I find that PSN signs me out once and a while.. really pisses me off when doing a Seasonal..I have to shut the system down 2-3 times before I can sign back in.. Anone else have that problem?

Fired up the app when I got home this evening to a much more stable connection that I was using in my apartment in college and it worked flawlessly for 3 hours even to the point I was needing to watch out for when it was between races so I could get out of server mode without wasting a race

Going cashing in the winnings now and buy and tune some cars before I set it off for racing tonight again :)

Brilliant idea Yonis!

For those of you who are having problems with this Widget, is your PS3 connected to the Internet via a weak Wi-Fi connection? That may very well explain the problems you're having...

My PS3 and computer are less than 3 feet away from an excellent signal...been monitoring my machine all morning from work...and somewhat of a pattern exists in load times between games..3-4 races load as usual, then server issues for 10-15 minutes....then 3-4 races load fine followed by another 10 -15 minute server issue... it's got to be ISP related IMO.....

This has happened to me, did it just this morning. I only had to shut the system down once though. Has happened to me a few times, but not just when using the widget, but always when using the GT site to run races.

v.1.1.3 has been solid for 2 hours ...but, it is not filling all 16 driver slots (10, 11, even just 6) and only appears to be choosing drivers from about 4 or 5 friends out of 11.

Might need more friends on your PSN list. In my current race I have 16 drivers from 11 different PSN accounts.

So you're saying 11 friends isn't enough for the widget to fill 16 driver slots? That's almost 60 drivers to choose from (not all have 6 drivers).

I have no idea. The widget does some unusual selections for me. Somehow I end up with full fields 100% of the time but the drivers selected are not really in any particular order. I guess when Yonis puts out the update to select more often from certain accounts I will understand the process better.

Well, I think I'm going to go back to manually starting races for now as people are being neglected.

One friend has raced my Bob's 40+ times today and I've not raced his at all, I have some compensating to do.

Nope, gigabit ethernet. I haven't had the problem you're describing with the website when the widget has had a problem.

What if some of your friends' bobs are already used by others? I mean, the friends you got on your friend list, these guys also have friends who can remote race and stuff...

Still, even by looking at the log you could determine who exactly is remote racing at any time. Its unlikely that all 11 friends are remote racing, so the fact that there isn't a full field raises an eyebrow.

Unlikely but possible... but yeah, I forgot you could look at the log.

Pretty weird stuff indeed. I never experienced that.

Yes, I see your point, but I have just manually started a race where there were more than enough Bob's available for a full 16 driver race - this was only 25 minutes after the last widget-run race. I doubt that's just coincidence.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you wish but I get the feeling that all of these recent issues are not accidental. I genuinely think Sony - or PD - are trying their best to make using the widget either very awkward or unproductive at best.

ps: sorry Blitz, you got the (disad)Vantage!

Speaking of the disadVantage, I ran a race today that had two of them and my driver won in the Citroen GT. I don't think either Vantage finished before the screen went blank.

My internet connection is perfectly fine (100/100mbit), PS3 connected with cable.
I can start races via gran-turismo.com at any time, the widget doesn't, it goes to selecting drivers and then temporary server issue. :(

The Temporary server issue clears itself up within 5 -15 minutes, and only comes up for me once every 3-4 races, so unless you're able to babysit your PS3 it's still good app.....

For you, maybe.
I left my widget running at approx.1am last night. My last widget race was at approx.2:30am and it never ran again all night.

Incidientally, the error was 'Temporary Server Issue'.

Hmmmm....just went back through the last couple of pages here....can't see rhyme nor reason for the interruptions...

I'm going on 24 hours now with the same short interruptions but still generating races, albeit field size ranges from 11-16 out of my 40 available Bobs....for the record I'm in US (Florida)......

Yep, it is frustrating to say the least. Both the Temp.Serv.Issue and the failure to choose a full race field are regular issues. I've checked my DNS logs and came up with soemthing unusual tonight though so have PM'd Yonis. Not saying it will help, but worth a try.
I'll try v.1.1.3 again shortly before heading to bed but if it fails again I'm gonna ask Yonis if it's possible to make the login changes he made to v.1.1.3 to v.0.9 also as that version works fine for me - but of course will probably no longer log into the Sony servers.
