If you guys have trouble starting a race with the widget, quit the widget and run one 5 min race from gt.com. After it's done, try restarting the widget. This always seems to work for me, and the races start like they should.

That explains it. I left my widget running this AM and went to work. I checked in on it around noon to see that it was running well. I checked on it again 30 minutes later and I had apparently confounded it. So I ran a race or two manually through the browser. I went off to a meeting and came back to see that the widget had righted itself and was running races again. Brilliant!

This is an awesome development, thanks for releasing it and the numerous updates.

I'm loving 0.9.2, even though it crashes every so often.
The 0.9.5 just didn't seem to be doing much besides being slow and possibly hanging (no errors in window), though it is a lot prettier.

Am I the only one with 0.9.5 sluggishness troubles? I know there's mention of it in the changelog, but this seems a bit more than that.

The us.gran-turismo.com site was having problems for me, from about 2112 GMT until about 2259 GMT. I let the widget run through that (it ran some races before 2112), and it was able to run races again since then. Looking good Yonis!

Been running 0.9.2 perfectly for 2.5 hours, first time its been over 2 hours for me in a while.

02/28/11 17:07:37.988: RAW STATUS: Ready.
02/28/11 17:09:13.025: Race has started.
02/28/11 17:33:44.916: Race has started.
02/28/11 17:59:28.728: Race has started.
02/28/11 18:25:08.985: Race has started.
02/28/11 18:49:42.010: Race has started.
02/28/11 19:11:39.803: Race has started.
02/28/11 19:37:32.609: Race has started.

Perfection!

Just updated to 9.5, hopefully same results.

Another quick update - I tried 0.9.5 for a bit... I didn't have much luck with it for some reason - it was throwing up a lot of errors on the status/log window (sorry I didn't make a note of it), so I've gone back to an earlier version for the time being. I know that I'll eventually get stuck on the 'selecting drivers' state, but I find it quite reliable that one error aside.

It's quite odd, at some times of the day it will work perfectly, at some times it won't.

Don't worry about the errors unless they're in red. The Widget is passing on information related to problems in the server. The red errors are critical.

How do you copy the error code it puts up? I tried high lighting it and right clicking to copy it, but that didn't work.

The error was something like "stuck in no mans land" and I let it try to resolve it's self but it just can back to the same error.

I've just been highlighting the text and pressing Ctrl-C. Dunno what to tell you if that doesn't work... The debug window isn't my code.
Yonis After waiting about 15 minutes It's stuck on selecting drivers. It doesn't seem to be resetting itself.
Version 0.9.4 and up have a safety net timer which deals with that scenario. Is it not saying anything about retrying in the debug window?

Another problem I am having is that now it is hosting races with like 2 people.
When I do it manually I see that I have many other peoples Bobs open.

Yes, it was Loading Drivers and I have been stuck there and in the selecting drivers multiple times since as well. Not necessarily with this error message however.
I've just fixed the JSON.parse problem in the Loading Drivers phase and the hang in Selecting Drivers. Trying to track down the Race Ended hang now.

Thanks to the great widget from Yonis I just did exactly that! I made lots of money as I slept, now I am off to collect it!

Thanks again Yonis!

Ran much better for me today while at work than the previous couple of versions. Actually ran until my wireless internet took a poop(I hate my provider), and pulled up 16 races in about 9hours.

👍👍👍
Great work on this program Yonis, and thanks again!

Now when you're done with this widget, think you can talk my provider into becoming a stable internet company?

Running 0.9.5 and just recieved this error:

TypeError: CONFIG.currentEvent has no properties (Race.js: Line 215)
on selecting drivers.

Widget restart needed, didn't help.

Reverted back to older version.

Hmmm... ran this overnight and have just woke to find that I have lost ALL of the money I earned with the tool in the last 9 hours or so. Further more, the tool had crashed - not responding - so I had t kill it. Quite frustrating.

Also, I've just loaded the new version and it is reporting my credits incorrectly compared to my actual credits on GT5 -approximately a +500,000 difference.

Also, I no longer have the error code/status window, is this correct for the new version?
Thanks

Make sure to check out the B-Spec Remote Race FAQ for details on this known bug in GT5.
Q: HELP! Why are my rewards sometimes missing, or my B-Spec drivers changing status by themselves?
A:
This is a bug: the autosave feature in remote race is not working properly at this time. Every time you interact with an online B-Spec driver (e.g. change status from online to offline or vice versa, collect rewards, etc.), you must save explicitly yourself! If you don’t save yourself, you may end up losing data (rewards, online status). So always save by hand!

Your PS3 likely didn't sync up with the Internet last time you earned credits either.

Version 1.0 is up. As it's not a beta, there's no debug window! The Widget should be catching all the server errors at this point so you shouldn't need the debug window anymore*.

There are a few new UI tweaks, see the Version History for the juicy details.

*If it's still getting stuck, you can re-enable Debug Mode by opening the gear menu in your task tray (Windows) or your menu bar (Mac) while holding down the Control and Shift keys; Debug Mode is at the bottom of the menu. Then close and reopen the Widget. Then you might be able to see what the problem is if it happens again.

Ok, I do remember reading something about this, gla I backed up ;)

Great, looks nice, many thanks.

Credits are still incorrect after a complete restart/login/logout, but hey ho :)

Thanks yonis, will try the new version out. Is there a way of getting the errors so we can provide feedback to you?
Read the below...
