I just want say thank you to yonis for coming up with this. I've been running 1.1.3 since last week (I started with 1.1.1 on the weekend before last) and the only issue I've encountered was this:

03/14/11 14:01:43.002: Server sent bad data. Retrying. (Attempt 1)
03/14/11 14:01:44.494: Server sent bad data. Retrying. (Attempt 2)
03/14/11 14:01:45.631: Server sent bad data. Retrying. (Attempt 3)
03/14/11 14:01:45.632: Could not successfully retrieve data! Will try reconnecting in 1 minute.

03/14/11 14:01:45.659: Resetting state. Waiting for 1 minute(s). Will reauthenticate.

I checked my PS3 and found that it had been signed out of PSN. This has only happened twice so I think it's either a PSN issue or my connection. I signed back in and it's been working perfectly since.

Hi peeps from Friday I am trying to enable the widget to start remote races but I keep having same error msg... Login Incorrect and that my credentials are incorrect while they are not....do you know if any kind of maintenance is taking place or what else could it be?

btw add me for more races my PSN is : menegsp

thank you.

Have you downloaded and tried the latest version: v.1.1.3 ? (which is available on the first page of this thread).

This version fixes the login authentication issue which arose when Sony recently updated their web site.

yeaps i have downloaded the latest version the 1.1.3 and my credentials are double checked that they are correct and still nothing...:(

The gran-turismo.com site seems to be having problems at the moment and the widget is hiccuping on certain servers.

I've found that the Singapore server still works well 👍

Widget just chose only 5 drivers for a race (and 11 drivers 3 races later) which is frustrating :(
Still, it's connecting fine so musn't grumble.

I'm not complainng either, just noting this for Yonis' records ;)

I just found out that you must enable third party cookies in order to log into the gt5 site(from a pc/mac) since the last update. This could be causing some problems.

Or, with 3rd party cookies diabled, try signing into the Playstation site first, then while still logged in, try logging into the GT site in a new tab.

Well...last night was much more fruitful...couple of 15 minute hiccups, but mostly 3-6 minute load times, 13-16 drivers...

With Monday a school day there's less pressure on servers Sunday night I'm sure....

I think which server you choose has a huge impact on your widget stability also. I'm finding this more and more personally.

I keep a little mental list of which servers seems to perform better than others for my use and revisit them more than the others.

I am one of those that thinks 0.9 is the most stable. I've been running that version for three nights in a row, starts races reliably every time.

Doesn't it have problems logging in and picking races? It's based on the old system. How is it still working for you?

This morning I fired up from work, where I have 4 T-1's tied...the widget acted like it was on steroids compared to my home ISP this weekend....America is way behind in overall broadband speed from what I've read.... but I'm also sure Sony's servers in America are relatively flat during school hours....

Where do you choose the server?

it seems like the link for the grinder app is broken. I would like to try it if you'd be able to fix the link in the OP. Thanks for a cool way to get bob outta the house.

Very minor feature request..

Have an "about" page with links to this thread, the donation page, or whatever, so we can know if we have the latest version.

You must have an old version as there is one on v.1.1.3
It shows the version number and a link to Yonis' site.
I don't see a need for a link to this thread. If you have the widget, you got it from here, so know where this thread is.

I think he means so that he could check if there is an update to the widget without having to manually go to this thread.

Definitely. I bounced around between US and Asia servers when one would stop working. Since I switched to using an alternate account with much fewer friends, the widget has worked nearly non-stop (occasional hiccups but all recover within 1-2 minutes).👍

I think I've found why it didn't work at all for me (well 1 race started in a few days) with the new versions of the widget (0.9.1+).

I never logged in to gran-turismo.com with IE (never use IE, use Chrome/FF as my browsers).
Now when I've logged on gran-turismo.com with Internet Explorer, the widget has been running a few races all by itself. 💡

Got a small issue now, widget doesnt pick the full 16 drivers, it only picks drivers from 1 particular friend each time(only 4/5 drivers). Is this normal?

Also, i doubt all the drivers on my friend list are occupied...

It's a known problem which Yonis is looking into. It's been happening to me intermittently all day.
