bottom on the left.

This also may work.

I get that a lot and I've found out that, if I put the PS3 in server, then click remote race on gran-turismo.com, start a race from it (on the website) then start the grinder, it works. It use to be easier, now, I need to be crafty.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
This Widget, to put it simply, emulates a web browser. Using HTTPS, it first authenticates with store.playstation.com to authenticate your credentials. Then, just like a browser, it stores the logged in session and starts making requests to the JSON APIs on gran-turismo.com. It requests your profile information and the status of your PS3, then tries to automatically launch a race if it's online and ready to go, trying to fill all 16 driver slots with random drivers from your friends list. Then, it monitors the status of the race using the Remote Race JSON API, updating the display appropriately, and when the race is over, it repeats. Simple as that.

........ You need " Friends " not real life friends just PSN friends on your profile...

been a long time GT fan. i have played every version 1-5 and have loved every minute playing. however i am pretty new to online anything as far as console games go. i joined this forum to hopefully expand my knowledge and enjoy some playability otherwise unknown to me. i tried to load this grinder program and all i get is a zip file that when unzipped has no file extension or appropriate program to open it with. how do i go about getting this loaded on my pc? i'm kinda lost, i'm normally half way decent at figuring this stuff out but this one escapes me. please help.


oh and anyone that would like to add me to race my drivers and have yours raced add me as a friend with a note about gt5.

You have to Download and run the Yahoo widget OS install Execute first.

Then you run the widget OS application for the widgets it installed.

once that is running you UNZIP.....

well i got a question...I've running it since a couple months and no problem at all with it...my only question is....everytime im running it and someone adds me to their Friends List or i add someone i need to shutdown my PS3 and turn of the yahoo widget so the "Manage Drivers" option get updated with the new friends...but sometimes i need to shutdown my PS3 not only once but two and three times so it got updated...my question is...how exactly the widget get updated with the new friends?! do i need to turn PS3 off a bit of time and then run again or do i just missing something?

I believe all you need to do is right click it,then click force reauthencation. That should do it.

Finally got back to this game after over half a year due to getting a much needed HDD upgrade for my PS3. I already had everything in place and my grinder is working perfectly.

Could you help me get to the debug window? I tried the instructions that were somewhere around page 150 but it didn't work.

Is my grinder broken? All done grinding?

I have used it before, but it has never lasted all night I chalked that up to my PC going to sleep or perhaps another Internet connection drop/minor issue. It did work at one point, that's the key here, until now.

But now, my grinder is stuck here

Nothing happens at this point. No races begin. No driver helmets "fill in" I am unable to access the "manage drivers" options, as those words/characters are "grayed" out and cannot be clicked. My PSN and password have not changed.

Color me confused...

I have deleted the widget, and reinstalled it. I am of course setting my GT5/PS3 up propely, as I have used the grinder a few times before.
