B-Spec in GT5

I'd rather see some sort of slider, say from 1 to 10 of how hard you want him to push, 1 being equivalent to completely chilled cruising, 10 equivalent to red mist charge.

Replace the decrease / maintain / increase pace with that slider, keep the Cool / Hot headed bit, really if he's on a pace of 5 to 10, he should be overtaking where possible, with the higher levels making his attempts more risky.

I just feel that as there's no manual really for all this, we're very in the dark as to what's going on, and how what we do affects his development...

That is a good idea, thought of it to, but a block option could be fitted into these controls like u made a mode for attack increase pace and overtake... And if you are leading, a defensive mode where he runs a decent pace, might even increase if needed but blocks on spots where he is slower.
Really i lost championships due to the fact that bob got stuck behind a car that was a lap behind and the ennemy in ranking closed in and passes both of us in no time going for the win!! I mean in these cases i was leading with 20sec + on the clock.

After randomising the name of my first B-Spec driver a couple of times, it came up with F. Alonso... Just wish I could radio the other cars! :)

funniest most painful moment so far: K.Mass is pusing for 3rd at the end of lap 1. He gets forced wide and the donkey that he is drives into pit lane.

Thanks for the tuning advice I will see how it goes:)

F. Alonso??? And u really picked him, not in a million years i would chose this traitor. For he is the reason Mercedes losing the Title lost for championship to Ferrari!!!! He shall rott in heaven. His mother is a Hamster and his Father smells of Eldeberry's that son of a silly person!!!!

I enjoy b spec. Does anyone know wot the endurance races r like??? can u use more than 1 of yor b spec drivers and make up a 3 or 4 driver line up like le mans etc????

I'm just doing the B-Spec NASCAR at Grand Valley ,it's more like D1GP than NASCAR (for all cars not just mine)!

I've noticed a few familiar names when randomising too. No F1 drivers yet but I did have M Hirvonen for a short while.

I missed the chance to have C Klien

Good god, the B-Spec mode... I've mostly been enjoying it but on the Sport Truck race at Daytona, my driver brakes on the straights and despite having a highly tuned truck (ok, it's the Dodge, not exactly the lightest choice but the only one I have) he's dropped to 10th by the 5th lap, despite catching up to the pack on every lap. Oh, wait, someone just passed him because he braked as they pulled alongside, make that 11th.

Could someone lend me a truck to do this damn race with? Has anyone even done it?

Who would want him anyway??? And i am Austrian, by the way... ;)

I just did it a few minutes ago with a Silverado tuned to nearly 700 HP and he blew his oponents away! I'll lend you the car if you promise to send it back - just PM me.

I've done it seemingly by fluke because in winning it he levelled up (to level 8) and couldn't win it next time...

This was with a 450bhp Tacoma X Runner, he managed to get an exceptional draft that got him far enough ahead of the pack that they couldn't draft him anymore, and thus they never really got close enough.

He managed to lose by 0.02 as well, because he decided to brake at the finish line whilst neck and neck...

Needless to say that was infuriating.

I found quite a liking to B-Spec these days because i had to work a lot and whilst doing that i let Mr. Mckinney win some money and cars for me. :)
But now i put him in the Granturismo World Championship Tournament and he won the first four races quite easily. But during the fifth race he was leading in lap 5 and suddenly started making mistakes to no end. So he can't do an 8 lap race at level 16? besides that, every time he spun out, he let the complete field pass without moving a single inch. once he even took the car to the middle of the road after spinning it and then hit the brakes and let all cars pass again...
Besides that, he always tries to overtake on the outside of any given turn, never seen him using the brake to pass another car. and when he finally decides to give it a go on the straight, he always lets go off the accelerator for a short moment before passing another car. Anyone else is experiencing that?
Maybe you could remedy that by adding more command options like pass left/pass right, block etc.
Seriously PD, there's a lot to fix in B-Spec.

It is funny how "Pace down" makes my driver faster. Also when E.Cherry gets out in front I like setting faster times on each lap until she makes a mistake. She is level 8 and she has only spun out once. The one loss she has is because I didn't know "Pace down" would make her faster. :D

Maybe the 'pace down' command is a translation error from the japanese version? Maybe it means go faster, the 'pace down' arrow is blue and on the overtake icon the arrow that overtakes is also blue... ;)

So I have all gold races up to level 14 and I can't do it because my character isn't leveled to 14 yet :S?!?!? I have to redo races why?

Wait till you get to the Indy races after level 20, pretty sure it's impossible for Bob to Gold these in any car that has brakes but I'm happy to be proven wrong and I can give him a break from running around the Ring for the 14th time.

And if anybody is looking for Bob to work the cash for them in the bigger pay out races like 'ride the wind' and the American championship race while they eat Pizza.. forget it...everything in BSpec is double the length and half the money and Bob as I've already mentioned has a problem with Ovals so can't win in these races anyway.

Again I'm happy to be proven wrong but seems to me the Bspec Bobs are good for the Zonda Prize car and the odd Coffee break.

Wow, the truck race at Daytona is ridiculous.

I have the Dodge and it's suppose to be faster, but it's a FAIL.

Well, my driver is a FAIL. Breaks too early or unnecessarily.

Would anyone be nice enough to lend their Truck that definitely beat this race?

I just want to get it out of the way.

PM me if you can.

Yes, I will return it.

Not really a truck fan.

I used some Chevrolet Silverado concept or something? I spent a load to tune it up as well. No sense being cheap in this game...

Not adding anything much to this, but I can't believe how hard the Trcuk Daytona is! That and the Supercar Daytona I just can't do with Fred who's up to level 14 now. I've got the Veyron up to 1150bhp and still he can't do the Supercar one

I just raced "like the wind" with my fully tuned Veryon, he lost with 2½ min :D impressive how much he slows down

Btw I won the daytona truck race with my 550bhp dodge ram

I used the Silverado concept as well. My B-Spec driver seemed to have an anxiety attack and hit the brakes once the truck reached 150mph. You don't need to use the brakes at Daytona!!!

I first upgraded the transmission to a 6 speed and shot to the lead by the first turn and left the field in the dust. But then I noticed that the truck topped out between 135 to 140 and the field caught up and passed me resulting in a 12th place finish.

Then I upgraded to a fully tunable transmission and adjusted the final gear to 199. I still needed to instruct my driver to up his pace but I was able to finish with a victory.

I golded the Indy track with a 787B on the first try.

The key to B-spec is putting them in a car with very good handling. If you don't, your driver will suck.

Wow, I just create a 3rd B-Spec driver who can keep the car pointed straight and works well under pressure. I made sure that this driver had a cool personality.

Mine is not that bad, won like 20 out of 21 races and the one he did not win was Eiger with the ´62 Special. He came in 2nd on that one but golded it in 2nd try. But I´m only like B-spec level 6, let´s see how he does later on...
