Hate to be a noob, but...
What does it mean in the options about reserving a driver? IS it make it so i dont take all of my friend's drivers? Or make sure one of mine is always available?

To start the debug window:
  1. Have the Yahoo widget running, not the grinder.
  2. HOLD CTRL + SHIFT then right-click the Yahoo widget taskbar icon.
  3. Select 'Debug Mode'.
  4. Start the grinder.

adding in the ctrl shift doesnt work for me.

I get "open widget" "reveal in windows explorer" and "delete widget"

If anyone has a working version of widget 0.9 or 0.9.1, I would love a copy. Please contact me for my e-mail. Thanks a bunch.

Just an FYI for this error code:

Command hasn't gone through. Trying again...

I found my PS3 was signed out of the PSN. It also displayed "event not found" after i backed out of the remote race menu. I signed back in PSN and started up offline mode, back in business!

I just experienced the "Temporary Server Issue" too :(, switching servers didnt seem to help for me, had to wait for a while. And my credits dropped too and switching back on servers didnt help! Must i wait?

Yes, I believe GT-servers are having issues today from time to time.

Just switched to Singapore. Thanks for the suggestion.

Now watch, we'll all switch to Singapore and overload that server. lol

Not overloaded yet. Had a good run with it since I switched to it earlier today. Was actually going to give my PS3 a rest tonight, but given how it's been going today, I can't bring myself to kill this nice run.

48 hours of 2 minute loads?

Well there were a few bad data replies but no temp. server issues at all so yes, pretty much :)
(51 automated races yesterday at last count - stopped it a few times to collect and restart, etc.)

It should easily surpass that today (fingers crossed). I left it at midday and it had done 30 already since midnight :D

Impressive....

Started having trouble as soon as I got home...Singapore went unstable on me..

Searched around Europe with no successes on the level of Singapore so I returned and ithstood load times of 6-15 minutes throughout the night...

It's obvious the flaw is local to me...I'm going to let my workstation run the next 24 hours and monitor progress from home....

Just switched to Singapore after about a week, or so, of using the Australian server. So far, the load times are much faster.

First I would like to say thanks for the great widget!

I would like to share my experiences with the widget from when I first started using it.
Some info about me and my friends list
I am in Australia and used the Aus server (unless otherwise stated)
Of all my friends I am the only one who does remote races (using alt account to use all 6 main racers), and my brothers account I am his only friend (both main and alt accounts friended) so his drivers would never be in use unless I am using them.

Versions in order of use
0.9.1 Worked fine
0.9.4 Worked fine, occasional hiccup of not working, but I would just switch to US or HK server and it would work again (I didn't have debug window open to see exact problems)
1.1 Never connected (Again no debug window)
1.0 Was perfect
<PSN maintenance/Firmware/Patch>
1.1.3 Kept giving error of "There is nobody to race", regardless of what server, clearing cache, etc
0.9.1a <updated auth code - Been running fine now for a few hours apart from "Race has started" in the log it did have "API Bug: We were sent race info that is not ours! Try again." for a few lines and went away.

I suspect being in Aus and having an average of around 200ms ping to anywhere else in the world may be the cause of driver selection timeouts, etc.

I would be more then happy to try a 1.0a as I had the most success with that version and would like the UI improvements like lap counter, etc

If you're having the dreaded TEMPORARY SERVER ISSUE, try this.

Set up your PSN for remote racing. Go to your computer. Manually launch a race through your browser. Launch the widget. With luck, your widget will go through its routine, come to a point where it checks the status of your PS3 and see that it's racing. That might get it past the silly TEMPORARY SERVER ISSUE thing. I think (note that I said think) that this trick worked for me this morning and version 1.1.3 got into its routine (keeping fingers crossed).

v.1.1.3 has been a trooper for me recently but a few minutes ago it chose just 2 drivers for a race! (which I duly cancelled and started manually) Grrrr...

I keep asking myself if it's better to run the Dream Car Championship in B-Spec or let the widget include 6 of my drivers in a remote race. It might be better XP wise but money wise?

Feature Request:

A config option that will allow me to input specific usernames I want to exclude from races.

It would be nice to have some finer grained control over how many drivers to leave free. For example I have a friend with 1 driver, if I select to always leave 1 driver free, he never gets raced.

I still keep asking myself if it's better to run the Dream Car Championship in B-Spec or let the widget include 6 of my drivers in a remote race. It might be better XP wise but money wise?

I think ~1Mio Credits/hour is not really topable by remote racing.

Create more drivers... I share about 24 drivers within my 8 accounts, easily assembling 16 car fields per race....race them against each other only....collect on average about 500K/hr on a cumulative basis when the widget is humming...and this while I work or sleep....

Yeah, I'm talking about when I'm at home and awake - since I'm often too lazy to switch TV channels. :P

I hear ya....:D But you still have to get up every half hour (or more when it rains) to reset....I find it's more like 1M/1.5 hours....and only one driver levels up...

I'll probably end up running remote during the week and DCC on weekends.....

This also helps with the widget only selecting a few drivers, I always start a manual race ( as it were ) to select a full 16 drivers, start the race, then start the widget seems to cure all problems i have had.

Agreed, but eventually the problem returns I'm afraid as I've found again today. As I type, I'm 3 drivers down. Earlier, I only had 2 drivers in a race!!

Not trying to be a pain in the ass, but any ETA on the sexy new look?
I assume you mean driver selection. :) I still don't know yet, but I'll give another status update.

Right now, as you saw in the YouTube video I posted a few pages back, I've hooked up the UI for rearranging friends and drivers. I've also started work on the backend for saving all your settings made in that window, and I've also implemented the setting which automatically reciprocates racing for friends who use your drivers.

Next up is adding the always/sometimes/never use groups to the list and saving settings.

Make sure to run the debug version and send me a log of the incomplete selection, making sure to include the beginning of the log as well.
